It also helps that Sirotkin is educated in race car engineering and perfectly understands the stresses that his team members are going through. The rapport is there.
Bezourx yes but raw talent isn't all you can have as an f1 driver, you need to help develop the car too, you can tell that the car is better because of his development. Like in Ferrari Alonso had to drive much harder to win races because the car was bad and he didn't develop it unlike Sebastian vettel, that's why ferrari have the best car now

Really hope that the next years lineup for McLaren will be Stoffel and Carlos. With Carlos as a rival, Soffel would have more space to grow. Even though Alonso is my favourite F1 driver of all time, it would be good for Stoffel to have a proper rival and not someone who has the experience and skill to outshine you in every aspect of racing.
He has a brilliant attitude and does his PR brilliantly. Performs well when given a good car. Hope he finds a new team in F1 or that McLaren treats him equal to his teammate for once.
@@MysteryOfMovies Honestly i wouldnt be too sad if he went to WEC for a full season. Would love to watch him truly compete. But i hope he stays with McLaren.

Props to Romain for talking so candidly about seeking help. That's nothing to be ashamed of and it would be good if all drivers, specially the young ones, would have this support.
Dunno if it's because I'm more into F1 this year than ever, but I'm really liking the young guns now. Max, Pierre, Charles, Sergey, Ocon, and maybe even Lance (let's see how he does next year). Dunno about Stoffel but I would say that he must be good simply on how close his quali times have been w.r.t. Fernando (though his Sunday race craft is not as good, that's for sure). It takes real courage to take it to the better driver like Max does.
I've been watching F1 regularly since 2008 and I've got to say this is the most interesting mid field battle I've seen in my years of watching F1. Even with the controversy of Force India and the change of drivers thats happening. Weirdly I'm more excited to see who comes out on top between the mid field teams rather who wins between Seb and Hamilton. Great stuff!
The drivers I will feel bad for the most if this silly season goes against them is Ocon and Stoffel. Ocon has been able to show what he can do and Stoffel hasn't been able to show what he can do because of McLaren not being able to give him a good car. Hopefully they both stay in F1.
@@MysteryOfMovies While I'm not a fan of pay drivers some teams need them to survive. Williams need the money that Sirotkin and Charisma Bypass bring. Force India needed the money Perez brought. They're a necessary evil. Also drivers being loaned out by teams will more than likely get a drive. It's the way it goes. As for Vandoorne, yeah he's been unlucky but he should probably have done better against a team mate that's phoning it in. And don't try and say it's because he's racing Alonso, if he genuinely had the talent he'd be closer. Remember a certain British driver when he was a rookie team mate of Alonso?
+Funky Monkey1886 Still doesn't make me incorrect. As for Vandoorne vs Alonso, do you watch Free Practices? Do you read the news and what happens in the garages? Vandoorne is still in a worse car than Alonso while McLaren promised they'd finally be treated equaly... It's hard to beat a double world champion when he gets the 2 new front wings, the newest upgrades and the best chassis. While Vandoorne had to revert to his test chassis because his incompetent engineers couldn't find the major issue that cost him half a second/lap in the 2 races prior to Hungary. Meanwhile he is still on the old chassis with far less upgrades than Alonso. And I'm not even going to start about the quality of the parts Vandoorne gets lol. 3 issues in 1 Free Practice at Spa, ridiculous. In Spa, Vandoorne 3 Free practices and Alonso only 2 because of Norris. But Alonso still had more tracktime than Vandoorne because of all the issues with cars. And now it's Norris that has to take the inferior car but because of Alonso's crash Alonso too had to revert to an old chassis with less upgrades so now it'll look like Norris is closer. Of course most people only look at the results and don't know what happened. The way McLaren has treated Vandoorne since the former management left is ridiculous. Ultimately, my point was, even in the comments, people support pay drivers but hit out at talented drivers that get pushed out of F1. Ridiculous. Pay drivers shouldn't be a necessity.
