I've been planning on making something like this for a while now but don't have the space (yet) to place one. Those cut-outs for air-flow are genius! Also the build looks realy nice. Great job!
Great video, lots of thought went into the design. I need to see if I can adapt these ideas to a closed in space where I plan to install sliding shelves for the various stereo components.
Cabinet looks good. I plan to build something similar for my garage. I am planning to have the fan blow in from the bottom (pulling in through a filter) and have vents at the top of the cabinet. My thought is the cabinet will then be under positive pressure (with filtered air) and I will not need to seal the case. Thoughts/experience?
@@SoundBlab Right on. I am dumb as a door post when it comes to electronics. BUT... I know dust management as I work in metal fabrication and have fought to control the grinding dust for years. Again, awesome cabinet.
VERY nicely done! Cabinet looks amazing. The airflow and cable management is well thought out, something dearly missing in most store-bought cabinets. Where did you buy the birch plywood in Cape Town?
I have revisited this build video several times now. I am planning on building a 7 foot tall rack very similar to this to house all of the gear for my home theater, as well as the gear for my living room system. I am back and forth between using MDF or Plywood for the build. My main hangup is weight vs shelf sag. I don't know that at 18" wide there will be much sag, but I am curious what your thoughts are after your experience?
I used 16mm x2 to give 32mm thick MDF shelves and they are doing fine so far. I don't think you will get sagging with MDF over such a short span and thickness of material.
Nice build. I noticed you are using those generic mitre bars with plastic adjustment wheels for the bottom of your sled. Are they any good? They're suspiciously cheap compared to branded ones.
Thanks! This is actually a mitre gauge I got from Banggood.com. Once set up and tuned to your table saw, it is remarkably accurate. It's this one: bit.ly/2OZAF9H
This is my first time watching. I'm impressed with your work on your STEREO rack system. I'm in the process of rebuilding a large size entertainment center, I'm interested in the shelf hole jig. This is a first I've seen this tool at all. Where can I purchase one?🤔 The hinges are tricky due to their sizes. Meanwhile enjoyed watching I'm got some good pointers on the tools you use as you were building. 🙂
I modified an "antique" one purchased at a garage sale. Wish I had a tablesaw.( Nice thought-ful design)
Thanks
Noted that this was 3 yes ago but none the less!
This rack is a perfect example of practicality and design
Thanks for the inspiration
Awesome, thank you!
Ohh, I really like the grooves for the shelf pins! Great idea that I simply must steal. 😊
Thx for putting together the video and sharing!
Any time!
Beautiful work
I wish I had your skill level - you make that look easy !
Thanks man!
Looking good Hanri, liking the new intro too!
Thanks Richard!

I really enjoy your videos! You really come up with some great projects.
Thanks
Très ingénieux le meuble avec 2 ventilateur
Thanks
Very nice and good job at the intro animation.
Thanks!
Only two pins per side is "bare essential". Maybe it's just me but I would double that for extra safety...
2 per side is fine, it has been holding up my fairly heavy AVR without any problems for some time now.
good idea
Thank you!
Do you have plans for the build available for sale?
Very nice. Little pitty that you didnt cut out the corners of the inside of the acrylic door.
Thanks! I did consider it, but just had so much to do that I opted for the compromise.
that is just killer.. many great ideas in your build \MM/
Thanks!

Thanks. That is actually not something I thought about and sounds like a better option compared to what I have here. Great idea and worth trying!

Where did you buy the birch plywood in Cape Town?
Thanks man. I get the birch ply from The Board Store in Woodstock, but I think nowadays most board suppliers do stock it.
where are the build plans for the unit
Interesting - is there a PDF with construction plan? regards, Thilo
Sorry no, I did not put together any plans for this one.
Is that your house where you make all you speaker
Please tell the sizes of ply cut
Dimensions to the cabinet please
Do you have these plans available for sale?
Dont have plans for these, sorry 😬
Восхитительно

@@SoundBlab Excellent, thanks so much!
hello
the list of materials and cut can you share it?
Sorry man, I don't have any details on this build anymore.
Nice build.

Pluik! Ek gieniet regtig jou builds.
Dankie!
Spolit by background noise! Why do you add - it is totally unnecessary and very dsitracting and annoying.
Each to his own
Please man do not divided your vedio in so many parts
It's a very large project over many months, so it's how it is unfortunately.
