Should You Buy the Cheapest Jet Drive Outboard?

- Today we are testing out a Hangkai 4 stroke 4 HP jet drive outboard that we bought from walmart.com for about $200. To make a long story short, unless you have a very specific need for this motor, go for a larger option.

The jet drive definitely needs to be deeper into the water and my question is is there a more powerful engine and please tell us what the horsepower of this one is

Ty for sharing! You seem to be having better luck than most with the jet drive. I ordered the prop version last week and it'll be here tomorrow. Everybody says it's a bit quicker and less hassle. I guess we'll see! 😅 Thanks again!

And do they have a jet drive that could bolt to the 6hp or 12hp?

I didn't even know you could get an outboard jet drive motor. Does it come in larger size? About how much do you weigh and how much does the little skiff weigh? It seems to work just fine for a small lake or pond but it is slow as molasses... lol.
Don't know about Hangkai but all the major outboard brands offer jet drives on near all their outboard models. Though they usually are only seen/sold in specific areas that call for shallow water running
I wonder if you can simply attach a bigger engine ...

We usually run a 6.0 hp 2 stroke on this boat, but it can go up to a 10 hp. We do plan on making a video of our 12 hp and 18 hp on it so stay tuned!
