All 3 ropes cut and dropped down to them, leaving them to just wait as their flashlights dim out , one after the next . Leaving them to fall into a fitful and chilly sleep and wake up hours later in the inky darkness .

This is what RUclips is about, real people, slightly unhinged doing entertaining things that most of us stay clear or, a fascinating look into the world beneath our feet, seeing rock formations, looking at fragile eco systems, observing and exploring the natural world.
I don't need a commentary, this is real as it happens, no silly background music, just voices calling out, bits of chatter, sound of footsteps and rushing water.
And very good footage, considering you are often crouched down or squeezing into tight spots, but you capturing it all very well.
Almost seems like I'm right there.
Not watching it sat in a leather recliner on a 10 foot screen in my cinema room

That cave was beautiful in it's way. The canyon formation just before the pit was amazing - loved it. The cave has a lot to offer - the virgin passages just might lead to another amazing area. The popcorn etc, was amazing - I would be slowed down in that cave by the formations, I stop and study things like that when I find them. Maybe one of those tight leads will end at the bottom of a pit and up the side of the pit will be a dry cave that leads to who knows what. That is the promise of virgin passages - they lead to the unknown.

Great intro for me to your videos. 60 years ago, when I was in second grade, I found a book about spelunking and cave exploration. I was instantly mesmerized by the idea of discovering extensive underground caverns, no doubt in part from reading Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn, but the illustrations and pictures of the rock features you can ONLY see first hand from caving also grabbed me. I knew I was going to become a spelunker. Then when I turned 16 I was 6' 2" and 190 lbs. So... that dream kinda died sadly. My Dad, who was a rock hound and my Scoutmaster made it up to me that summer when we went on vacation and took in Carlsbad Cavern. It helped, honestly. I'm happy for you guys that you get to live these adventures. Perhaps be on the lookout for paleontologists especially in Southern Africa to need people with your unique set of skills.

One thing I've learned from watching videos like these is typically caves start from a hole in the ground which means you can be walking through the woods and just fall through the ground at any point due to a hidden hole, that has always been a big fear of mine, fall through and no one will ever find you until well after you're dead and gone.

What I have also learned, is that if you see a kind of cavity at the bottom of the forest, don’t go down there to see if it ends in a hole !!!!
I have also watched explorers from Great Britain examine holes, and their holes there, sometimes were ventilation shafts for underground railroad tracks…
I am not sure what I prefer to fall into, by accident. If I am going to die anyway, hopefully something very deep.

Fantastic geology in view because of a "water course". Your group are so bold to attempt some of those narrow "crawals". Thank you for recording your trip.

Around the 18 minute mark I'm pretty sure I saw a spider... can someone explain to me how that's even possible? Like how does a spider or any creature that can't fly even get that deep into the earth? What does it even eat? I'm baffled by the idea that anything besides a bat could live in a place like this.

And how do they know which way to go? Going in & coming out? Do they leave a trail, Hansel & Gretel style? Hope they have a bag full of spare batteries for their torches. Oh my... this is almost too much but I can't stop watching! Still not over having watched "The Descent"... Journey to the centre of the earth anyone? Amazing...

You guys are animals. Going through those tight squeezes like that takes a lot of courage when you have no idea if you’re going to have a place to even turn around. These couch warriors to watch these videos have no idea mentally what it takes to do this.

18:33 huge cave cricket, so that section is very near to top.
One thing i don't get is why everyone's leaving ropes when they could leave paracord. You install your bolts, and add a paracord loop. Anyone who wishes to climb, hooks their line to the paracord, uses the loop to climb the rope through the carabiners up top and climbs. Letting rope to rot and wear is ... kinda of a bad practice. It entices people and you never know when it could snap. Best to just signal and give the choice. Dunno. That's how i do it, and that's how other people i know do it. I don't mind leaving a couple of carabiners behind.

    • @ActionAdventureTwins
      @ActionAdventureTwins  11 месяцев назад

We just prefer not to have to carry rope into the cave it gets heavy so we would rather leave a rope behind than carry it back out and then back in next time. But that is a good plan for if we decide we don't want to leave a rope in. Put a pull string in the bolt up top so we can pull a rope up next time

Man, me and my mom love your guys content. Everyday we’re watching. I was going to say though, around the 24:00 min mark, if you pay close attention you guys literally passed up what it looks like to be Rubies and Sapphire stones. They stand out and you won’t miss them.
