Using the Brooks Glycerin 21 at the moment (especially with being injured so more walking ) however I really did like the 1080v13 and put over 400 miles in them before passing to salvation army
A lot of love for the Velocity Nitro 3. I picked up a pair of Velocity Nitro 2 for £50 which are still an excellent option. I actually prefer them to the 3 which are noticeably more narrow
@@nicholasellems9937 still so many sizes and colourway available for £50ish on most sports shoe sites, will probably pick up a waterproof pair to keep for winter
The hurricane nailed my Achilles with the plastic internal heel support I had to return them. I have NB4 but want more foam for long runs, FFX too soft for my liking , I love a rocker and pop, maybe skyflow?
saucony Hurricane 24 I don't know if it's a design change or a defective product. The shoes on the official Saucony website are different from the actual shoes. I think the hotspot was created when I changed the back of the midsole of the shoe.
Would love to see a video on ‘regular’ shoes that could work for a newbie marathon - maybe daily shoes that are cushioned enough for longer distances, but have good energy return. I realise carbon plated shoes would be the ‘best’ choice, but for those on a budget, a capable daily shoe is more likely for beginners to the marathon - I’m possibly thinking Hoka Mach 6 and the like. Thanks!
Try out novablast 4 , but a lot of these shoes would work to try as newer runners for the marathon. You do not need carbon plated shoes , nick is the fast amateur that those shoes will make a difference for , but for non competitive runners there are great shoes like novablast 4 at best price for value range you should check out . Look for new balance 1080 v13 to go on sale as v14 comes soon? When new model comes out pick up the old model for premium shoes like this is a good trick !
Ride 17. Nothing revolutionary but they work really well. Swapped from Boston 12 as they hard plastic uppers were digging into my instep. Ride 17 has nearly 300 miles and has very little wear so far. It does fit a touch too long though like a 1/4 of size too long.
I don't know why Nike has discontinued the TEMPO NEXT% line. I have done controlled testing and no other shoe that I have tested can match the energy return of those shoes including all of the Alphafly and Vaporfly shoes. It is a heavy shoe but that is actually good for training. It makes a lighter racing shoe feel great on race day.
Thanks gents. Tom, other than the stability aspect, would you put the Hurricane 24 in the same genre as the More v5, Topo Atmos, and Ghost Max 2 in terms of recovery? I ask because I'm in the market for a recovery shoe to replace the More v4, which is near end-of-life. Are there other recovery shoes you would recommend? Thank you.
@@jembesjembes1I have novablast 4 tr and use it as my daily . Just awesome cushion response and midsole is durable, not too soft or firm ! Tr edition had more outsole traction for the gravel road style trails near my home. Love it and just not the newer release but folks should check it out . Awesome value for the price !
Nice video, thanks. I am looking for a mid stack shoe for easy miles and recovery beacuse my (narrow) feet (toes) get numb running in high stack cushioned shoes. I prefer a snug feel shoe with a grippy outsole due to weather conditions in autumn and winter time. What shoe would you advise to use for easy runs and recovery runs only?
i was waiting for the 100kg runner, nvtl great video!
As a 90 kg runner novablast 4 works well.
Using the Brooks Glycerin 21 at the moment (especially with being injured so more walking ) however I really did like the 1080v13 and put over 400 miles in them before passing to salvation army
Love how everyone’s easy pace is my race pace or considerably better 😂 Way to make me feel like trash 😅😂 (joke)
Hurricane 24 just like Triumph 20/21 has been home room. And it’ll be my next cushion shoe.

the outsole pattern is better on the 2 too
@@JoutarouKuujou1Both 2 and 3 are super narrow in the forefoot / toebox.
3 is too narrow. Had to return. On to my third pair of 2’s and still incredible

Just the video topic I was looking for, thanks.

👍🏻 Tom's choice
top review as always. Mike - when is that whisky on the sideboard getting drunk?

Thank you for the video.
NB 4 my favourite.
Hoka Skyward X for me. So much fun to run in for any distance. For non-plated I would say Hoka Skyflow and Brooks Ghost Max 2. Great video!
Ever considered reviewing the Topo brand? The Atmos could have a place in this category I think. Keep up the great and
honest reviews!

Because it is 🗑🗑🗑
@@leonardo3399 You are wrong. It is a fantastic training shoe.
Absolutely loved it, but 2 pairs had 2 issues so never got any more pairs 😭
I have Triumph 22, Novablast 4 and Fresh Foam More V4 for cushioned shoes.

ASICS Novablast for me
One of the few shoes that I find works for my average, natural shaped feet (wider in forefoot). Adidas works well too.
I have triumph 21, endorphin speed 4 and Novablast 4
The one I grab the most is Novablast !
I was waiting for them to bring this one up, wondering why they weren't mentioning it. Thankfully Tom did right at the end 👍

Would you say they for sprint training? Interval 300s or 150s and such

❤ YES TEAM Puma Velocity Nitro 3!
Too narrow in the toebox, their Wide size is more suited for the average foot.
I like them a lot! I also have the Adidas Supernova and i find myself looking for the Puma way more often
I concur!
why the Velocity ?? Electrify Nitro 3 is clearly better for cushion (and stability and durability).
Great picks! What socks does Mike wear in these clips?
Superblast for me
Why not adizero SL2?
Was expecting tom to pick neo vista, and kieran to pick endorphin speed

Puma velocity nitro 3.
Asics cumulus 🎉
Hi. Thankyou for the reviews. I would appreciate the opinion of a female runner and also someone who runs at slower paces.
Novablast is no brainer
How is Nick's marathon pace so close to his 5k pace?
Mizuno Neo Vista ???

Not a single Adidas in view... 🤔
Yeah, SL2 is top of the list for most people but not here.
Too bad you can’t find the superblast anywhere
No Zoom X in sight?
I think the Invincible is the only highly cushioned Nike I know anyone runs in.
