@@chadengemann8237 Cleetus "Have a seat on these sweet bleachers while I fire up more than a quarter million dollars worth of LED lights so that you can see how nice my lawn is!"
The big new word is "concerts" - they now have a nice venue with a huge flat skid pad they can put the stage on, a bunch of bleachers, parking, food, etc. Being multipurpose will make the economics so much better.
Yeah they was but the older gentlemen who owned the track before Cleetus they didn’t have the money to upgrade things. My understanding they struggled to keep things a float the final years they had Races there. Glad to see the place fall into the hands of someone who loves Motorsports and has the new wave way of promoting money’s to fix the place back to its better than Formal Glory. We have small tracks all over the country that made nascar what it is today that’s sitting depleted just begging for someone to do this same thing to Them to give locals a place to go. For example iconic tracks like: short Track.... North Wilkesboro NC. Short Track Rockingham NC (The Rock). I’ll spare you the reading but there’s lots more that I could list that used to get lots of racing action. But now they’re sitting idol waiting for this same thing to be done to them. I’d love to see them all restored eventually.
Thank you for being honest about the finances. A lot of youtubers show what they have done but for whatever reason are afraid to discuss how much it actually cost.
We all really appreciate how appreciative you are of your viewers, and honest and open towards them. The end of this video proves those points again. What you missed to add to the cost talk was the savings in electricity per event and per year. That’s also a return on your investment.
Not drawing that HUGE draw is something that doesn't get talked about enough with LEDs, easier on your wiring, electrical boxes, etc. As a dad, they're also awesome with an 18 m/o, cool to the touch for home ones.
Only missing the full resurface of the oval track and pain the walls. Maybe spice it up some RGB "neon" string lighting around the inner and outer wall of the track. It's 2021 time to be unique cleeter.
Echoing so many other comments here but what is most special to me is that you had the vision and and fortitude to resurrect an abandoned racetrack so that it can once again be used for the love of American motorsports. I am assuming the angle would be wrong so your eyes would be stained and you cast shadows. I think I recall him saying that he had special lights made for the pit and I’m betting they are more of a flood light type bulb or reflector instead of a spot pattern like he has on the edges
@@WAVE_ZERO Yeah you have a point on the wrong angle. Yet some lights can be used to light up the areas on the outside around the track. I do not know for sure if they even though about installing any other light poles. Though with the amount of money they did spend to erect the concrete poles I may have invested in just installing the light poles in a few other areas even if there is no electric ran to those locations. Upgrades later would be far cheaper.
@@WAVE_ZERO Adding the lights (of some type) to those existing back stretch poles would just keep the pit area from being so dark when they aren't holding an event. Like when they are loading up trailers or moving vehicles & equipment around. They would still have to have some portable lights in the pits during an event, just less of them. I'm sure when money allows there will be other permanent lighting added to the pits.
Turned out great. When you showed what shape the poles, electrical, and fixtures were in, it proved just how badly this liability needed to be taken care of.
The FF is now most likely the best lit 3/8 mile oval track in the country. Now it's time to start approaching the larger traveling stock car racing organizations like ARCA to hold annual events at this track. Hell, they've ran BUSCH races there in the past, no reason why those races wouldn't want to come back now. Everyone involved in this project should be proud. It turned out beautiful. Nice job, guys!
Can't wait to see the FF in person. Cleetus and Cars Houston was an incredible show and the most fun I've had at a car event in many years. This whole thing is only going to get even better. Remember fun? It's back.
Beautiful. Not to mention the power savings. And the safety increase. When a place isn't well lit, it too easy to trip over garbage and whatnot. Plus it helps with cleanup.
I blown away by how your channel has grown and developed since I started following you a couple of years ago, deeply proud to be a part of this. I’m here for the journey, count me in Cleetus
Once dilapidated and run down. Now reborn and coming on strong in its new life. Track rescue is pretty much complete. Well done Cleetus and all the Freedom Factory guys.
yep he did not say a cost but if one of the old poles had come down and killed someone well that would probably have been the end of the Freedom Factory as that could easily egt into millions
How cool would it be if you had all the LED wedge lights connected to actuators and could swivel(up/down) them sequentially and/or all together to create a spot-light effect in the sky during events. Imagine if they were all individually wired, you could even do special lighting patterns and directions on the track and in the sky like Christmas LED lights!

@@StanleyKubick1 yeah it's really cool that he is still retaining the for the people approach even when he has become a literal multimillionaire within a couple short years. Guy is awesome 👌

We all have that 1 friend who should never be with you at serious moments.
There’s only one thing brighter than the lights at the Freedom Factory and that is the McFarland Enterprises future!
I'm super glad you mentioned the possibility for concerts... take every advantage you have with your venue.
One of the best things to ever happen on RUclips was Garrett buying this track! Great job Cleeter!
You Should invite all the old timers who’ve raced that track when it was in its prime.
That's the best comment I've read.
Still need to get Robbie knievel out too. He jumped there once in the early 90s and cleeter found the video over on his other channel
In my opinion, the track in getting into its prime now. If you really think about it, that property has underwent an amazing transformation!

The big new word is "concerts" - they now have a nice venue with a huge flat skid pad they can put the stage on, a bunch of bleachers, parking, food, etc.
Being multipurpose will make the economics so much better.
Thats exactly what I was thinking.
It'd be cool to be on the burnout pad for a concert
this comment should be up higher
Agreed. With all the improvements, lease the property out for events when out of town.
I think you narrowly avoided having someone get clobbered by one of those old light poles, I can't believe how degraded those were.
Short Track Rockingham NC
(The Rock).
Bro that drone shot. That was MONEY.
And whether that scoreboard works-and if not, what to replace it with…!!
I love how authentic you are with all that you do and I love being able to do my small part. I suspect I'm far from alone in that sentiment...
The lights are killer the factory is coming together nicely
Echoing so many other comments here but what is most special to me is that you had the vision and and fortitude to resurrect an abandoned racetrack so that it can once again be used for the love of American motorsports. Pit area getting lights next?
Shouldn't have to add any poles. Just more lights on the new back stretch poles aimed for the pit area.
Looks great!
Nice job, guys!

the money saved on electric, and possibility of injury or insurance pay outs... its worth it. also the investment into the property alone.
IT is win win win.

Not sure how I missed this video. As an Electrician this was very satisfying to watch. Excellent job!
Just another 250k investment.
@@b2dmastersniper I'd do it for 249K
