Jarry really deserved this match, looked like he was enjoying the level of intensity Carlos brings and fed off of it.
Carlos was outmuscled and outsmarted.
Alcaraz is an annoying grunt machine and hyped a lot🤣🤣, nothing else. On the otherhand sinner is cool calm and composed and steady also.
Amazing Jarry gone a be top ten very soon
@@R.R.1979 We have to see how he does next week at the Chile Open, since in that tournament I defend many points since he defends the championship.

What a performance from Jarry, well done to him. I feel bad for Alcaraz he’s missing something, i hope he figures it out sooner.
He's missing a serve. It's got decent pace, but there is no placement at all. In the second set most of his 1st serves were landing in the center of the box and Jarry started teeing off on it. He served well last year, so he's capable, but it's been missing for a few months now.
@@trevorpullen3199 hopefully for not long!
He is only 20 and human.
No doubt. It'll improve. Nadal also had a pretty weak serve until he got into his upper 20's. Djokovic's serve also wasn't that good until his 30's. Of the big 3, I'd argue Federer was the only one who was a really good server. Alcaraz doesn't need a great serve, just needs to improve his accuracy a little.@@haniffmohamoodally

Not is the new Fernando González Mano de Piedra
Gracias rey
Jarry's groundstrokes are so deep and they have pace. His serve is big too.
It seems Jarry was consciously attacking Alcaraz's backhand with heavy and deep top spin balls, pushing Carlos away of the court to then hitting a bomb with the forehand. That's incredibly annoying to deal with (and also extremely difficult to be done consistently). Jarry uses to try to play like that often, but back in the day when he wasn't at that high level he has today he was hitting like 50% of that balls out. He improved that dramatically the last year.
Btw: Last Wimbledon Jarry was the only player to take a set from Alcaraz on his way to the final.
Carlos might have been not feeling comfy with the court, but that's also in part because of the incredible level shown by Jarry.
I hope he keeps up with it!
Does anyone on tour strike the ball harder shot after shot than Jarry? Impressive net play as well. Seems to have overpowered Alcaraz, one of the greatest power players in the world
Basically all his shots were deep, and in. It's hard to play that.
According to tennis insight Jarry has the fastest forehand of the top 20 with the average speed of 131 km/h (81.4 mph) only an unknown player hits harder at 135 km/h (83.8 mph). But as we don't know who that is, yes you can say that no one hits harder that Nicolas Jarry
sinner strikes the ball extremely well
No, on average he is the hardest hitter. He moves incredibly well for his height and as taken a big step forward mentally.
Another factor that helped Jarry overpower Carlos is that he stood very close to the baseline and took the ball on the rise. So absorbed power redirected it even better.
Not many stay that close to the baseline
I did not see Alcaraz losing... I only saw Jarry winning and playing some of the most aggressive and precise tennis I have seen 💥🎾🔥
That's exactly what I saw too.... Alcaraz was up for it, but Jarry schooled him with those service returns.
preach! Alcaraz had some amazing points, but that was not enough, Jarry absolutely outplayed him.
Escape from Alcatraz!!!

Estoy sin palabras... JARRY: 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Jarry is cool as a cucumber even after this biggest win of his career so far. No falling on the floor or display of emotion. Like this is just another day. No big reason to celebrate maybe. Perhaps his mind is at another level?
Bros goals are beyond our comprehension
I think he has simple strategy that he returns to and that works. He plays high percentage tennis with a lot of skill and power. I think with this kind of approach it makes it easier to be cool, sometimes Carlos has too many options because he’s got every shot in the book and maybe doesn’t stick to what works best for him as much as he could. Also, when Jarry isn’t missing he is a problem for just about anyone with that firepower
Great point. It’s as if Jarry expected himself to win.
I think he is just pissed at the crowd being so disrespectful, and was thinking that he needs to face this again to beat yet another Argentinian at the final. If you look at the first round win against Wawrinka he was much more effusive after winning.
It's indiference to the hostile argentinina crowd. He just talks on the court and then literally tells them to f.... off
Is it me or is Carlitos’ starting to be overpowered? Seems like when he plays monster hitters like Sinner or Jarry, he can’t hang. Congrats to Jarry. Hope he’ll win it all 🙌🏾🎉
Also guys with big serves. He’s really struggled against Zverev of late.
@@rikwallant9901 probably because his racket is so light. Needs to add weight, same with sinner (which I think sinner just did). Can't be playing against monster hitters with 320 static weight. I'm not a pro but I hit very hard, people I usually play with had to get heavier rackets to deal with my ball. 320 is too light against big hitters.
@@dannylaza1326excellent point. I think he has an issue with heavier balls and slower conditions like the match vs zverev at night or today, but Wimbledon was notn that quick either and the balls are heavy too, but maybe the speed was enough for him. yes, i agree he will definitely need to adjust something for slower conditions.
@z1az285 it's strange because he has had so much success on clay.
@@z1az285 I think his previous success was due to the people he played against not really hitting hard at all. Most people didn't really hit "hard" until he came around. Remember we are in the "weak era" or whatever they call it. But due to Alcaraz coming in a blowing everyone off the court, now everyone hits hard. I noticed during the highlights that twice his racket got hit out of his hand with a ball. When does that ever happen? I can only imagine that happening when the ball is heavy and your using a very light racket. I use a racket that weights around 350g and have never felt a ball that would shoot the racket out of my hand.

Alcaraz considered by the entire world of world tennis as one of the greatest exponents of clay, defeated in a second set in an incredible way by Jarry, taking into consideration the lack of respect from the local public who has been supporting his rivals all week. and never giving up is incredible, Jarry is having a fantastic start to the year
Your comment about Carlos silly. Rafa has always been known as the "King of Clay" not Carlos.
If the comment is stupid for you, I think the smartest thing would be not to answer it "you don't think so"... greetings with all due respect (I would say something to you if I had said something about Nadal, whether positively or negatively) but that is not the case.. .

Carlos is still super young lets not forget that. Genuinely believe he's just going through a rough patch right now. Long term I think he'll be fine honestly. Crazy how people here in the comments are doubting him, enjoy it for now.
If reaching semis and quarters in most of the tournaments is considered rough for him, it means this is how good he is, sure he will level up during the current season and i see him clinching at least one slam this year
It is just that everyone has adapted to his drop shot game by now, so he is not getting the rewards anymore. Also Djokovic came back on tour. Do you remember Zverev? When he came up he started beating the big 3, and then the tour adapted to his game and it took him a long time to make an impact. We are talking about a shorter player with a lack of wingspan who can't easily find the down the line shots or depth without top spin, and so people just exploit that over and over. At 182cm, Carlos is just very short for a top 50. Carlos' s stop spin balls are no bother for taller players like Sinner, Zverev and Jarry, especially when they land so short.
totally agree ! novak after AO 08 went trought a rough patch for 2 whole seasons. It made him the player he was in 2011. Alcaraz will be fine !!!
@@Tackle_Visible Djokovic had a diet issue that caused him to have physical durability problems. No indication that there is any such similarity with Alcaraz
He's not playing bad, just not up to his standard
What an impressive win for Jarry! Top 5 potential!!!
Alcaraz didn't seem to be able to get to grips with how slow and heavy the court was. He really seemed to be fighting against it rather than settling down and constructing points. Jarry looked so much more comfortable.
this is it. i couldnt figure out what it was, but you spoke my mind. it seems alacaraz wasnt getting his quick rewards
He is missing centimenters. Smaller wingspan and lower impact point means it is hard for him against players that push him behind the baseline. Purely from a geometric standpoint, even with his speed, it's just not possible. He has the same issue against all tall players who play deep and hard and change directions.
Carlos relies on attacking tennis, on those slower clay courts gives the same impression that Federer gave sometimes - tried to attack but lost from the back of the court. Nadal was unbeatable from the back of the court but Carlos really struggles to make an impact, his forehand becomes extremely short and attackable. He has no ball length.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Alcaraz play that far back the baseline. Congrats to Jarry!

Alcaraz:
1: Stop grunting (why did you even start this?)
2: Go back to your old game style. Play with fun, heart and touch instead of „forcing it“ and aggression.

my guy is 8 feet tall
Jarry is a beast on clay, the surface gives him the time he needs to hit madly hard.

[Summary: I blame Carlos Team]
What differentiate Carlos and Jannik is the team behind them. Carlos' team banked on his raw natural talent while Jannik's team work and strategize with him in order to build his game. If Carlos doesn't change his approach to the game, he'll be the next Grigor but with shorter career (good for Carlos to win Slams already) because that body is injury-prone the older it gets, and we know how Carlos known for his crazy theatrics and hustle. And his serve, oh boy, clearly the team around him just simply banked on the fact that they got an energetic and very hard-working kid on their palm and not even trying to sharpen that serve of his, his on-court mentality and self-belief or even refine his overall shot selection. JCF and the rest of his coaching team should take this title drought and lack of final more seriously. Hope Carlos bounced back quick, win in Rio maybe?
Wouldn’t it be cool if Sinner’s coaches also coached Carlos?
You have some good points. His playing style, too, is a bit grueling, and you can only last so long playing like that.
@@ProbablyLying There's plenty of good coach that can certainly give Carlos good input out there. I think as an athlete, it's pretty much okay to part ways with coach that the athlete feels like already exhaust all their resources and expertise yet hit the plateau anyway. Maybe Carlos could wait and see until Monte Carlo or after RG before making the decision? Hopefully by then, he find clarity on what is the source of this title drought
Sinner clearly has the best team on tour, look how well they work together and they are all friends
@@CL2- When Sinner's streak ends and it will, the long knives will come out for him and his team. Carlos' team is solid. He's young and still has areas for improvement which they are well aware. He'll get titles again. He's too talented.
people seems to forget clay or gravel is jarry's playground,so its no surprise he defeated alcaraz
