Here is a video about drilling small holes...you may think about applying it as well... ruclips.net/video/XOBAH1oU-Qg/видео.html&si=H4RSCms5J2Tar6Kl Hey Jacek, thanks for sharing hints and showing how you dealt with this radicolous bad design from Ford. I like the car a lot except for that lamp joke. Some say sealing the thing with tech silicone helps as well once you are able to dry out the lamp completely.
I have a 2015 Edge that’s doing the same thing. Makes me sad every time I look at it and the dealership just says it’s common. It shouldn’t be with how much these vehicles cost. Thanks for the video!
Dude... Thank you. I'm currently dealing with the same issue with my 2015 Edge. But a recent car wash added about an inch of water that couldn't escape either. Your step-by-step video was absolutely perfect and demonstrated everything I needed to do (to avoid a repair shop). Absolute legend man. Thanks!
I have a 2017 Ford edge my right brake light not to tailgate light my right brake light has water and moisture in it for drilling a hole in that will help keep that out or keep it from fogging up can you let me know please
Found this exactly what. I needed..I figured the door handle was the major access I'm doin a led strip and needed access to the reverse wires so this works
We drilled the holes and the moisture is gone but my light stopped working also. $1,500 to replace. Ford offered to pay half. Ridiculous price for a light.
I call FORD CANADA he tells me if there is no one who does not make a complaint, he will never have a call. Ford Customer Relations Center of Canada 1-800-565-3673 call these for the benefit of everyone. thank you
Thanks for this video Jacek. I've had heavy condensation on the inside lens of the middle section of the rear tail lamp my 2017 Edge for at least the last 1.5 years that never dried out. I wish I had seen this video a few months ago. I just had the lease end inspection on and they're telling me the condensation (all the was across the center piece like the video) is due to a 2 inch hairline crack in the lens (I think that's BS) but they want to tack on $1300 to my lease return fee to cover it. I think Jacek is right that the moisture is coming in from a seam on the assembly. I'd try do this fix if I had more time and it was pre-inspection. I'm guessing if I'd been able to dry it out they would not have said anything about the crack. The dealer ended up kicking in $500 of the fix as I'm buying a new vehicle from them, but I still feel ripped off on what clearly is a bad design.
That’s insane. I wouldn’t of bought/leased anything else from them. It’s clearly a factory defect since they leased u the car they own it and it’s on them.
Excellent video!!! I drilled two little holes one on each side out of sight. That allowed air to vent through to speed things up. Then plugged them with flat rubber plugs later. P.S. If you squirt the entire light with soapy water and add very little air pressure through that big center hole bubbles will show you where the leaks are. Good luck! .Remember to drill very slow or you will crack the light.

If you drill hole on the side you won’t have to take it off all the time let air get in there this video was helpful thanks
Hello Ddcarpentry, do you have any pictures where you drilled the holes on the lamp assembly?
Ty. I got one of those cars, and minds is doing the same thing. Now I know what I have to do.

Hey Bob, what size holes did you drill? Could you post some pics? Cheers!

Thank you very much for taking the time to make this video. You saved me a lot of time. You are a good person.
Great Instructions, I will try on mine!
Thanks Jacek I got the same problem on my 2015 Ford Edge Titanium ... I liked your video
Well done, your instructions in removal were very helpful.
Status update - after a couple of days all the fogging was gone from the lamp and it is crystal clear now
