  • First off, glad to be back, hopefully I will be able to become more consistent with uploads. Lots has changed and I feel my style of video creation may have changed too without even realizing it. Hope this helps anyone who is working on this or similar project and I will catch you next time!

    Isnt there a notch on the crank sprocket and oil pump that needs to line up and that means its at TDC?

    The word you were looking for is non interference. The 3.0 is a non interference engine and will not get damaged from being out of time.

    Just did this on my 1990 today. And yes, the 3VZE is a non-interference motor, so you won't damage the top end if you're off a tooth or two.
    P.S. is that a 458 Italia behind you?

    The driver's side No. 6 cylinder is pretty much the only place the head gasket fails on these. The passenger side never fails nor do No. 2 or 4 cylinders. That pesky crossover . . . .
