From 1980, a single taken from the album Love Is All Around. Better known as the Mary Tyler Moore show theme, this version is a little more country style and has an extra verse not sung in the TV show. Видеоклипы
As far as I'm concerned, there are at least two wonderful things to say about Mary Tyler Moore: She turned the world on with her smile, and she made it after all.
After this show was a hit ,Mary was a guest on a late night talk show ...Carson's show but Steve Martin was hosting that night. As soon as Mary was introduced, and sits down,Steve says to her that there was something that he had been curious about for quite awhile. She asked what that was. Steve Martin says " Can you REALLY take a nothing day and suddenly make it all seem worthwhile?"
My dad used to play this on the piano when I was a kid to put me to sleep. He then made a video of all my baby pics when I graduated HS and put this song behind it. Makes me cry to this day! :)
The Best Song ever....!
Mary Tyler Moore ...hands down one of the most beautiful woman EVER on TV!!!
Rest in peace Mary Tyler Moore. You will always be treasured as an comedic, groundbreaking actress.
And Sonny's the master for putting it all into 2 words.
Loved you Mary!
i think Mary Tyler Moore really did make it after all. What a beautiful lady.
I watched this with my mom growing up.
I'd love it if today's music could be this inspiring!!!!
Cool rendition of one of the best sitcom theme songs ever.
She turned the world on with her smile - and yes, she made it after all!
Rest Well, Mary Tyler Moore, for you have earned it, many times over.
George M great post thanks
Loved the show.
it used to be on my car radio until 1990 here in Atlantic Canada.great song.Music changed after that.
Who can turn the world on with her smile?
Who can take a nothing day
And suddenly make it all seem worthwhile?
Well it's you, girl, and you should know it
With each glance and every little movement you show it
Love is all around no need to fake it
You can have the town, why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all
Love is all around no need to fake it
You can have the town, why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all
How will you make it on your own?
This world is awfully big, and girl, this time you're all alone
But it's time you started living
It's time you let someone else do some giving
Love is all around no need to fake it
You can have the town, why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all
You're the one most likely to succeed
Just be sure to keep your head, 'cause girl, you know that's all you need
Everyone around adores you
Don't give up, the world is waiting for you
Love is all around no need to waste it
You can have the town, why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all
Love is all around no need to waste it
You can have the town, why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all
Love is all around no need to waste it
You can have the town, why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all
You're gonna make it after al
I love this song, even with the country flavor! I also loved the Mary Tyler Moore Show, and Mary was so talented and beautiful! I was born in 1976, and I got to know the show by watching re-runs.
I wish to dedicate this song to my dear friend, Jane, I hope she can find some inspiration from this song. Jane's life is very much like the Mary Tyler Moore Show. Jane is very much like Mary Tyler Moore--compassionate, funny, unpredictable, and everyone likes her--especially the men. Sonny Curtis has done a masterpiece on this song. 5Stars to this rendition.
Great song! I've been humming it for days. RIP, Mary Tyler Moore.
Finally! The original "full" version...Loved it!!!
This brings back wonderful memories. The words and music to this song are so pure and uplifting....
This version sung by Sonny Curtis is my favorite rendtion. Many has copied and they too have done a great job--Joan Jett, Sammy Davis, etc... I really like the country
overtones and the soft singing style of Sonny Curtis.. Its a winner.
I'm only 22 and have been a fan of Mary Tyler Moore since I was little this song is classic too
Thanks for uploading this original full version. It's great when someone takes the time to put out the original for those of us that never heard it or even knew it existed.
I sang this song at my brother's wedding reception...It's one of my favorite TV theme songs.
On this day in 1970 {September 19th} the 30-minute TV sitcom, “Mary Tyler Moore", premiered on the CBS-TV network...
The show ran for seven seasons with 168 original episodes...
It won a total of twenty-nine Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards...
The show's theme song, "Love Is All Around", was composed and sung by Sonny Curtis*; it peaked at #29 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart...
* The Crickets' lead vocalist/lead guitarist after the death of Buddy Holly...

Minnesota loves u so much ! always n forever RIP 💕💕💕💕😥
A masterful rendering. Brings back such memories of the show.
Love both Sonny and Mary.
GREAT SONG! Mary Richards RIP.
I can remember watching The Mary Tyler Moore Show as a kid and Mary was wonderful on the series.
The comments I see about this video all seem to miss an important point: Sonny Curtis wrote this song!
Great song. I didn't know about the second verse untill I found Sonny's album and played it.
I enjoyed seeing the lady in the background wearing the wrap in the opening segment staring at Mary.
Awwww... love this. The country version is great..Sonny Curtis was a Cricket.(Buddy Holly) He also wrote "I Fought the Law" (and the law won).
He joined The Crickets after Buddy's death in 1959.
Buddy and Sonny were friends
Jb Sonny also wrote MY favorite Everly Brothers song...Walk Right Back
@@daboys1215 Sonny Curtis (born May 9, 1937) is an American singer and songwriter. Known for his collaborations with Buddy Holly, he was a member of the Crickets, and continued with the band after Holly's death. Curtis's best known compositions include "Walk Right Back", a major hit in 1961 for the Everly Brothers; and "I Fought the Law", notably covered by the Bobby Fuller Four.
Loved singing along with the theme song when the show was on the air.
I'd only learned of this country version in 2015. I included it in a
playlist of Arizona themed songs I played when I moved from a small
college town in Oregon to Phoenix, Arizona. Even though the song wasn't
specifically Phoenix related, I still liked the positive message because
it mirrored the experience of Mary Richards when she moved from her
small town to Minneapolis. Nowadays, when I'm feeling blue and need to
get "pumped up" and have more self-confidence, I play this song and
realize that yes, "you're gonna make it after all..." RIP Mary Tyler Moore.
Very nice
i think this is the best 80's song ever
No veia mucho esta serie en los 80, porque la daban muy tarde....pero siempre me quede con esta hermosa melodia
This could've been a perfect "reunion movie" variation, where Mary considers moving to the countryside, but finds life to be incredibly dull when she decides to work at the local TV newsroom and misses her old Minneapolis newsroom.
The Best Of Times Miss Them! Great Song, One Of My Favorite Shows!!
This Version is from the third Season and the Final Version of the Them Song that would last until the End of the Series Run the Lyrics Changed 3 times during it's Run.
Nice to know.
peace and serenity ..to all fans of MARY TYLER MOORE ...MERRY CHRISTMAS :)
a new star is born....see the sky
This song bring me good memories, I was a little boy and my aunt saw every episode... really good time... my aunt name is Marina.
I still can't believe she passed away. Seems like yesterday her show was on television.
Sonny Curtis wrote this song. He was one of the original Crickets, Buddy Holly's band
MTM, Rest In Peace.
What a great country pedal steel version of a great tv show song. I love it.
RIP MTM!
Let's do another one!!!! I'm ready to see it!
Sonny Curtis' original 1970 Ovation Records version of Love Is All Around is SO much better! This "Country" arrangement left a lot to be desired.
Donyel you ar welcome!!! :) I am glad meet fans of Mary Tyler Moore .. I love Mary for her commitment and love for animals :)

My mom use to watch that show.
Buon weekend Floriana
I loved Lou Grant more than anyone else on the Mary Tyler Moore show.
They use the extra verse in the Reunion movie sung by another group! Didn't know the song was originally written with it! In the movie version the song said your the ONE most likely to succeed
Thanks for uploading this original full version. It's great when someone takes the time to put out the original for those of us that never heard it or even knew it existed. Now I want to learn it. I'd like to find a karaoke version.
This is the "countrified" version that was released in 1980. For the version from 1970 that more closely matches the TV theme, see Sonny Curtis - Love Is All Around (1970 Ovation 45)
I remember hearing this version on country radio back then.
I like this version as well.
i remember that first verse from one of the season's of the show.
Love the steel guitar, the tempo and the overall arrangement. Very nice.
Good 'Ol Mary...give me a story!!!!
Grazie Morgan di avermi portato al cinema a vedere i segreti di ecc. ecc. che non lo so scrivere
Who would've thought that Betty White would keep going while all the rest of them would be retired or dead.
I wonder, will Betty White ever grow up?
and now Georgia Engell and Valerie harper have died.
I just checked and Ed Asner is still going strong at almost 90! When I was a kid, Saturday night tv was All in the Family, the Jeffersons, Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart and Carol Burnett, “those were the days”
STILL!!!
And now Betty, Ed, and Gavin are the only members of the leading cast left.
Ciao Caterina e grazie di avermi riaccompagnato a casa
Lou Grant was my favorite character on the show.

Today is LOVE
@robbrichter2010 I love country music, and to me this makes the theme song 10x better. The original was sooo 1970s and dated.
