Just beautiful ! I hate to repeat myself, but I am learning tons from these videos you're doing - thanks so much for taking the time to share all of this with us.
Stunning, as usual. It would be such a help to me if you would show a similar finished card at the beginning of the video. This way, as you go through the process, I am able to see why you're using each product/color. I'd also like to see how you use the finished item in a greeting card. Thanks so much for taking your time to educate us.
Another great video, Kevin. I have yet to try this technique. I will do so. Thank you for putting all these videos together. It really does help us. Sandy K
Thanks for watching! The Tonal Ap. is a good tool but I largely switched to the Stylus Tools years ago due to the fact that I think it's more intuitive for people to learn to use. If people take a workshop on the T.A. it's easy to learn but if they didn't have that hands-on availability it could be confusing. I'd see people at conventions and they'd tell me that they bought the T.A. at a previous show and they'd say they never used it because they didn't know what to do with it.
You have such a soothing voice. I was mesmerized by this video and the others I watched on your list. I think you capture the audience with your talent and your voice. :)
Thanks so much for the kind words! I've soothed a few people to sleep in my live workshops before and someone wrote to me in an email that they don't need to take melatonin to fall asleep anymore as they just put on one of my vids when they're going to bed. lol.
amazing! I just couldn't see the aurora borealis until you put the scene in - then BAM! there they were! It's amazing how much difference the little bit of white sets off the picture. Also, thanks for fixing the videos so I can watch them in correct order without having to search for the next one.
Thanks. Yes, sometimes things develop slowly in a certain direction but it isn't until some element is added where everything seems to come together. At times it doesn't even seem like a scene is going to work out but the finishing touches do the trick. That's why I've learned to just stick with a scene and see where it takes me instead of giving up early.
Hi. They're Colorbox Stylus Tools and I'm using the white oval foam tip option in it. You can probably find them on many sites by doing a search but we also have them on the website.
You're right. The final version in the beginning of the videos would be good. I haven't done that yet as I haven't been editing these at all. In fact, there's several videos where I'm cut off abruptly by my camera shutting off due to overheating. When I get to doing some edits down the line I'll do these videos "right". I'll do a vid with a finished card sometime soon.
Great Video Kevin, I'm following along with these lessons. I like to print off the instructions. The stamps noted on the instructions for this one list the wrong stamps. Should be 049G Lakeside Cove Large and 067B Reeds.
You are realy an artist with colors and stamps. I have seen the northern Lights live and your interpretation on paper looks very real!! Ihaven't seen a painting thats so realistc before. And your Voice is very relaxing, you could do very great ASMR Videos (or ad a Tag with ASMR so that this people find your Videos). By rhe way not just your Paintings and Voice is beautiful, your Hands too ;-). Hope you understand my english, greetings from switzerland, Sabine.
I've been watching all the videos and loving them. Question: You have been using the colobox stylus for all the coloring so far, do you no longer use the tonal applicator?
They're pretty convenient and ergonomic. They're Colorbox Stylus Tools and available at www.stampscapes.com as well as other sites. If you get some, just be careful to not tear the foam. I have a video on do's and don'ts using the tools and how to avoid tears on the website and this channel. Proper use can practically get one 15 years of use out of a tip (and I use them a lot) but, if used roughly, it can last 15 seconds. I say this as I want everyone's tips to last a long time as they're great.
Hello, thank you! The tools are here: www.stampscapes.com/accessories_wands.html . If you pick some up check out this video: ruclips.net/video/T-KpatiMe9k/видео.html . They'll last 20 years if taken care of by avoiding a couple things but they'll last 20 seconds if one does what I show not to do in the video. Basically, you just want to avoid scrubbing with them which a lot of people do. Use a lot of ink and the sponges will glide nicely and last, seemingly, forever. Many of my foam tips are 15-20 years old and I use them all the time.
Yes, we shouldn't get caught up in specific brands and lines as the concept is what's important with any instructional type of video like this. Different lines come and go all the time. The main thing, as far as a technique here, is a light value blue dye based ink. Most ink lines have a light blue in it. If you have one, try that. If you don't, look for one that you like the most but maybe don't buy the pad version of it but buy the reinker for it. Saturated first layers come about really fast by just adding some reinker fluid/ink to a sponge applicator. It can go 3-4 times as fast that way and you get a lot more ink in a re-inker bottle than in a pad. Some good options are Memento "Summer Sky", Distress Ink "Tumbled Glass", as well as a number of others.

You are not just a stamper , you are an artist ! I am in awe !
Thanks for another wonderful tutorial. I would have never thought to use shades of green for a night time scene. Totally amazing. TFS!!! Kevin. :-D
This is a great explanation of how you get your layered and deepened color values as well as the famous glowing snowflake!! Thank you!
All I can say is WOW so beautiful

AMAZING! You are so talented. I love this. Thank you so much for sharing. Thumbs up!
Yes, if it were for a card, I would probably do a double matte with one thin border of light green and maybe a folded black card stock for the card.

Ah, thanks Barbara! Did a "cut and paste" and forgot to change that.

I love that sponge you are using. Where can I find one like that?
