...or how about WFTS-TV "Action 28 News" with the byline "An affiliate of ABC owned by the E.W. Scripps Co." underneath. It would be similar to the branding that WBAY-TV 2 of Green Bay, Wisconsin, a fellow ABC affiliate owned by Gray Television uses WBAY-TV "Action 2 News." Both cities are located along a bay...
WFTS, the ABC affiliate in the Tampa Bay area, is owned by the E.W. Scripps Company. WFTS is the sister station to NBC affiliate WPTV and Fox affiliate WFLX in West Palm Beach, ABC affiliate WTXL in Tallahassee, Fox affiliate WFTX in Fort Myers, and independent station WSFL in Miami.
I loved the News Matrix/Chris Corley duo days of "ABC Action News". It fit well, until they added a different package, and it didn't make any sense no more.
For a few months in 2002, WFTS changed its news branding to _28 News_ and tried to revamp its news operation. The talent opens, some of which have been posted on RUclips, used the same talent shots and animations as seen in the first set of graphics for _ABC Action News_ (which were mostly the same). They also commissioned "Elevation" from Stephen Arnold Music. However, the revamp failed and the station rebranded as _ABC Action News_ for general and news purposes.
iamnomad101 The initial _ABC Action News_ opens in this video didn't last long, as Martie Tucker went back to Orlando's WFTV at the beginning of 2003 under her old name Martie Salt. The shots of the talent were replaced with ones that aren't arguably as good as the ones they replaced. (Trivia: The old shots had the old "28" logo on the monitors, so when _ABC Action News_ become the station's full-time branding, the logos were blurred out.)
A similar situation had played out just recently in Atlanta, Georgia with Gray Television's WGCL-TV 46 "CBS 46" being transformed into WANF 46, a CBS affiliate that now identifies itself with the on-air branding of "ANF" and "Atlanta News First."
You're watching 28 Tampa Bay News: Working Hard to be your Favorites.
This is F.T.S.: Your Fox Television Station.
I liked 28 Tampa Bay News, sounds much more attractive than ABC Action News.
+TampaBayNewsFan 2015 Or at least brand the station ABC 28 Action News

"Elevation" now lives on as a NewsNet default news package. KTWO and the ABC Alaska stations, both NewsNet Semi-affaliates, use it as of July 2020.
