Dude... Thank you. I'm currently dealing with the same issue with my 2015 Edge. But a recent car wash added about an inch of water that couldn't escape either. Your step-by-step video was absolutely perfect and demonstrated everything I needed to do (to avoid a repair shop). Absolute legend man. Thanks!

Excellent video!!! I drilled two little holes one on each side out of sight. That allowed air to vent through to speed things up. Then plugged them with flat rubber plugs later. P.S. If you squirt the entire light with soapy water and add very little air pressure through that big center hole bubbles will show you where the leaks are. Good luck! .Remember to drill very slow or you will crack the light.

Hey Bob, what size holes did you drill? Could you post some pics? Cheers!

If you drill hole on the side you won’t have to take it off all the time let air get in there this video was helpful thanks

Hello Ddcarpentry, do you have any pictures where you drilled the holes on the lamp assembly?

I have a 2015 Edge that’s doing the same thing. Makes me sad every time I look at it and the dealership just says it’s common. It shouldn’t be with how much these vehicles cost. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for this video Jacek. I've had heavy condensation on the inside lens of the middle section of the rear tail lamp my 2017 Edge for at least the last 1.5 years that never dried out. I wish I had seen this video a few months ago. I just had the lease end inspection on and they're telling me the condensation (all the was across the center piece like the video) is due to a 2 inch hairline crack in the lens (I think that's BS) but they want to tack on $1300 to my lease return fee to cover it. I think Jacek is right that the moisture is coming in from a seam on the assembly. I'd try do this fix if I had more time and it was pre-inspection. I'm guessing if I'd been able to dry it out they would not have said anything about the crack. The dealer ended up kicking in $500 of the fix as I'm buying a new vehicle from them, but I still feel ripped off on what clearly is a bad design.

That’s insane. I wouldn’t of bought/leased anything else from them. It’s clearly a factory defect since they leased u the car they own it and it’s on them.

Ford should have done a recall and replaced the lights.

We drilled the holes and the moisture is gone but my light stopped working also. $1,500 to replace. Ford offered to pay half. Ridiculous price for a light.

Hey Jacek, thanks for sharing hints and showing how you dealt with this radicolous bad design from Ford. I like the car a lot except for that lamp joke.
Some say sealing the thing with tech silicone helps as well once you are able to dry out the lamp completely.
