As the owner of a 140bhp & a 55bhp bike, Theres a a lot to be said for riding a ‘slow’ bike fast as opposed to a ‘fast’ bike slow. If motorcyclists were honest about their requirements more would end up with bikes like this.
55hp is probably not bad especially if it's at 6500rpm and not 12000rpm and some torque is really nice
We sometimes forget get that little motto mate. I would rather have a small cc bike on track and get the full use out of it, over having a litre bike and not being able to use its full potential.
@DSR1YT definitely on track everything changes. On the road people are not riding 1000cc bikes for speed they never have been,
I bought a 2018 cb500x the 17 inch front wheel model. At almost 6’2” I found it a bit cramped but loads of fun. I traded up to the Africa twin as I thought I needed the power and the bigger size for my big self. I kept it for 2 years and didn’t really use it as much as it was a big lump of a thing . I sold it and bought a 2019 cb500x this bike seems a lot more roomy than the 2018 version . I use it all the time it’s so easy to get out and jump on and I consistently get 300 miles to a tank. I have changed the front sprocket to a 16 tooth that really make a massive difference to the bike.
This bike at my age and physical abilities is right up my street, infact I've got a demo booked for tomorrow.
Good luck with the test ride mate. Let us know what you think after it. 🤙
You are right. The Toyota Corolla of bikes
Haha, you aren’t wrong there :)
Loved my old cb500 to the point of wishing I hadn't sold it 😢 great fun and it went for miles on a tank , great video as always 👍
I think we are all guilty of thinking bigger is always better, id love to have the ZX4RR right now.
@@DSR1YT you sure about that mate?right now you'd like to be in that position?
It's never too late to go back to 500, there're plenty of options now.
Front God Lights are what i need on my next bike !! 😉
Bike looks good
Extra lights are always helpful at being seen by other cavers. Also they make the bike look better :)
Thanks for the review mate!
Aside of the wind protection (which can be easily managed with an aftermarket windscreen, how do you find the general comfort and abitability of the bike? I'm 6'1 like you ...
This small adventure bike group is getting interesting especially in these days with potholes and speed cameras
I don’t disagree mate, i think more and more about getting a 2 smaller bikes like the MT09 and this or CFmoto 450, over having one big bike trying to do all things.
This is NOT adventure but rather city bike. Do not take marketing literally.
You'd think that in the 21st century, manufacturers could design a mirror that doesn't flop around and rely on tightening a nut... I bet the engine will last forever, though! 👍🏻
I’d rather have a faulty mirror with a solid engine rather than a crappy engine and a solid mirror :)
i dont know matt.i think ive said before but i just dont know who buys these bikes?are people passing their tests and plumping for these bikes?
good honest review as usual, you do give these bikes a good go thats for sure!
Ye I passed my test and bought this bike lol. Not sure what your point is
@@Rhodi88 why did you buy it?
@@mart7798 Looks (mines in black), Honda reputation, great engine, based on the cb500x which had great recognition with a few needed updates, perfect for relatively lightweight long distance touring across UK and Europe, does about 80mpg - literally everything I wanted in a bike. I was going to get the cb500x in Nov but the NX came out in Jan so went for that instead. Rode with guys on GS's the other day, they only had good things to say about it and from the riding you'd never tell there were 700cc difference in engine power. Really is a brilliant bike.
@@Rhodi88 fair enough!not for me,but if you love what you ride thats the main thing!👍
@@mart7798 Ye agreed. Have a good one👊
How did you get on legroom wise with the fairly rear set pegs . I’m 6-2 may be cramped especially on a longer ride .
I didn’t find any issues with the rear pegs mate.
This is city bike. Too small, too uncomfortable for long rides.
Rubbish, I have a 2022 500x. Covered 24,000 miles since owning. Toured all over the UK. I'm 5" 10 and over 100kg. It's a great bike. Roomy and handles superb.
@@livesgasSounds good sir. Would you also help us know how it performs on gravel and against Himalayan 411(Royal Enfield)
Thank you in advance :)
@@vasudevrameshbabu3427performs well on gravel. Ive upgraded the rear shock and installed Rally Raid inserts.
You've ridden one have you, thought not.
I have to disagree I can manage 3 hour on my cb500x with no issues.
