This spinning camera technique could be used super effectively in a horror film. Characters do something similar to find out what's down there-- just before the spinning camera is pulled back up into the pipe, we see something terrifying enter frame for a second-- but since the frame is spinning, we can't grasp what we saw and then it's gone. Maybe only the sounds it makes chase us up the pipe...
„Grave Encounters“ did something akin to this, with the ghost camera that had a film that needed to be developed later on. If the crew had ever made it out of the haunted asylum they would never have gone ghost hunting again. ^^
Yall found an abandoned well casing - likely for an old water well. You can still see the old connection pipe next to the casing in some frames. They likely hit that cavern when drilling and possibly broke off part of the drill string, which is what you saw on the cave floor. Could also be a vent pipe for an abandoned mine - but that looked like a natural feature and it wouldn't explain the fallen casing at the end.
@@dreamzincolorsthis is partially correct though, because obsidian is formed by lava cooling rapidly, which water does. although water is not needed, it can help.
When I was younger I used to work on a core drilling rig, doing samples for mineral exploration. Occasionally while drilling properties that had been mined in the past we would hit old-timer shafts, mine shafts from way back that were never mapped properly, you never knew when you would hit one. It would usually be the end of that particular drill hole, once we were able to get the hole started again, but was really hard to do with all that drill steel wobbling around at the bottom of the shaft. This could be an old shaft, or a natural cave hard to tell. Judging from the roundness of the rocks I saw at the bottom, I initially would lean towards natural, but they could have easily been rocks tossed down from the surface years ago. Without seeing the area away from directly under the bore hole, I can't say for sure. The object at the bottom, resembles something we used to call an overshot and was used to recover the core tube from the core barrel. If this area is in an area that was mined in the past, that's my best guess on what happened. Ordinarily after samples are taken and the drill hole is shut down, a plug would be rammed down the hole and it would be cemented in to prevent surface water from contaminating the ground water in the area.
Its weird to think about all the hidden places in the world like this that have probably never seen light. Like, all life could disappear tomorrow and these places would stay for probably millions of years in the exact same state as shown in the video.
Just the fact it goes this deep and there seems to be a tunnel at the bottom with a metal pipe gets me the chills just to think about where the entrance is and how the heck they got a fricking pipe to go that deep into a cave . . . A cave.
@@black_mamban4754From what it seems. The "pipe" is probably actually a drill tip. Meaning this hole was meant to be a well, but they drilled into a natural cave and accidentaly broke the drill pulling back from the hole. Wether they still used the drill or not I can't tell, but the cave seems to have flowing water so it might have been an aquifer at some point. I doubt it tho. Most likely they were hoping it was an aquifer and when they realize the water flows and the hole is mostly air they abandoned it. Hence the well being abandoned.
First of all it'd be pitch black so not nearly as horrifying. Secondly animals small enough to fall through it, like insects and small rodents would possibly survive the fall. But they'd die down there without any food anyways. So :/

Looks like an old gas vent pipe that has been cut off, there was one at my old country bus stop that looked like an arrow pointing up to keep the rain out. If there was a leak in the natural gas line, it could bent so it wouldn't build up and cause a rather inconvenient explosion.
I believe this is the result of a process called "core sampling" making that hole a "core hole" and that metal at the bottom may be the drill bit which they didn't expect to hit a cave with and once it dropped down it couldn't fit perfectly into the hole it made and so had to be cut and dropped. It could also be something some else dropped down the hole. Geologists collect all the rock removed and study it.
The part at the bottom looked like a submersible water pump with the electrical line still attached. Likely the well went dry a long time ago and someone pulled the well cap and water pipe out to find the pump had detached and didnt bother to put the pipe in well head back into the casing. Intresting video though.

This could be completely wrong but my guess is it is an air pipe. Many caves that don’t have an opening that allows airflow can suffocate explorers. This might be so it can be visited safely.
@@xxWildflowxx You are so quick to say "wrong" but that's perfectly logical. Most mines in these areas are wet and or totally flooded without pumps. Look at the pipe and what looks like some kind of wire or cable at the bottom. Could have been carried in thru a mine.

Maybe a second rope around the other end of the Gopro? So if you pull it, it would lift the lens part up? I don't know how to explain it better, or if it would work.
Pretty sure that pipe is part of the drill they used to dig down there. Probably didn't expect a cave and that caused the drill to fall apart once it broke into that area.
@@sacripudding4586 If it was a drill, a void like that isn't enough to make them fall apart under most circumstances. This could be completely wrong but my guess is it is an air pipe. Many caves that don’t have an opening that allows airflow can suffocate explorers. This might be so it can be visited safely.
Wrong. Its a pipe for pulling up groundwater. Seeing as theres barely any water left in that area shows why that pipe has been abandoned
@@xxWildflowxx You are so quick to say "wrong" but that's perfectly logical. Most mines in these areas are wet and or totally flooded without pumps. Look at the pipe and what looks like some kind of wire or cable at the bottom. Could have been carried in thru a mine.

Pretty sure that pipe is part of the drill they used to dig down there. Probably didn't expect a cave and that caused the drill to fall apart once it broke into that area.
