I bought most of the shoes, these guys told me, so i now have: Superblast 1 and 2 Endorphine Speed 4 Puma Velocity Nitro 3 Saucony Hurricane 24, Puma Magmax Nitro Saucony Triumph 21 Agree with consensus opinion that Superblast is best.
@@mauriciosueros599 Well, as a heavy runner, it is love-hate relationship with Hurricane so far :) They are comfortable from the start, but after 7 km, my feet start to hurt. I guess it is not good for people with supination (like me), but if you are pronating, it might be fine. Triumph 21 worked better for me.
Superblast 2 all day.... Definitely not fastest at 5k, but I've ran it across all distances up to 50k and it's a gift that keeps giving. Also decent durability.
I'm a starting runner and still more than a bit of a plodder. Superblast 2 does everything I need right now. I actually have to make myself use other shoes just to even out wear and give it some rest.
Superblast is best for longer runs. Find some cheaper shoe for your other runs. And use the Superblast where it excels. One other shoe for easy runs and one for faster efforts. Cost is not a problem. You need to look at cost pr kilometer. And Superblast is very expensive. So you will save money.
Would love to see what you guys would pick for a full shoe rotation, including race day, and training, with the only limitation being a modest total combined £600 spend, and the intention of the shoes must last one full year of races and training. Would you pick 2 highend shoes, or go for 3 or 4 lower end shoes...🤔
We did our rotations vid earlier this year, might be some changes now but you get the idea! ruclips.net/video/eThN1kzoTBg/видео.html Mine of Meta Sky Paris, Vel Nitro 3 and Endo Speed 4 is under £600 I think, off the top of my head
I have the SB2, Neo Vista, and Mach 2. They are all great all-rounders with each having a different character. If I had to choose one for the widest variety of runs, it'd be the SB2. The midsole is also the most balanced feeling. The Neo Vista is definitely the softest and bounciest and best of the three for easy/recovery paces but can surprisingly pick up the speed and feel good when you push it. The Mach 2 is the fastest and the most propulsive of the three and best suited for tempo/threshold and intervals although it's okay for slower paces as well. I find the three very complementary to each other. I have many shoes, but this trio could probably replace everything else to cover virtually any type of run, including races as long as I'm not shooting for a PB, in which case I'd probably go with a dedicated carbon-plated racer like the Alphafly 3 or Metaspeed Sky Paris.
Absolutely loved the saucony speed 3 and did most of my marathon training in it, just felt so easy at every speed. Bought the 4 thinking the same but was a little disappointed, just didn’t have the same snappiness as the 3.
It’s funny watching Nick trying to talk slowly, presumably paying attention to some recent comments….personally, I don’t think its necessary, but really good of him to try 😂
Amazed and impressed that Nick's marathon pace is 3:30 and 5K pace is 3:10. Is that normal for someone of his (high) standard? Mike is bang on about PumaGrip and trails. I took my (third pair) of PVN2's onto the trails of the New Forest this morning and at no point did I miss my trail shoes.
3:10 pace for 5k is elite level .. meaning top 10 runners for most races .. 3:20 is sub elite .. my PB is 3:34 and I'm usually top 10 in local races (Canada)
@jean-phil That's great going mate and thanks for adding some colour to this :) but they are all 5K paces, yes? How do they compare to your marathon paces (was the point of my comment)?
Any chance you guys will be reviewing the Under Armour Velociti Pro? It’s UAs attempt at a super trainer with a pebax plate and a dual foam set up. On paper it’s close to the Mach X 2 and the Neo Vista among others on the category. UA shoes are always polarizing so seeing your multi tester review would be interesting! Great channel, love the content!!
this is why the superblast 2 sold out everywhere. they are just genuinely good for everyone from beginers to advanced runners, and now I want one too except there's not one left in my size 😅😅
Interested to hear what the Run Testers team's thoughts are regarding a daily trainer that will cope with wet pavements, wet park run courses (predominantly tarmac with wet leaves on them), and shaded paths that don't get that much sun in the autumn and winter. I ran in North Face Mens Summit Vectiv Sky trail shoes over 8k. Not ideal as there wasn't much trail, and it felt quite slippery on the wet tarmac. I ran the same route in Boston 12s after a torrential downpour and they didn't cope with shallow mud very well. I want something that will give a decent response and is lively, has good grip for the autumn and winter seasons, and can be used from 5k to 20k. Something that edges towards faster training but can cope with slower sessions would be ideal. Grateful for suggestions. Thanks.
Absolutely agree with the SuperBlast 2…as the best do it all shoe. I could NEVER think about doing an easy or recovery run in the Speed 4. The Speed 4 is too firm for easy/recovery…but more importantly…the Speed 4 does not want to run slow or easy at all. I constantly run at faster paces than targeted, when wearing the Speed 4. This is why I have the Speed 4 as my speed workout shoe. It is a great shoe, but for me, it’s got one job that it does very well…but it’s not great for everything.
I use Nike React 4 this shoe and have put alot of miles on it, I’m in the market for a new shoe, what do you recommend? I’m a natural arch, and run 5 miles a day 3 out of 7 days but looking to kick up the mileage and sometimes 10-13 miles and typically a heal to toe striker for smooth running also I’m trying to complete a 600+ miles challenge that lasts a year
Been reading a lot of negative reviews on the Mach X2 regarding blisters forming on the achilles. It's quite a big investment to make to result in painful blisters. Can someone chime in on their experiences?
I’ve got a pair of Saucony Speed 4s arriving this afternoon-my first time trying Saucony shoes! I’ve been running in the Puma Deviate Nitro 2s, so I’m excited to see how the Speed 4s compare. Can’t wait to take them out for a run this evening! 😁
@@z.3368 So some initial post first run thoughts. Right off the bat I wasn’t sure I was going to like these, the foam felt much firmer than the dn2’s. The dn2’s I can literally squish the foam with one hand, I can’t do that with the ses4’s and was thinking it was going to be too firm a ride for my liking. Two steps in that fear was expunged, the foam to touch is deceiving but this is by no means a firm shoe. They’re super responsive and nicely cushioned but you don’t have that bottomed out feeling. They also feel very stable at slower paces. I felt the dn2 could be a bit unstable at times, and could have done with some reinforcement around the heel. They also felt snappy as I picked up the pace, and as I spend more time in the shoe I can already tell I’m going to enjoy these. Only a quick 5 miles this evening but so far very impressed and looking forward to putting some miles down in these shoes.
Bought the Neo Vista with high hopes, but realised there was no space to do a runners loop due to the lace design. Disappointed as seemed great otherwise!
Hello, I have recently bought a pair of hoka Mach X2 and wanted to know about the durabily of these shoes, how many kms do you think they can last?, Thanks!
Guys, this is great but the Superblast 2 has been coming up in top picks for a long while now and features heavily here - the problem is where does someone who is not an influencer/youtuber get them? They're never in stock anywhere. I'd love a pair (in any colour), and would have loved a pair of Superblast 1 but they're just never available unless you have size 4 feet. I've been looking since the Superblast 1 came out but have never, ever seen either a 1 or 2 come up in my size 9, like ever... As I say, great video but the common theme'd recommendation is for shoe that people just can't buy.
I might be the only person in the world who would say this.. but the superblast just dont work for me.. i have both 1 and 2 ..still i fail to like them..i loved the speed and DN2
For me it is the novablast 4 its half the price of the superblast 2 because of the many discounts on the novablast 4 and its almost no different in performance.
I would not agree with the "almost no difference". If so a Jolt 4 runner could also say their is almost no difference to the Novablast beside its half the price. Novablast is a good shoe but their is a reason why Superblast's are out of stock. In the end both shoes are good. One is better but also more expensive. Better one costs more is clear... If the price is fair at all is subjective.
@@scherry2900 Superblast are out of stock because Asics makes far less of them, not because people buy more of them. Asics sells more total NB than SB shoes.
i can not stand the neo vista it was so soft i almost hurt myself plus after one run mizuno would not take them back had to resell on the secondary market

Kieran picks the Speed 4, all is good with the world! Great shoe, bought 2 weeks ago, love wearing. Mach 6 also very good.
I have loved this line of shoes for years now. I was devastated when I couldn't find cheap 2's any more before moving up to the 3. 😂
Mach X2 for me. Brilliant shoe for speed work
