Due to previous injury history, I am quite sensitive to heel drop. From my experience, low drop, but not zero drop shoes are best for walking, no matter whether they are running shoes or other types of trainers. I can run from 4 to 8mm drop, but I can tell 4 to 6mm are the most comfortable for walking.
Great video Fordy as I am a walker/slow jogger. This time of year with holidays coming up it's always difficult to choose 2 pairs that can do everything including walking. My recent 2 choices for a trip to Austria were the Nike Peg Trail 4 and the New Balance 880 v12 GTX version. Keep up the good work 😊
Asics Nimbus for definite but I'd also through Puma Deviate Nitro 2 in the mix as well. Took mine to Italy and di 2 x 5k and 14 miles of walking in them as well as general knocking around and they were perfect! Got them on a deal from Start Fitness for less than £60!
I have an old pair of New Balance 860 that I retired a long time ago that I have retired from running a long time ago, however they refuse to die and I have since done many miles walking the dog etc. Good running (general purpose) running shoes I believe will outlast other trainers as these are designed for heavier use!
@fordyruns - I am a over pronator and I’m using Glycerin GTS 20 as my daily trainer. Would you suggest glycerin 21 over GTS coz I’m unable to find GTS at a good price compared to normal one?
@@Mike-gi4ft sorry didn’t realise it was a question just more an insult 🤣 the answer is clear I am not biased in anyway and if you watch any review you’ll see that but if you don’t believe me that’s fine go watch others
I'm currently exploring the Asics line of products. Haven't been able to spring for what they're asking for a current Nimbus/Cumulus, but the Gel-Glyde 3 (re-release of a previous GT 1000) has been a nice relevation. Receiving the Gel-Kayano 28 tomorrow, can't wait to see what that's like. I walk/hike/do light trail runs at about 160+ km per month, so the right footwear is crucial.
I love the Glycerin for travels! All black, good for walking and getting in a couple of runs when on vacation. Looks great with anything, too!

My experience is that low drop shoes are better for walking, higher the drop and the heavier the heel strike and less smooth transition.good luck.
I've been using Puma Magnify, On Cloud Ultra and Hoka Kawana for my work. Nike Pegasus Trails have been my go to walking shoes
I tested saucony ride 17 those feels pretty good. The white one also looks good with jeans and as a sneaker.
I have been using the Superblast from running to walking. Basically everything.
Unbelievable shoe
Love my nimbus 25 to walk in. When I get done with running in shoes I transition them to walking shoes.
I don't. If they're worn out for running, I find them no good for walking either. Some say walking wears them out quicker.
I love walking in Altra shoes. Don't love them for running, but my Via Olympus shoes are friggen amazing walking shoes.
number 2?

Glycerin 21! The best
I walked around Disney World last summer in a pair of On Cloudstratus 2 and they were super comfy for that.
Hey Fordy, how about the GT2000 12? Do you think they have too much squish?
Fordy I have the GhostMax 2 and it is excellent for walking and standing.
I also have the ASICS Nimbus 26 and is excellent as well.

Absolutely. As someone who enjoys city breaks, my Asics Nimbus 24 have been all around London Amsterdam Vienna…supremely comfortable.
Skechers for me they are great ,I wear them for travelling in too and they are so comfy 👍🏻👍🏻
Altra Torin 7!!!❤
Floatride Energy 5 is my pick. I walk 20k+ steps a day in them. They're a dream!
Would love to know what shoes you would recommend for the gym. I recently bought New Balance 520 which I use for work (gym) and for weight training.
Hello Fordy, what about the 1080 v13? The lack of stability is a problem for walking for normal feet?

Pegasus Trail's are my go to dog walking shoe. Comfy, readily available and last ages.
Like to Fordy. My vote goes to Asics Nimbus 26. Have a good day.
What’s your views on the altra brand?
I like them

Really like the ASICS, very comfortable but too narrow for me, even in the wide fit. Shame as I liked how comfortable they were.
I am wearing the Treks Airo barefoot shoes and love them for walking, I will never go back to regular shoes.
Reebok floatride energy adventure
Is it just a coincidence that the two shoes you recommend:Skechers sponsor the Long Run and you are affiliated with Brookes!
these comments always make me laugh... thanks for brightening up my day

@@Mike-gi4ft no bias here mate I’ll say what I like when I like and how I like I really don’t care

Is Gel Glyde 3 better than GT 2000 12 for walking?
All the latest asking and or running shoes have heels of 1.5 inches minimum. What’s with that!
Wait I thought everyone just walks and runs in their AF3
I thought hoka was decent ?
