Outstanding!!! Goosebumps!!!!! Thank you for filming, while you would be just expected to be enjoying your flight, then sharing. The days to fly on it are long gone, the way you captured it are the next best thing. Thank you 👍
@romengg That is the power back point- Its when the afterburners are switched off after leaving the Heathrow fence to keep residents happy. It creates a back falling feeling in the cabin because of the fast decrease in power. You will notice that the cabin seems much more quiet after this point too.
Very cool video. Letting you film while boarding the plane and the cockpit door open, so you can watch the pilots. Those days are long gone......great footage.
I got to go in one on the ground but never flew in one. I saw it fly above me many times and it left me in awe. Concorde is one of mankind's greatest engineering achievements and it is sad that young people today can only know it as history.
i feel sad being born too late to see this beautiful plane flying with my own eyes. The concorde must have been something very special. Like other people here i find it quiet interesting how the pilot is interacting with the passengers. I would love to get a glance at an commercial airplane cockpit during flight but i know its not possible because of procedures and security. Thanks for sharing this video!
@ rockymountainrandom..... that what was known as the "concorde countdown"...unlike regular subsonic planes, that begin a slow roll down the runway as they take off and build speed...the concorde would take position at the end of the runway, and on the count 3-2-1, the pilot would throw all 4 afterburners on at once (38,000 lbs of thrust multiplied by 4 engines) and that would allow the concorde to go from zero to 280mph take off speed in under 30 seconds..
Concord was like the ship called the Great Eastern. Brilliant ship, just 50 years ahead of its time. Supersonic passenger travel is about to really take off again!!!!!!
Hi Dave.... i know what youre talking about man..ive dreamed of the concorde since i was a kid too...im just so grateful to have had the chance to fly her....
Whoa the sky at 7:42 is phenomenal. It looks like your actually out of earth! I would love to have flown in one of those depending on price but at this point even if they did bring them back it would be too sketchy.
@rockymountainrandom No, that's when they go into noise abatement procedures, and the reheat (afterburners) are turned off. He's saying "3, 2, 1, noise" The ship's acceleration comes to a rather drastic decline if all 4 are done at the same time, or close to the same time (most cases, they'd be turned off in pairs, to lessen that effect). Apparently, the people are reacting to that sudden draw-down in acceleration.
When the Concorde was ready to commercially fly and accommodate passengers, almost all the Countries were reluctant to welcome the Concorde. The Middle Eat State of Bahrain was the only Country that welcomed the Concorde. I was so lucky to fly the FIRST British Airways Concorde flight from London to Bahrain. The Concorde, then, was equipped with 100 seats and the number of the passengers of the first flight was only 17 (seventeen). One of the Passengers on my first B.A. flight was a very old man. We were told that this old man was the Pilot who tested a first commercial flight, long time ago. His flight crashed. His co-pilot perished and the old man survived to become among the Passengers of the First Concorde flight ever. We were served champagne "Don Peri....", Russian Caviar and a sumptuous dinner. Our trip on the first Concorde Flight was very amusing. It took much longer than scheduled because the Pilots were speeding, then slowing when flying over Countries that did not like the sound, although we were 62,000 feet high. My subsequent Concorde Flights were on "Air France", but they had already added twenty more seats due to the excessive number of demand to fly the Concorde. British Airways mailed a beautiful Certificate to each Passenger who flew the First B.A. Concorde. I cherish this Certificate and proud to show it to my Family and friends. Sorry to miss the Concorde.
It's a David Goodwin Charter Flight. These were short flights available for reasonable money. Hence no thrills service like First Lounge, etc. Flights were either to Filton, Bristol or the Bay of Biscay and back, if my memory serves me well. Very popular with retirees as you can see.
ty for sharing a bit of history with us. I used to marvel at them whenever in London or Paris. Now all there is, is a fast glimpse of that lonely standing museum type structure sitting at CDG. DO they have one on display @HTR do u know? Loved the pilot commentary too. So interesting to see the view of the cockpit; how times have changed.
They have Charlie at Manchester I believe, in Filton the have Foxtrot, Delta is unfortunately rusting and in poor condition at the intrepid air museum in the USA..
After 3.2.1. There is a requirement for engine noise reduction,(noise abatement). The engines' afterburners (re-heat) are switched off shortly after the take-off run to greatly reduce engine noise. As a result of this, the engine power suddenly reduces, causing a jolt with a slight falling feeling. It caught me by suprise when i was lucky to go on a test flight when I used to work there with BA. Re-heat greatly increases engine power but is heavy on fuel and is only used for take-off and going trans-sonic .
I know this is an old video but, if pilots these days were taking to the passengers as much as they were in this video, I think that would be comforting. And super cool :) at least for aviation enthusiasts like me.
I flew on a Southwest Airlines jet to L.A.X one time. the Captain actually did say a few words before and during takeoff... but it did end right away. I thought it was cool though
@Andrew Miller Yeah it's cool to talk to passengers and fly at the same time. They say that a Concorde pilot were chosen after a more severe and tougher test/training compared to a NASA astronauts in those days...
sure ur right, however they missed the glass double doors to heaven at heathrow, how great was that ! picture windows and a fantastic view of Concorde from the Concorde Lounge, and the wonderful champanges, and Great food ...
@ abaj001.....at 4;50 in the video...the reaction you hear is when the pilot cut off all 4 afterburners after takeoff... when rolling down the runway..concorde is using all 4 afterburners or 38,000 lbs of thrust x 4 engines....and taking off at 270 mph....about 1 minute after liftoff....the pilots have to cut out all 4 afterburners out of consideration of the noise levels on the suburbs surrounding Heathrow Airport
One day, regular normal morning at school aged 10, I got asked by my teacher to follow her to see the head/principle. I walked into his office and my wonderful Mum was there. I couldn’t understand what I’d done wrong and was so confused. So she drove me a few miles saying we’re going to London Stansted where she worked as a ground agent and only 4 miles away. We got there, my eyes lit up as we saw Concorde landing. Then she asked, “do you want to fly on it?” I was totally confused, but indeed I did. It was repositioning from London Stansted to Heathrow (not supersonic) after another supersonic charter. We did a very light weight take-off and the acceleration/climb actually frightened me! We were a modest family, I alway thank my Mum for saving and giving me that trip. Not many that can say they’ve done STN-LHR on Concorde G-BOAG. ❤️
@Jll3001...the reason why they stopped the concorde was a combination of the failing world economy...airbus which is the company that provided the parts for concorde didnt want to keep production costs to maintain parts for the aircraft.... passenger volume was down. yes, it was an amazing honor to ride on such a legendary aircraft
rockymountainrandom no the second 3.2.1 call is when the reheats are turned off and the throttles are pulled back to the TLA bug (Throttle Level Angle) for noise abatement
Used to see her frequently where I lived, Gerrards Cross. A stone's throw away from Heathrow where my father worked as an avionics engineer, for BA, on the Concorde fleet
@flyer92ify yeah much like the shutdown of the first/second stages of the early boosters used by NASA, ecspecaily the saturn V. That same effect on the saturn was quoted by a few astronaughts as saying it felt like being catapulted throught the dashboard
great video. would have been cool to see some footage from the landing too. anyway, i see it was in a more innocent era when people were still allowed to visit the cockpit...
Why did they abandon the concorde flights? I mean, it only crashed once right? Though this looks like an awesome aircraft to fly in, must've been a great honor for you to be able to participate on one of the few flights it only had!
A teacher of mine who flew the concorde told us when they turned the afterburners back on for supersonic acceleration and climb you could feel your body pushed back in your seat by the force, true?
@Suzla1 ...i tried my best ot capture the experience as best i could...i couldnt tape all aspects from every angle...i was only one person taping while also being thrilled by the experience of being on board such a beautiful plane...
Can i ask why did they bus you out to Concorde ? i also have flown her a few times, and always departed from the lounge LHR/JFK, except @ Dulles airport Nice Video however !
What would have happened if the were turbulence when he was in the cockbit and pressed with his hands or something against the flight engineers control board
Wow, back in the day when the cockpit doors were left open on planes. Heck, can you imagine if Concordes had been hijacked on 9/11 instead of 767s and 757s?
That's all you COULD do... imagine it. Because: 1) Concorde's not coming back. Sad, but true. 2) Concorde was nowhere near fast enough to do even western China from London in only 4hrs.
Sigh. ... one step forwards... five back. Pity it was uneconomic to undertake another c check on BA and AF fleet... what with the uniqueness of this beautiful aircraft it was also a mission for Airbus to keep parts available. Such a sad loss to aviation.
I was a boy that year, and I do remember seeing that familiar delta shaped plane in the sky. Nostalgia. 💯❤️👌😎
That acceleration on take off must've been incredible
Outstanding!!!
Goosebumps!!!!!

Lovely film - great that you caught so much of the whole experience and thanks for sharing with us!
Best Concorde passenger takeoff video I've seen.
What an amazing video and for time an even more amazing quality
That was some amazing video, thanks for it.

Fantastic!!!
Awesome video...it was my dream to fly on Concorde and i missed it! This is the closest I'll get ☺
If I own a airline Concorde will be in the fleet IDK how expensive it is I WILL FLY IT
Awwesome video, thank you
Hi Dave....
i know what youre talking about man..ive dreamed of the concorde since i was a kid too...im just so grateful to have had the chance to fly her....
Hi Liamsandie...the registration on this concorde was the BOAC
it literally was the trip of a lifetime....lol
glad you enjoyed it
T
My cousin became qualified on Concorde 24th July 2000 her 1st commercial flight was 19th November 2001.
It took 5mins to get to Iceland from London
c'est une très belle vidéo!! c'est et restera le plus belle avion jamais construit!! il faut en reconstruire un ..
Thanks Sir

@ iproassasinz.... im glad you liked the video...i really wanted to give the experience as much justice as possible
Brilliant camera work, making the windows seem larger than they are :-)

Every time I watch such videos, I remember that I was also a passenger of this unique plane.
Oh lord! Looks like some of the passengers there were the same ones 30 years ago from the first Concord's take off!

G-BOAB is parked at Heathrow and can only be seen from the road (A30) near terminal 4.
What happens at 4:50 in the video?
I can't understand the words from the pilot but all the passengers feel good about it.

+Andrew Miller they can't. something to do with two quite similar towers that (like this plane) are not in service anymore.
I flew on a Southwest Airlines jet to L.A.X one time. the Captain actually did say a few words before and during takeoff... but it did end right away. I thought it was cool though

what was the pilot talking about at 4:48 that made people inside giggle. I heard the countdown but i couldn't understand what he was saying.
rockymountainrandom no the second 3.2.1 call is when the reheats are turned off and the throttles are pulled back to the TLA bug (Throttle Level Angle) for noise abatement
i like that pilot
I miss the double boom at 10pm over my house as she went over.
Used to see her frequently where I lived, Gerrards Cross. A stone's throw away from Heathrow where my father worked as an avionics engineer, for BA, on the Concorde fleet
At the moment I wish I was born earlier so that I someday would experience this + being able to enter the cockpit as a passenger.
Nice video, did you also hear/feel the sonic boom on board?
@flyer92ify yeah much like the shutdown of the first/second stages of the early boosters used by NASA, ecspecaily the saturn V. That same effect on the saturn was quoted by a few astronaughts as saying it felt like being catapulted throught the dashboard
Hi rubberdinghyrapids....i was on route London to ny
Chingón!!!💪💪💪
@ Xmandalorex.... i couldnt agree with you more...they do need to bring this beautiful white bird back to the skies
great video. would have been cool to see some footage from the landing too. anyway, i see it was in a more innocent era when people were still allowed to visit the cockpit...
Why didn't you film it going over the speed of sound?
Passenger cabin display Mach 1.75
Why did they abandon the concorde flights? I mean, it only crashed once right?

Please bring her back!

God i wish i could have flown on Concorde just once😭😭😢
What happened at 4:49 after the pilot said "3, 2, 1"? Was that when it broke the sound barrier? I couldn't hear what the pilot was saying.
Switched off the engine afterburners to reduce ground noise, but it creates quite a jolt! Sound barrier a lot later, away from land, over the ocean.
@crazydiamond he was saying "noise abatement , coming up in 3 ..2..1.. there we are..wheels up...away we go
Lucky I wanted to fly on a Concorde
what registration was this concorde?
G-BOAC You can see AC just above nose wheel
Thanks for the response. Id forgot the question
@@liamsandie you are welcome. the video was a bit shakey, i am sure it was alpha charlie and not alpha golf.
@Suzla1 ...i tried my best ot capture the experience as best i could...i couldnt tape all aspects from every angle...i was only one person taping while also being thrilled by the experience of being on board such a beautiful plane...
@ tobiasf1...
im glad you liked it my friend...all the best
wow what was it like?
Can i ask why did they bus you out to Concorde ? i also have flown her a few times, and always departed from the lounge LHR/JFK, except @ Dulles airport
Nice Video however !
When this video was made I was 2 months and 24 days from being born.
Love that beautifully flat horizon 😍
How were you allowed in the cockpit???
before the 11s pilots usually allow people going inside the cockpit but now it's something banned
This is before 9/11. It was allowed back then.
I see
Still can with special promotions with some airlines/aircraft flyers will let you EX airforce if u have those promotions
Before 9/11 I felt I hadn't got my money's worth if I didn't go in the cockpit on a flight.
Good ending credits :)
thanks for the kind words iridium
What would have happened if the were turbulence when he was in the cockbit and pressed with his hands or something against the flight engineers control board
Do you remember the registration of this lady? (I refer to the Concorde as ladies or old girls... 3 generations of RAF, it's the norm)
I could make out AC above the nose wheel, G-BOAC
@flyer92ify Ok, thanks for the reply!.
Alguém concorda que esse Avião precisa ser reconstruído novamente? 🇧🇷
Simmmm
Not twelve but young enough to never have seen the Concorde in flight, I also live in Sweden so there were no Concordes flying around here.
12 years later...
Wuawwwww 👍
Was this the special flights they did with subsedized ticket prices for ordinary folks ?
your so lucky
Wow, back in the day when the cockpit doors were left open on planes. Heck, can you imagine if Concordes had been hijacked on 9/11 instead of 767s and 757s?
🤣🤣 love the titles
gosh wasn't it cramped
0:43 This looks kinda like a phone 😅 This dude is beyond his time
Don't lose cabin pressure on the Concorde. Your blood would boil.
march 2 increible
@ bigguy7265123...the flight engineer was saying to prepare for takeoff and to hold on to any loose fitting jewelry...glasses or false teeth
What is the pilot saying at 4:45 - 4:51
"Approaching noise abatement climb any second now, 3-2-1- noise, reheat [selected off], throttling back, and lowering the nose"
I really wanted to do this!.. =( i wasn't lucky enough!..
Alitalia???(3:28)
