Anyone whining about this car being "boring" is just embarrassing themselves. We don't all drive at 7000rpm, like overgrown children, everywhere we go. This car perfectly designed for it's purpose; it's a fast, spaceous, luxurious, relaxing and economical cruiser. What better car to get your family and luggage across Europe in perfect comfort?

sorry got to laugh, because none of these two cars are economical. If you just look at reliability stand alone, those two cars are bad, as FACT I can deliver proove and then look at the depreciation. So much money down the drain for nothing. Buy a mk3 Mondeo 2.2Tdci. Powerful, cheap, economical, reliable (prooven facts) and plenty of money left IF something goes wrong
mondeo lol dont make me laugh..cheap plastic fantastic shit and don't get me even start about how "comfortable" the mondeo is..just like a chair made out of wood in the kitchen and it's stiff suspension. I can't even imagine goin somewhere far in a mondeo, the longest I ever went was 120km in one direction and my god I was all sore and stiff after that ride.
you can be all you want in the Internet you CEO, but when you take a look at the bill a 5 series gives you I rather take the Mondeo and have a nice holiday with my family in the summer, because after 6 months you get into that car like in any other car but pay a shitload of money. Hearing this from you, I can tell you, you've never been in a Mondeo and sorry but for me it's not the interior that counts. Everybody can make a nice interior from the factory if you take a lot of money. Everybody can do it expensive. For me it's important, that the car is affordable and reliable and the mondeo is both. Take the reliabilityindex.com or take just look at the used car market and look how many you finde with 400.000km or even more. Saw once a Mondeo with over 800.000 former taxi, still first engine and gearbox.
On that basis, the 2.2 TDCi is the best compromise look how it pulls ruclips.net/video/nGUHlGtcY10/видео.html that's more than enough for everyday driving.
Edit: Before you respond compare the mondeo to the 520D to make it more realistic. Now look at the Video of AutoTopNL. 520D 180-200 by tachometer 20 seconds ruclips.net/video/GB-AeLYN904/видео.html Mondeo 2.2 less than 10 and there's a manual shift in that less than 10 seconds time span.
not everyone can afford 5 series, A6, E class but those who can, knows what comes with a car like that, higher bills, higher insurance fees etc..but like I told you ford is cheap plastic fantastic nothing more, I'd rather take passat or superb over mondeo everyday. I even drove 2 mondeos till now both 2.0tdci one was trend line the other was ghia and was dissapointed by both..all germans are known for stiff suspension except S class 7 series and A8, but ford is something completely different, it's the most uncomfortable car I've ever drove, you can literaly feel every little hole on the road. Sorry but I'd rather buy BMW 3, Audi a4, Superb, Citroen C5 or Peugeot 508 than mondeo.

With g30 you don't feel any speed at all... You drive 200 on autobahn... Feels like 120 in yours skoda...

I've got those exakt rims on my 520d. They are a pain to clean, but look great together with the shadow line package.
Would have been lovely to see the 8th gear, how does it cruise around 160-180, but the gearselector was in Sports mode in the hole take, right?

Cruising the autobahn at 220 kph ist a bit utopic. There are a lot speed restrictions on german autobahns as well as often a lot of traffic. So it will be in daily use more or the less just episodic speed blasts into 200+ kph speedzone. The car is nevertheless amazing...

Its the ultimate family car to be crossing countrys with the boot full and the kids in the back...... to put the final touch on the car TV's in the back to keep the kids happy

Now i am liking this touring. I found the wide angle is annoying and dizzying for exterior walk around and it also distort the picture with wide angle you also dont get the real perspective and feels of the real dimension just see how the cars feels smaller that it actually is. Could you try to use maybe dslr with 35mm lens maybe ?

And then after 1000 kilometers of driving with only one tank capacity, the refilling at a gas station is done after just two minutes, and not after one hour of stupid fucking charging time at a supercharger, and then again with a ridiculously low range about only 200 kilometers, when you try driving a Tesla like this BMW with constantly over 200 km/h. The Diesel-models from BMW, Mercedes, Audi or Porsche are all much more efficient and luxurious quality cars with great practicality for a daily driving than a fucking Tesla, here in Germany! And the German high performance Diesel cars are Euro6-clean without any cheating shit! This is the reason why EV technology for highpowered cars still sucks on a great scale. The only thing which is amazing with a high performance EV from Tesla, is their classical one-trick-pony shit, which only can do an electric vehicle at a launch start and then upto 150 km/h. Beyond that speed an EV is just a piece of shit and makes no fucking sense any longer on a daily basis! It would loose on all fronts against the German high performance luxury Diesel cars! Cheers!

Can you wait 3 more months? BMW keeps telling me it's on the way. And because it is lighter, while HP and Torque are up at least 10%, MPG is also up 10%. Looking for 42MPG in a family size car (not a Prius) that flies.

Probably is to a level. But, he's taking off his hands because the car is so stable and you can easily do it

Does it have a Sport Diff ?
The M badge on a diesel powered car disturb me... I mean I have nothing against diesel, it's cheaper and practical but a diesel can't be call a sport car. You can say that a diesel is punchy but the diesel engines are too heavy and don't rev up high enough to be called a sport car. This car is really good for cruising and it look it's really comfy but it's not made to go on the nurburgring :)

matth fra Actually modern diesel engines, like this one, are very close (and some times even superior) to similar gasoline ones. You just have to know how to properly use them. And by the way, the torque more than makes up for the low rpm...

Well for me it's a punchy car not a sport car, the diesel engine is weightening down the car. The risk is that the car slump in bends which is a really problem for a "sport car" and this diesel engine can't rev up as high as a sport car. However it can be called a powerfull car because of it's 350 hp :)
Well, you are right but I don't agree with the fact to put an M badge on cars that don't have a BMW Motorsport prepared motor. I mean the motor is the main piece of car and I don't think that it's a good idea to stick an M badge on a car that has only half of it's parts being "M" parts ^^

Net als de bestuurder overigens, die ziet er na een crash in sommige gevallen ook niet meer zo strak uit...... maar, mocht je dan nog kunnen praten, dan kun je wel tegen iedereen vertellen hoe stoer je met je vinger aan het stuur bezig was. Ow wacht, beetje lullig voor dat gezin dat nu in 4 kisten ligt omdat meneer dacht dat de auto t wel voor hem zou oplossen.....
