What scares me even more than the 280 foot drop is that at the bottom of the waterfall was not a pool of water, meaning the cave goes even deeper.
Boggles the mind to think what lies beneath our feet and that the Earth is not as solid as we believe it to be.
Thanks for bringing this coward along on your explorations.

This is one of my favorite caves. The pit is incredible. You’re just walking along in stream passage and suddenly the stream disappears into the floor. And the pit, the bridge, the room is so big. Such a special place. The first time I visited, when we exited the cave Marion O. Smith was sitting at the entrance, waiting to meet us. It was my first time encountering Marion, and he greeted us and proceeded to tell us the history of the cave. Thanks for sharing this video.

I'm surprised nobody collapsed that sketch roof yet. Better than to have it hanging like that. If that falls over you, that's game over, your ribs would crack and crush your lungs. Probably 500kg or more in one spot, depending on how it fractures. Back in the early days, some would carry a big oak stump with them that would go with them as they went. If the roof collapsed, there was at least a fraction of a chance to be alive.
