- Some have asked if I could make a video of my shampoo bar using the cold process. Here it is and I added shea butter and lavender oil. This is an easy recipe and is great for dry hair. It has amazing lather too. Please feel free to leave comments. I would love to connect with you.
Shea Butter Shampoo Bar (Cold Process)
12% Superfat
Coconut Oil 76 degree 6.40 oz.
Shea Butter 2.40 oz.
Olive Oil 7.20 oz.
Distilled Water 6.08 oz.
Lye 2.16 oz.
1 tsp of sodium lactate
1 tsp Rose Clay
.50 oz. Lavender Essential Oil
Weigh distilled water
Weigh lye
Add lye to the water (always add lye to liquid)
Add your teaspoon of sodium lactate to your lye water
Weigh your oils and put them in your larger container
Take 1 tbsp of oil from your oil mixture and add it to the teaspoon of rose clay (set aside for later)
Take the temp of oil and lye water
Burp oil to remove air bubbles by tapping your blender in oil
Slowly add lye water by allowing it run down the shaft of your stick blender
Now blend your oils with lye water to a light trace
Add your rose clay
Add your Lavender Oil (optional)
Blend for a couple of seconds to make sure everything is evenly combined
Pour into molds
Allow soap to sit in molds for at least 24 to 48 hours.
After 24 to 48 hours gently remove soap from molds and lightly spray them with 91 or higher percentage of rubbing alcohol.
Put soaps away in a cool dry place and allow them to cure for 6 to 8 weeks.

Is it ok to use in color treated hair?

Hello from New Zealand. Thank you so much for sharing🥰
Hi Sweetpea.Station. NZ Thanks so much for watching my video new friend. :)
Hello, enjoy NZ. I sure miss it there. 💖Kia Kaha
I don't understand! How is this shampoo any different from regular CP soap?
@axolotllifeaquatics4492 A shampoo bar differs from regular cold process soap primarily in its pH level, as shampoo bars are formulated to be more acidic to match the natural pH of hair, while cold process soap is typically more alkaline and designed for cleansing the skin; additionally, shampoo bars often include specific ingredients that nourish and condition hair, whereas cold process soap focuses on cleansing the body with a broader range of potential ingredients depending on the recipe. Hope this helps!
Wow 🤩 bar shampoo.. God bless 💕
Thanks dear friend for watching. Blessings! :)
Can’t Wait to make this…from Beverly, MA, U. S. A. 🎉
I hope you love it as much as I do! 💖
Thanks for sharing
If l may ask
Can we put KoH instead of
NaoH
Thanks
Thank you Reem Hijazi for watching. If you use KOH instead of the more common NaOH you will end up with soap but it won't be a solid bar. Therefore, I don't recommend it. It will be more like a soft, putty consistency. Hope this helps!
Is it essential to add the sodium lactate?
Hi @NYsavvy! That’s a great question. You don’t absolutely have to use it, but it does help cold process process soap to harden quicker. I do recommend it. Thanks for watching. ❤️
Greetings from PA! Thank you for sharing!! Would you mind sharing the oil breakdown in precentage? Looking forward to try this recipe!
Thank you so much for watching! The percentage is 40% coconut oil, 15% shea butter, 45% olive oil. Sure hope this helps. Would love to hear how you like your shampoo bars. :)
Thank you so much! Will definitely let you know! Have a wonderful day!
unbreakable207 you too! ❤️

Is this soap bad for dyed hair?
That's a great question. I use henna on my hair and I use this to wash my hair and love it. I've never used regular hair color so I can't say for sure. Thanks for watching!
Hello! I made the shampoo bars and have been using them. I really like how they turned out. I was wondering what you think about adding raw honey to the recipe? I got some from a relative that has bees. :)
Oooh raw honey sounds amazing! I think you should give it a try. You can use soapcalc.net to figure out how much to use. Would love to hear how it turns out! :)
Hi Mam, Your video helped me preparing my own shampoo bar..Thank you so much.. Shall I use it in hard water... Could you please clarify me...
sangeetha a So thankful my video was a great help for you. I’m not quite sure I understand your question about using it in hard water. Please help me understand what you are asking.😊
@@TheGingerOptimist Hi Mam,Hard water is one we can't drink. If we use it for hair washing the chemical reaction of soap and calcium and magnesium salts present in hard water results in scum formation. So soap precipitates. But this home made shampoo bar only has controlled my hair fall problem💖👍.So is there any other remedy to overcome this situation.Thank u for your reply...
These look amazing! I bet they smell wonderful. 😀
Awww, thanks so much. I love these shampoo bars even more than my first shampoo bar recipe! :)
