This is the exact reason why I'm getting into stepping up my 2-stroke diagnosis game. I have been very lucky for many years getting away with not having the pressure and vacuum test gear. But now I'm getting more into saws I need the gear. I know it's going to save me time and I can send machines out knowing %100 that they are right. Great video 👍

Just found a 2022 ms 201 t c-m and this channel. My quesetion is... What is the best way to run it during break-in? Do the learn procedure right away or run a couple tanks through it first? I don't like the idea of running it wide open with no load for 90 seconds.
Are you getting spark if you pull the plug and ground it to the case, then pull it over? I've got one here thst needs a fuel solenoid as it won't send fuel, but has good spark.
Mine cuts off in mid cut and have to re start it every 5 min. My local Sthil dealer tried to fix but it’s still doing the same thing about 2 months later and 140$ repair is not warranted. You ever had an issue with some sort of short circuit?
Can you recreate the issue on the ground without it in the wood? Try flexing and tweaking the top handle. I'm leaning toward an air leak at the intake boot or the wiring harness has a compromised wire. That's my best guess with the limited info and not having it on the bench.
The next go round for Stihl will probably be a bit better. 200T was a great saw a after the 020. Now the 201. I’ll probably snag the next redesign that comes along. They’ll probably have the bugs worked out of it. For the most part anything is possible with engineering they just have to make it happen.
IMHO the newest version of the 201TC is a very good reliable saw. It doesn't have the grunt of a 200 but it's high strung and will cut just as fast with a little work.

Someone gave me a non running one that I will fix. I am surprised you do not use the brake when not cutting.

201tc no start. New spark plug. Cleaned it out thoroughly. About 1 year old.
FWIW, Stihl recommends a new plug and fuel filter twice a year for their MTronic saws when used daily.

Need a little more closeups of the saw - I see you good but cant see what you are doing to the saw!

Roller Bearings always needs Greased.
Electronic is bad choice for chainsaw.
