    Can’t throw anything out until you’re absolutely 100% done with the project

      There will be an end to this trunk... I'm finally making some good progress and headed in the right direction.

      Thanks. I think the old trunk lid is going to be just fine. It'll take a few days, but it's gonna be solid!

    Using a section of the old trunk to repair the corner, was a great idea... it already had the profile and you didn’t have to bend up a new piece...
    I’ve never done anything with a Tig welder,, Can you control the heat better on thin sheet metal ??
    Anyway,, keep up the good work my friend,, looking forward to seeing the upcoming videos....

      Yes sir, I was blessed to come across that rusty old trunk to use for pieces. And on the tig, yes, you can control the heat better if you know what you are doing. Its a softer weld than a mig, so its easier to hammer and work. That's one main advantage.

    That turned out really nice there Phillip, going to look like it was there all along!
    I’m fairly new to your channel so I don’t know if you’ve ever done a garage tour of your shop of the other cars and engines and the other cool stuff you have? Looking forward to hearing that flathead run!

      Hey, thanks for watching! I haven't really talked a lot about my other stuff too much. I have briefly mentioned them. Maybe I should do a shop tour, that would be cool.

      Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

    • @phillipshotrodgarage
      @phillipshotrodgarage  Год назад +1

      I use a plasma cutter sometimes. It works good, but it is not as precise as other cutting tools. We all learn as we go. That is the best way. I've been working on this car for about a year and a half as time permits.

      Welding up the patch panel is in the next video. I got it all ready to weld and decided to stop to clean some rust before welding.
