My favorite mission in the Campaign has to be the Red Baron, driving a Firefly taking on the SS Panzer Division. Bunch of Panther I’s and Tiger I’s then the Tiger II came in, the King Tiger. It was so badass when bunch of Rocket Typhoon hit the tank then the soundtrack playing over it was so good
A few things I noticed. The Lee-Enfield has the shooter's right hand clipping through the rifle (On the scoped Lee-Enfield as well). They also slowed down the bolt cycling for it for some weird reason. When you aim down the sights of the Walther P38, the hammer moves based on if you are ADS'ing or not. The Kar 98k has it's safety on but can still fire. The StG44 bolt is cycled once before reloading and then again after mag insertion (Why?) The Panzershreck is missing it's blast shield (it was rarely seen without it). This was needed to protect the operator. There are more I missed I'm sure. That being said, I loved this game as a kid when it came out and put many hours in it.

Well, it actually because different developers, Treyarch, and not Infinity Ward. Also Treyarch doesn't reuses the animation from CoD 2 like they did with the console port of CoD and CoD 2.
Forgot a couple, got the mounted MG42's, all the vehicle animations and their associated guns like the Vickers, the satchel charge planting animation, mortar firing animations.
This game looks better than WaW since it was built from the ground. WaW was built on the same engine they used in CoD 4 and lazy devs just recyled animations and sounds from CoD 2 and 3. WaW is still an amazing game tho and one of my personal favs.

You are correct... Maybe its because they used the same assets for the last few games and could build on it (since they were all in the same WW2 setting) and when they switched to modern warfare they had to start over again?

In my opinion it still holds up today, the graphics have a detailed but weird tone to them; the campaign takes place on multiple factions. The reload animations, albeit awkward and wrong in some cases; have good momentum and feel. This was the very first CoD game I played and I loved the multiplayer.

It's because CoD 4 was made for console and CoD 3 was made for PC first so they had more room for graphical stuff.
