X5 is more comfortable and that can be super important for some people. If it's your only car your #1 priority is to decide if you value most comfort or "real driving". That's the most important part because with the 5 you'll miss some comfort and with x5 you'll miss some sporty driving! (Btw a 5 series is still too heavy to be proper fun, but it's a masterpiece. I have a 530d xdrive g30 and a 320d xdrive f31, the 5 blows the 3 out of the water for comfort but still for day to day activities and long trips my RR Evoque was more comfortable).
