I had the same problem, my trailer would squeek in until I got to the tires. i was able to re-drill the mounting holes for the uprights and move each side out 3-4 inches. Since the I beam is still above the upright I believe I have not diminished the load capacity. My only problem now is my roof is not as high as yours.
Why not use the tractor to lift the hoist motor???
@@TheOjoneso The weather was below freezing and when I lifted the frame I had to open the doors to clear the exhaust out. Thanks for watching 😁👍🚜💨☀️
My shop is VERY similar to yours. Lathe, mill, TIG, MIG etc. After years of welding on the floor, then, on a self made welding table (4’ x ‘8 by 1/2 thick), I finally splurged & got a ‘real’ welding table. It’s from Langmuir and it’s modular. Wow! What a difference! Milled flat, precision holes for clamping. I should’ve done this sooner. Anyway, beats cleaning weld splatter off your table saw. Hope this helps and thanks from Tennessee.

I love to watch you fabricate, Mitch. You are so talented! That new and improved gate makes your trailer the bomb! I like the idea of taping the furnace filter to the fan. Brilliant!! You made a mistake, so what, we all do it. But you came up with a plan and fixed it. That is what matters! Cheers!

I couldn’t tell you how many hole I drilled on the Oakland Bay Bridge during the seismic upgrade retrofit. Big 3 1/4” holes for huge hog rods to squeeze that bridge together. Busted off thousands of rivets and got rid of all the steel lacing. Replaced them with steel plate and bolts. We were making good time, until the terrorist attacked the World Trade Center. Then we got two bomb threats on the bridge. The powers that be shut us down. I was there for the money and then I wasn’t making any. So I just drug up and drove back north to my house. Went to work on the McNary dam rehab, the bridge cranes inside the powerhouse.

When setting down the heads, I use two of the old cyl head bolts as a guide. I just cut the heads off of the bolts, get them started in the block, and after the block is down, install a couple of the new bolts and remove the cut off bolts. You can use a hack saw to cut a slot into the top of the cut-off bolts to insure that you have a way to remove them if you run them down too far to get your phalanges around them.
@@otpyrcralphpierre1742 That is a great tip😁👍thanks for sharing I am sure someone will find it as helpful as I do.😁👍🚜💨☀️
I have observed that the most common point of head gasket failure is the #4 cyl. Don't know why, but I suspect that it has something to do with the PCV valve, as it is the closest to that point of the intake on that cyl. I'm gonna install a "catch can" on my PCV valve line and try to prevent this. Again.
@@otpyrcralphpierre1742 A catch can is always a good idea. Thanks for watching and Have a great weekend 😁👍🚜💨☀️
I have found that on a LOT of these engines with the 3.5, the #4 cyl is the one that most often blows the head gasket. Don't know why, but that is what I have observed.

Gantry crane can be your friend aka back saver. Maybe helpful suggestion on your vertical bolts, install the bolts down and nuts on the bottom. My logic is if the bolts get loose gravity should at least let the bolt act as a pin instead of complete separation with the bolt on the ground with the parts. Or if you're real safety minded you could tack the overhead bolts or drill the ends and add a cotter pin in case of the nuts backing off from the twist and flex from the crane.
