By "OUT" you actually accurately mean Passenger side??? Out has a whole lot of direction interpretation. It is difficult being frustrated and see Soooo many videos that miss the point. This was the best so far . If I get it open I will make a to the point exact video.
@@ronbown3836 Thank you finally got it by pulling the cut off back pack strap and also prying the way you showed. It did not feel like my prying moved anything though.

Yeah towards the passenger side.
Either way this is a poor design by Ford

So you can open it like that when the rear gate is shut
