That is a great idea for the retractable pads, we never though of just using an impact. We have been working through lots of more complicated ideas to do something similar on a bench but you nailed it, thanks

Hey Mitch! Well done! Looks really sturdy too. I have a similar project planned for my welding table only I’ll use retractable casters instead of retractable pads. Thanks for sharing!

How's she goin'? The bench turned out nice Mitch!! Having rollers on your gear in the shop is nice but there is always the problem of how to keep them from moving around. But these adjustable 'hockey puck' feet are the answer!! Way to go. Thanks for sharing and take care!!

Great job Mitch. Neat idea, as was the drill for the threaded rod. Top notch fabrication as always. The new shop looks real nice. I'd love to get a steel chop saw sometime. Do you like the Evolution? Wen also makes one that looks decent.
Thanks Case😁👍Well I ended up returning that saw I have a upcoming video on it. In my opinion the vise is not strong enough and blades cost around $100 bucks after tax so you could be in your pocket pretty deep if you wreck a blade like I did so soon. I would go with a good size bandsaw. Slower but you can have more control over the cost of replacement blades. have a great weekend😁👍🚜💨🍳
