yotricks my spacer is stuck and i cant remove it, it has caused the whole yoyo to not spin and i just got it last week. Do I buy a new yoyo or do i try to fix this one?

@AAm_Forever been a while since i commented this and I don't remember it perfectly on when and where I said this but upon reading this again, i believe that i meant lubricant/grease for the ball bearings to not get rusted and work functionally
@AAm_Forever 1, some can be removed, some cannot...usually they are
2, increasing the life span of the bearings of the yoyo isn't a bad idea, after all maintaining your yoyo to be effective for years is better than just replacing the bearings because they aren't smooth...you would end up spending a lot...lube is needed regardless of the fact you can replace the bearings primarily as both a cost effective method and for longevity of your yoyo

It's been about 12 days since I bought my Velocity and due to using it a lot, the string thinned. It makes a lot of noise on using this string. But if I use the extra string it doesn't make noise. Is this normal. It also sometimes returns to my hand in unresponsive mode
I would reccomemd using some unresponsive lube
It is normal. Yoyo strings, bearings, and other parts of a yoyo can dieout due to the amount of time you use the yoyo. If you're yoyo does go back, check out the yotricks store and buy corresponding lubes for your yoyo. They also have tutorials and videos about the maintenance on what lubes should you use for responsive and unresponsive yoyos. But if you already lubed the yoyo properly but its still going back, the string tensions might be too much. Just let the string untangle itself.

I just got mine and when I put it all the way to pro mode, it still comes back as if it were responsive.
yo just need to twist correctly the wheel, mine works perfectly

i have a velocity yoyo and i think the velocity can break easily around the dial if you accidently throw it hard beause around the adjusting dial has thiner plastic. (by the way i dont know about other plastic yoyos) And i bought a Shutter yoyo from you guys! Thanks to all members of yoyotricks!
I actually threw my velocity hard and it hit the floor. It didn't break though.
I just got this yoyo about an hour ago, and now I started wondering how I'm supposed to lube it, I can't manage to get the bearing off of the yoyo.
Also, the spacer is stuck on the other half of the yoyo :/

I'm a beginner with yo-yo's and I got this to practice binds. The way they had the string installed from the factory (they had it in a loop similar to how the finger loop is) made the yo-yo semi-responsive even when set to the "pro". It was making learning tricks a bit scary because I could never tell when the yo-yo was going to return. I just figured it out and re-installed the string the way it is shown in the video and it's much better now! No more unwanted returns!

It has been quite a labor to upload three times a week, which we have been doing for a couple months now (I think). We are always looking for ways to be more efficient though, so as soon as we can amp things up again we will.

Just thought I'd throw my two cents in on this YoYo as someone who is generally new to this hobby. It just arrived for me two days ago. I was wanting to purchase a sage yoyo but living in the UK its not so easy to get hold of one. I'd seen a few posts mentioning this yoyo and as someone who had only owned a yoyo once before years ago I figured this would help me get into the more advanced tricks when I'm ready to do so.
Compared to a cheapo yoyo I owned a few years back that had a switch that would let you go from unresponsive to responsive to no sleeping this yoyo sleeps unbelievably easy. Just letting go of the yoyo generates enough spin for it to sleep. And it comes right back up to your hand very easy once you have it dialled in. However, I'm finding the more responsive I have it set to, the more difficult it is for me to do any tricks due to the pads making contact with the string on string tricks and this often makes it lose speed quickly or become off balance. Having said that I'm not so great at string tricks yet so it could just be inadequacy on my part.
Another note. As I didn't buy from YoTricks I got my yoyo with the string already on. And the string it comes with is fairly short. I'm 6'5" but this string seems short even for someone who is smaller. I have more strings on the way so I can make them up to my height. Something you may want to consider when buying this Yoyo.
Anyway. Hope this beginners insight has helped anyone in someway.

This was one of my favorite yoyos, but I somehow managed to break the dials and now the response pads are misaligned and come out crooked... are there any other yoyos with a hybrid shape like this one? I think I'll get a Fizz, but I'd like something with response pads too.
Oh nevermind, I watched the video again and saw you removing those plastic things completely and then putting them back on; I tried that too and it's fixed now! :D
I just got mine a few days ago but after using it a lot it doesn’t sleep long enough for me to preform any trix, Any ideas on why that is? (I watched your video on why the yoyo won’t sleep but it didn’t help )

Hey, which yoyo should I get, this or the Shutter? I'm more into unresponsive play and I'm wondering whether the Shutter plays any significantly better than the Velocity or whether it's worth choosing the Velocity for its ability to perform looping tricks.
I would say 100% you should go Shutter. If you are interested in looping tricks you should get a dedicated looping yoyo like the Oracle.

I actually like this yoyo a lot. But my velocity is broken. I was practicing some tricks and it hit the wall hard, and it cracked part of the yoyo internals. I took it apart and sorta fixed it. That was my fault. Otherwise. Great yoyo

I was just so very coincidentally eyeing this yoyo yesterday, and was almost about to purchase it... though I thought I should go read some forums and ask some questions first. So this came at a very good time! One thing though, for future videos: when buying a yoyo, I'm more interested in what it can NOT do well, and maybe an alternative yoyo for each thing that it cannot do (maybe even a reverse comparison of other ways in which THIS one is better than that one as well). Of course, maybe that'd make the video too negative, so I dunno... just food for though. ^^
We make it a point to not specifically compare yoyos in videos, because we feel it is too likely to draw attention away from one yoyo to something else, when the whole point of a review is to talk about one yoyo. We just feel it keeps things simpler. If a yoyo does not do something well, like in the case of the Velocity yoyo it is terrible for grind tricks, for instance, we do not mention it because we are trying to let people know what the yoyos are good for. All that being said, if you have a specific question, or are wondering how it compares to a specific model I will help you out in the comments if I can.
actually velocity is acceleration in a straight line. A spinning object does not have velocity. Cool name, bad science.

What I was trying to say is spinning is not velocity, but yeah you're right
Spinning is measured frequency. Multiply the rot/min with 2*pi and you got the rotating frequency of the yoyo. Now multiply once more with the radius and you get the fastest tangential speed, it should be quite amazing.
One more thing, velocity is NOT acceleration... NEVER EVER

If your gonna start doing reviews again then why start with the velocity? There are tons of yoyos of which we want a review from you guys , as you are so good at it. That is a fair questions. We are starting our reviews with the yoyos that are the most popular. This incidentally means that we are starting with reviews for yoyos that are for newer players. Once we have those covered we will move on to some more of the cutting edge yoyos. Unfortunately, we have been a little slow in this area, so our intention is to start making reviews much more often, as players like yourself have continued to ask us to make more videos like this.

The Sage plays better overall, but the Velocity makes it more convenient to switch between responsive and unresponsive play.
The spacer will not come off my yoyo. you mention that it should just slide right off. it doesn't. 1 broken knife and 1 cut to hand.

You can. We describe how to remove the spacers in this video, I believe.

If you remove the spacers from both sides of the bearing then the bearing is out.
That being said, you don't need to lube both sides. If you lubed on side and it is working, that is just fine.

I just got my Velocity from you guys today in the mail and after playing with it all day, I noticed something. My Velocity, with both dials turned all the way to pro, still returns to my hand from a sleeper with a tug. Not sure if that's normal for a Velocity, but I was under the impression that it's not supposed to work that way. Any thoughts on what may be wrong or is that common with this yoyo? Also, how often should I have to lube this thing?
That can happen if there is a problem with the bearing. Did you already lube it?
@@yotricks I played with it for about 5 minutes and it got really loud all of the sudden. I gave it one drop of lube and it slowed down significantly but I didn't notice the responsiveness right away. It wasn't until later in the day that I noticed it came back even when adjusted all the way to pro. I haven't lubed it any more since and it's still doing it. Maybe just not a good yoyo for unresponsive play. I'll probably just nail down level 1 of the first 50 tricks and buy a Replay Pro or something similar that is meant for unresponsive play exclusively. I've got everything on level 1 except Trapeze and Regens and unresponsive plays starts with level 2 I think so it may be sooner than later. I thought this yoyo would last me at least through level 2.

I got this yoyo about 3 years ago and cience then i had the response pads touching at all times and used it like that for quite a while and now that I got back to it the spin time is non existent (20s) and even on pro mode when I tug the string it comes back, i am a beginner still but should i consider replacing everything or jast get a new one (keep in mind that I didn't know i had to maintain it even though I never used it on pro mode)

Yotricks I have a Velocity and my bearing WON'T come off what should I do?
right when I get the yo-yo I use it for a bit then it gets louder and slower, the spacers start coming off and on the bearing and it is all the way pro and it is responsive. now it is falling apart when I throw it plus I can't clean the bearing because I can't get inside. all of that happened in 3 hours I'm really pissed

I know the video stated that this yoyo sleeps up to and past 3 mins. But is that with the unresponsive switch engaged or with the responsive? If it is either or sleep how long does it sleep with the later engaged?
It sleeps that long in Pro Mode. Only 30-45 seconds in Easy Mode.

I havn't yo-yoed since i was a kid, back then the top tier brand was Yomega Fireball (back in the late 90's early 2000s), looks my gen of 30+ year olds still retain child-like hobbies, so whats the latest and top tier yo yo these days? can i play my yo-yo on my smartphone? where can download a yo-yo, i hope the filesize is reasonable.
The best brand of yoyos these days is YoYoFactory, who happens to make this yoyo. If you are interested in getting back into it we would recommend starting with the Sage. And we do have an app where you can learn all the tricks ;)

I don't have the money for the lube and I just got the volocity at my hobby shop but it makes a fun sound when sleeping
The Velocity uses 19mm response pads? It looks really thick compared to your usual response pads

I just learned how to yoyo a few days ago I have basic tricks like walk the dog baby in the cradle and elevator and I have been trying to do the trapeze but I miss a lot and corrections don't work well for me also it try's to come back and to my hand when it hits the string?!?!??? Help please!?!?!?!?!?!
To keep it from coming back when it hits the string you need to bring your hands together. Other than that it sounds like you need to continue to work on your throw, which happens naturally as you practice the trapeze.

Velocity if bought from your site gives 1 string. But the original one says "extra string" do u guys sell it at a low cost or what?
Yoyo Factory puts the Velocity in a different box for us, and that box only has one string.

Compared to yoyos with a more modern design, like the Sage for instance, no, it is not especially stable. Will a new player notice this, probably not at first. The better you get, the more it becomes a problem. We discuss this some in this video, although I don't know that we use the word "stable" specifically.

I just got yoyo lube today and I lubed my velocity but it's still making a sssssssssssss noise after I lubed it
It is okay for yoyos to make that noise.

One of my dials doesn't seem to be working at all? I'm not certain what i did to it but now it feels stuck and won't turn either way? please help
Sometimes the dials get a little stuck. Try turning it both ways, or have a few other people give it a shot. If you can get it moving a little it should loosen back up.

NEM Storm Sorry that I’m not who you’re looking for but I’m pretty experienced with this yoyoing stuff (2 years of none stop research and play time) If you have just started, I highly suggest getting The Sage, simply because of the extremely good price for its extremely good performance. Also because of the fact that it’s better for string tricks because it’s wider. You also don’t have to worry about adjusting the dials. I have the Velocity and I hate having to adjust it.

If it is not sleeping at all that is not a lube problem, most likely the string is on the yoyo the wrong way.

My yoyo’s screw isn’t stable and the spacer is stuck in the other half. But it works perfectly fine.
Same, I think they make the newer version like that, maybe they want to avoid the spacer from missing or assemble it in a wrong way.
Is there a way to take of the spacer of the velocity sticking to the bearing with out a thumbnail or a knife? Also, after cleaning a bearing, do we have to reshieild the bearing?
I'm sure there are thousands of ways. Those are two we know that work for us. You do not need put the shields back on the bearing.

i have a hard decision what should i buy? magic yoyos or velocity and psg im still learning intermediate and advanced tricks.

You can get the Sage in India. We ship to India. That being said, if you are not willing to get a yoyo from us, the Velocity is a fine yoyo, as we say in the video.

my velocity sleeps around 50s max. and I concider my throws pretty decent. What could be wrong? Thx for your response
Most likely nothing is wrong. In order to get a sleeper that lasts that long the yoyo must be thrown very powerfully and the string cannot touch the sides of the yoyo at all while it is sleeping.

Hii, i know it's a weird question, but if i understand well, a responsive yoyo is when you do a hand motion and it will come back in your hand, and the unresponsive is when you have to do a bind right? ... i bought the velocity and even when i put the "pro" when I do a hand motion the yoyo come back?! should I lube it? thank :)
You are correct about the distinction between responsive and unresponsive. If it comes up in pro mode that may mean that your string has too much tension. Try getting all the tension out of your string, or try putting on a new string if you have one and see if that works. If you are not sure what I mean by tension we discuss it in this video:

+yotricks thank you for your fast answer :) . like you said I tried a new string, and i remove all the tension in it. And it still responsive... the new string seem a bit longer for me, but i never hit the floor, so i don't feel the necessity to cut it. But when I play with it, i hear a noise from i guess the barrel inside, that's why I thought i should lube it. :/
You should lube it. Try to get as little in the bearing as possible. It should make the bearing play quiet and over time it will becomes less and less responsive, especially if you throw very hard.

We only recommend using yoyo lube as anything else is likely to damage the bearing.

I have a problem with a dial ,every time when i switch to easy the response pad from the right part of the yoyo just goes back to easy(even the string pushes it back) but the other one doesn't(i mean its normal) What can I do to tighten the dial?

It is nearly impossible to get that yoyo to sleep much longer than that. If you are looking to learn tricks we recommend you get a yoyo with a ball bearing, like the Sage.
