You can get aluminum Vanquish clone beadlocks on eBay for the same price as the wagon wheels fyi. And no fiddly center hub beadlock screws to deal with. I’ve also seen those wheels literally cut tire beads off under normal use. Sand edges accordingly if you use them. The stock plastic wheels have much less rotational mass, so you’ll get better runtime and get up and go. Milstone makes brass wideners on eBay with barrel screws for added width and weight, but not as much as changing out wheels adds. Excellent option, maybe the best from what I’ve used. And I love aftermarket wheels on my bigger rigs.
Upgrading the tires made the biggest difference for me it crawls so much better and much less tire spins so far I have $14 tires from Amazon, lift suspension, upgraded servo (steering motor) and lights with those upgrade it drives so much better
@@yupyup8572 yea they are awesome unless u r running the hot racing +4mm axle kit with the milstone max kit lol 🤣 dam thing has a 5 nd 1/2 inch wheelbase shit looks silly lol but love the deep-dish look
Lmao I already have the wheels and the wide axles, which milstones can fit the stamped beadlocks though? I’ve seen you have to file down the hex or something like that.
A way to lift the body off the tires is to move the shocks off the shock mounts, and move down to the frame. I have done that with my Jeep and C-10's. FREE UPGRAGE, AND NO TRIMMING
some great tires for the cost are prolines hyrax. they come on plastic beadlocks so your not gaining a weight advantage but they less than 30 bucks for all 4 and they are a significant improvement over the stock deadbolt tires
These series are the best. My wheel of choice for the scx24 though is the SSD bead locks. Having that extra weight down low makes a big difference for these trucks
Oh i upgraded my deadbolt. I got the hr racing axle housing and all the brass for them. And shocks, and the links. I got the extension drive shafts too and brass weights. I'll have look into them tires and the servo. Too
I would like to see the shocks next week. Also Coming from the 1/10 scale world I’m a bit lost where to put my money with the shocks. All ready did wheels and tyres same wheels stamped RC4WD beadlocks and yes they are my least favourite beadlocks I have ever put together. I went with the km3’s happy with them. A few printed bits. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.
I would recommend looking at Treal and Hot Racing. They have some good aluminum as well as brass upgrades. I would recommend the aluminum steering link by Treal they make in a few different colors including a green color for the betty.
I just got a betty yesterday in mint condition and i couldn't be happier. Ran across your channel and i really dig the budget build vids 🔥💯 i had to subscribe! Great content 🙌
I was able to trim stock tires and cut a 21mm brass busing that slides perfect into rim, but don't know if I like that stock jeep tire compound, definitely going check those tires out excellent information bro.
PN Racing 90T motor + pn racing spur and pinion + on racing mount OR rgt barrage 050 motor Full send +6mm shafts Treal overdrive Holmes BR mini esc OR castle sidewinder micro 2 Brass knuckles Some 3D printed parts😉
Those RC4WD alum rims wont allow for wheel weights or larger hex weights (screws in the way). Full Send RC make some nice wheel weights for the RC4WD steelies you chose. You chose wisely...
How does the vented tire (specifically those little guy tires) do when driving through mud and water? I have those tires and am looking for more traction. Venting sounds like a great idea, but I frequently drive through mud and water. Thanks
If you drive we conditions, don't vent, use a beadlock and run sealed with no foam. Honestly a tire with air pressure in it will do better than foam compressing
Only vent if you have closed cell foam inside because it’s waterproof, regular widely used open cell foam molds and holds water in. Not sure if Crawler Innovations even makes any unfortunately.
I want that Little Guy Racing Trail King, but I didn't find a shop in Europe. I hove the guy's from Litte Guy write me back. I think that are the best tires.
I began following you and SBG some time ago. After a lengthy absence from the RC hobby, I was excited to hear about this build challenge. I was really anticipating this series because I began building an SCX24 Deadbolt from scratch as my reentry back into the hobby. However, after watching both you & Matts videos this week, I have a question for you: Is this considered a “budget build” or “budget modification”? I am currently in my initial phase which is building out the chassis. I just posted the same question to Matt on his video in hopes to get a reply from at least one of you guys. Looking forward to the challenge and your videos!
Josh already looking for a 24th scale 2" chip brush.
IF you are going for performance, the Treal Overdrive gears is a must.

You can flip the rims and bolt the hex hub onto the face of the rim and make them deep dish and give you a wider stance
Jesus fuck finally someone else also saying this. It's the best with these rims and tires

That raises the center of gravity however which is bad for performance.

Yes I think you got it right
Just ordered myself the 24th Deadbolt, got it at the original price. This series is going to help me figure out my upgrades.
Great choice guys for the budget build. Their are so many things for scx24s now.
Brass Betty bam balam!! Woaaahh
Josh, I'm GLAD the Budget Build is back!!! I know I'll get some great ideas for my SCX-24 Deadbolt.
Oh i upgraded my deadbolt. I got the hr racing axle housing and all the brass for them. And shocks, and the links. I got the extension drive shafts too and brass weights. I'll have look into them tires and the servo. Too
You took a very different path for wheels and tires than I would have.
Good luck. : )

Loved my scx24, I went with the rc4wd beadlocks and km3 tires, it was a great combo!

Flip the Rc4wd hubs an make the ring deep dish to gain width
TGH-24X angled skid chassis was some of the best money I spent on mine.

I ordered my Furitek brushless combo last week. I can’t wait!
Budget Build is back! WOOHOO! I think it’s pretty neat you’re using a Betty
The RC4WD competition bead locks look pretty sweet. But they would also blow the budget.
Happy to see another Budget Build series! Love that it's a SCX24!
Awesome video!
YES!!!. This one will be awesome, you can do so much with these little trucks for cheap.
Great idea to do ..love the budget build off is so much fun to do and watch..
Like the build off. Can’t wait to see both of y’all’s rigs done. But you went with the wrong tires the first week lol.
I was able to trim stock tires and cut a 21mm brass busing that slides perfect into rim, but don't know if I like that stock jeep tire compound, definitely going check those tires out excellent information bro.
Really looking forward to this series.
PN Racing 90T motor + pn racing spur and pinion + on racing mount OR rgt barrage 050 motor

Treal overdrive

Brass knuckles
Some 3D printed parts😉
Can't wait to see both builds. Looks like ill be building mine now.
Jordan makes great tires. He sold over 100 sets the first 12 hours he released them
put the hub on the outside of the wheel...free wheel wideners
Makes me want to get my second one off the shelf and finally do something with it.
AS12/6 ESC and you are good ... best upgrade ever... better than Komodo/Lizard Combo
I have been waiting for something lime this for a scx24. So im super hyped. As for upgrades, you should do high clearance links
Dope , was just messing with my deadbolt and saw the build off , gonna be good
for the freebie week i recommend removing the body and bumpers and adding a pinion from a 1/10 servo for more torque and lower cgs
Removing the body? That would look silly. Why would you want to see that specifically?
@@HarleyDesignsInc I tried that on my Betty and it significantly improved my performance
I love these.
The whole time watching.... "don't cut up that truck... you can't cut up that Betty... sumumabish... he cut up the Betty!!"
There's 10 thousand u goof
Put a video on last weekend SCX24 with 20 $ upgrade vs. Scx24 with 200 (or even 300) $ upgrades. You won't believe which one is more capable 😉
Totally random but I have one of those scale engine hoists that is on the shelf in the background... small world lol. I got mine when I was 5 yo.
Very nice…that’s very good info..👍
The B17 is going for almost 400 bucks on eBay! Crazy
Gonna need a servo I bet soon
Those RC4WD alum rims wont allow for wheel weights or larger hex weights (screws in the way). Full Send RC make some nice wheel weights for the RC4WD steelies you chose. You chose wisely...
Nice man! I really enjoy the budget build series.
Should have turn rim inside out for a wider stance.
man those cheap wheels you went with were the best looking ones 😂
I am working on building my scx24 right now
Betty!!!!! She is pretty!!! I love driving mine!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘 Matt's video is private
Have a broken arm and these rc4wd beadlocks are insanely hard to put on lmao
Dope rig
Gotta put a Mini Revolver and a Holme Silencer Crawlmaster mini esc in it.
Can't believe you took the b17 out of the box 😳
I’ve got two 😁
@@HarleyDesignsInc same 👍🏻, but also good to see someone use it as intended as well
I see my BRODOZER sitting on the shelf there... lol...

Just so you know, the LGR tires have less grip than the stockies.
They do look cool
I bet the BFGs would be the most grippy, with that compound.
@@mgscheue grippiest tire I have tested so far is the Injora super swamper
Make it a belly dragger 💯😎💪🤙✌️
Guess I’m going to have to make the 1/24 dive
How's about a gen8 v2 build off
Yessss finally!!! I'm hyped for this one
Should have "deep dished" those wheels
So pumped! Can't wait to see the progress on these builds 👍
Ever upgrade on a 1/1. Is a set of sunrasias. Go the 1/24
I want that Little Guy Racing Trail King, but I didn't find a shop in Europe. I hove the guy's from Litte Guy write me back. I think that are the best tires.
Those tires might work good for a micro shark 24 build, I'd of gotten a replacement betty body, lmao
Can I get the same size of tire - just better grip? Cheers 🤙
I don’t see water bottles in the budget. Cheating! 😂
Your really going to need to make that thing bad A$$ for me to be interested in a 1/24 scale rig.
About time Guys!! LOL
What the what? You squatted your CEN? Too funny.
Rear steer! Super easy on these trucks.
Will these fit on the stock wheels
Still waiting for that running video
How is the BIG BERTHA build going??
F450 sittin back there tooted
Looking forward to seeing Betty get some upgrades, but it looks like Caroline doesn't approve...
I actually would have chose those wheels over any of the others even at the same price.
Hey Josh check out goblin chassis for scx24 !!!!!!!
Betty look for a different build😎
I thought for sure you would stretch them 1.0s on a 1.55 wheel. Give it your signature look!😉
Stupid idea. 1.55 definitely want fit
Maths is hard...$50.97
Treal over drive gear, and shocks. Yeah racing, Hot racing, and power hobbies shocks are all the same.
Oh god all I can see is the squatted CEN
Overdrive gears
You made it a baby monster truck...
If the pice gos up on the scx24 ima be pissed broke my arm last muth so i cant work for a while so ima be broke af for a while
Schaaaweeet
What A Betty ! Ha ha

It sounds like you’re trying to come up with a definition of common nomenclature? This type of thing has pretty commonly been referred to as a build.
@@HarleyDesignsInc Again, as I stated, I recently re-entered the RC hobby. I apologize if I misunderstood your definition of a “build”.
One issue every adolt has is sausage fingers. Twesers are esetial. I have 8 diferent 1/24. . All modded
Treal are far better wheels. also much heavier. Treal and Vanquish have a very close quality. Is that why your not trying them? LOL
I love the Treal wheels I put on my scx24. The brass ring added some serious weight down low.
You should of used a dremel to cut the body lol
Body should have been first upgrade. the power wagon has less to trim.
What happened to the running videos?
let me get that Betty in the unopened box sale it to me pay for some of ur upgrades on ur budget build
I really don’t have any desire to sell it, it would have to pay for all the upgrades over the whole series and more probably. 😁
I cannot believe that you chopped up a limited edition body. : ( Shame, shame, we know your name!
It will get worse in the future 😁
@@HarleyDesignsInc There is no shame is Josh's game! LOL
I bought the same rims from Rc4wd but frankly the quality is terrible.
i an having the worse time with these bead locks
They are absolutely a pain in the ass!!
