My art has a lot of Chinese blocks and strikes. I recognize the “poc” down block followed up by a straight punch and other strikes.. I see a lot of similarities in your style.
Lol. The best way to stop a punch is to punch first. Lol. That was Lees' motto too. Hit first, fast and hard. Mine. The best defense, is a great offense.
You’re right and while I agree with the concept of striking to the centreline and not chasing punches; the reality is that it is the hardest concept or principle to apply. The danger is inexperienced practitioners will take the theory literally as the solution and it’s not. These principles require thousands of hours of sparring and fighting for it to work. If you don’t do that then all it is, is ‘theory’ and let’s face it: there are many WCers that ‘talk’ theory and lack genuine ability or experience.
Please don't take this as disrespect. But I'm going to ask if you can create a companion video showing a real jab. As a boxer - arm length and speed are crucial elements not being shown here. As well as the stutter fake ( Tyson Fury loves doing this, and Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s is almost imperceptible) Maybe if someone doesn't know how to fight they might leave their arm out there to trap, but a boxer will test the waters with a light jab and if you attempt to trap and it fails, they'll set up a stutter fake double jab and follow with a straight. IF that doesn't take the wing chun practitioner out, then the boxer will have lost due to closing the gap and being in close range for trapping, etc. As always infinite respect and you have another excellent video.
Honestly I don’t need to. Here’s the deal, we don’t wait. We have no clue if someone on the street is a boxer, wrestler or bar drunk. So, we JAM IN immediately. Not going to wait to see if you jab correctly or not. If it’s a fight, I’m going right in no matter what.

What is the conditioning for this one
Thanks
@Izzo Wing Chun i would like to ask, is it possible to use bong sao against a swinging overhead right hand?
What is the best defense and counter against a swinging overhead right hand?
Good comedians
nice and simple
As a noob, the first thing I could block is using with Bong Sao for any punches. I kinda need to improve my reflexes in order to save my ass. Wing Chun was meant to express like a meditation and for defending, avoiding unnecessary violence.
I had my anger issues. I expressed out without casualties by venting through Sil Nim Tao.
Totally agree, strike first, faster then him
Mr. Izzo. I have information to share with you
Right and left jabs ?
Amazing - thank you ✋
Awesome video awesome techniques.. I would also like to ask you could you put a video on for the older people out there how to protect theirselves when they have poor health or definitely when they have problems breathing. I think that would be a big help to the older community also with anybody that has a breathing problem young or old that would be a big help to the community God bless brother definitely appreciate you and for what you're doing for the community you are a awesome teacher God bless brother
I agree with you so much!!! I would literally love to take elderly people to wing chun classes and tell them its "just exercise class"
I would love to learn from you.
Good clear explanation...really couldn't ask for more. -Thanks! ;-) I'm just a total 'beginner' trying to garner more info. about this style.
Great to hear!
I would love to see some moving continuously in order to see a flow between to artist is so peaceful. I was unable to find any sparring or moving in your videos do you have any other than the one step demos?
Because “sparring” isn’t Wing Chun.
@@IzzoWingChun Respectfully, I was assuming that you would have implemented your Wing Chun into a sparring session otherwise how does it translate to defending oneself against a style or blended styles that do train including sparring and continuous movement? I am in no way being inflammatory I just don't understand if you fight like you train but your training doesn't include real life contact sparring how does that work?
@@davidelam7869 you assumed wrong.
The answer is it doesn't work when you go live. That's why there are no videos of it. And neither of these guys have the cardio to go live.
@@0331mike I agree this would not work in the street as you would need to implement continuous movement and kinetic energy in a disciplined yet aggressive manner that I do not see demonstrated in these One Step videos as for their cardio I'm uncertain as to how good it is or not the one thing I have learned in my journey looks can be deceiving and it's hard to judge a book by its cover
You only....intercept by..moving forward.
Keep nullifying the threat by aggressiveness UNTIL the threat is gone and or run after
Love these vids!
Every block is a strike … every strike is a block
My art has a lot of Chinese blocks and strikes. I recognize the “poc” down block followed up by a straight punch and other strikes.. I see a lot of similarities in your style.
Ja ja ja ja this is funny 🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣🤣
Cool video sifu
You can also press b+2
Sifu, do you advocate moving to the outside at a forward 45 degree angle when possible?
“Blind side” stepping?
Yessir. Moving to the outside of their attack, I just find it hard sometimes to move while attacks are coming in, especially at close range.
Lol. The best way to stop a punch is to punch first. Lol. That was Lees' motto too. Hit first, fast and hard.
Mine. The best defense, is a great offense.
Nice sir
You’re right and while I agree with the concept of striking to the centreline and not chasing punches; the reality is that it is the hardest concept or principle to apply. The danger is inexperienced practitioners will take the theory literally as the solution and it’s not. These principles require thousands of hours of sparring and fighting for it to work. If you don’t do that then all it is, is ‘theory’ and let’s face it: there are many WCers that ‘talk’ theory and lack genuine ability or experience.
Yes , so good, lmao when you said you would be taking a hit....lol. Best true advice, all of it. Thanks
Of course there are exceptions to the norm, but generally action beats reaction.
I missed this IZZO I must say I like the movie attack 😁💪🏽
good video.
