I enjoy John Young's voice over work. He is, beyond a doubt, one of the best voice-over announcers in the business, winning Emmy awards along the way, along with the honor of being inducted into the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame. We need more great people like him.
I hope you all will reply to this remember when the station was WLAC Hee Haw from its first episode in 1969 til 1980 filmed there??????!!’!!!!!!!!!….in 1980 they moved to Opryland
Yes, she left, I think for Baltimore, right before I moved to the area in the mid-1970s. Once on her show she went back to Nashville and had a nice reunion with Chris Clark. Pat Sajak worked at WSM-TV around the same time, also leaving in the mid-1970s for LA.
Jon H I hope you will reply to this the NBC affiliate in San Antonio then having the call letters KMOL channel 4 had the same intro and music their version was San Antonio spirit on 4
Lol. The Saturn plant here was the reason why everyone came rushing down here. When I was born, you couldn't even get pizza delivered here in Spring Hill!
Don't get me wrong, I love my hometown of Knoxville. But sometimes I wish that I had grown up in Nashville/Middle Tennessee, especially during the first 10 years of the 2000s.

WFAA-TV, ch. 8 in Dallas, had a longtime intro with the same tune & music, instead using "The Spirit of Texas on 8".

@@sherryhannah9262 I haven't seen that intro, but it makes sense. A lot of these newscast tunes were used in many different tv markets.
