I love this clip. It takes me back to the Chicago concert I was at in '68 where the whole crowd stormed the stage during Light My Fire. We just stood there stunned by what was going on around us. It was just electrifying.
Right that's what I said when I watched it on blu ray on the anniversary of this performance...i was like d.... they had that kind of technology and audio
it's afunny thing that in the movie they re-created the show as it was, a complete riot!! it's amazing because according to The Doors the show was exactly like this and Jim never exposed himself haha, I think like Jim said it was a good concert, and like Ray said they gave worst concerts
I think that the scenes in this film leave a lot to be desired. Morrison was a poet, a musician who managed to cross the cult stages and who from the beginning broke schemes in front of society and they show him as a drunk and addict without knowing that he was giving a message outside of the normal paradigms of common understanding The Doors have left a legacy of music and spiritual knowledge and will always be the best band that engendered that knowledge of going beyond the doors of perception.....
This is how live performances in rock movies should be presented. The ones in rocket man and Bohemian Rhapsody look like kids tv talent shows in comparison
@@skitzoweirdo5313 you didn t understand the scene. clapping today its just retard.like the music mainstream from today. For idiots. The doors was shamanic experience
The bald guy dancing just behind Jim with one hand on Jim's shoulder is Death. He appears several times in the movie. All real protest must be heard - but it must also be killed off, and become part of our collective dream. Who cares if this scene isn't 100% accurate? How the hell can you you recreate a historical scene of mass action with '100% accuracy'. This scene is 'deterministic chaos' - lots of real and possible minor variance, but the 'deep message' is invariant!
Thank you so much for clarifying this! I have watched this movie several times now and realized that "Death" shows up several times throughout the movie, and in this scene -- which is by far my favorite for the reasons you so eloquently describe. What's interesting is that this character doesn't show up in Prime Video X-Ray, nor can I find them in the credits, so it was tripping me out. Pun intended. :P Searching didn't turn up much but Google had linked your comment on the 2nd page. THE AMAZE

I can honestly believe he died of a heart attack at 27. I mean Jesus Christ one can say he burned out way too fast. Which I guess can be expected when you ride the fast lane. Like if this is at all reflective of what actually happened in one concert. It’s no wonder Morrison is a legend. Real poet and you can tell his brain is just bouncing from word to word making up stuff before the song actually starts. 0:50
Oliver Stone was reluctant to cast Kilmer as JM because JM was very self-conscious about being fairly small and VK is tall and stocky. The other famous actor who wanted the part was John Travolta, another big dude.
