everybody hates on the tactical mk iv pistols for having rails. I strongly disagree, I shoot lots of nocturnal critters around my farm. Having a light on the bottom and red dot on top makes it easier. It's a great combo for just a handy little rimfire for farm use
I intend to buy and use one the same way as you. Do you use subsonic ammo or a suppressor to avoid waking the kids or neighbors? A friend gave me a laser dot sight. I would like a flashlight on it too. Any related tips?
I have a Mark II that I bought new in 1980 and still works well. hard to take apart and put back together so I avoided that. I just used penetrating oil to lube it and still works fine. Use it 3X a week at the range still. I just may buy the tactical just to have it . Trouble free is good to have.
The 4.4” barrel with a can shoots all subsonic and standard velocity ammunition subsonically. The other offers you presented won’t shoot standard ammunition subsonic.
22's are GREAT. If one masters a 22, he can easily transition over to just about anything, I have seen that over and over. It is ceap enough to buy by the case now (2020) a case is about 5,000 rounds, or a little bit more, run that through it and see the differenc in your shooting.
You actually wouldn’t need subsonic ammo with this short of a barrel. There isn’t enough length for the .22lr to reach the sound barrier. Nice video though!
Does the pronounced angle of the grip pose any issues for you? That Luger type grip is unusual for me, but I have this exact model on it’s way to my FFL now. Thanks for the great video.
I’ve heard that the barrel length on the Tactical is short enough, that even standard-velocity ammo is sub-sonic through it...Have you had the opportunity to try that through a suppressor yet? Thank you for the video. 👍🏻
I like that Buckmark you have. I could not find a decent deal to get the Browning so I bought a new Mark IV 22/45 Target with bull barrel which is a very nice accurate shooter for $340
Interesting, I've seen other videos where the bolt release couldn't easily be moved unless you pulled back on the bolt at the same time. Yours just snapped down.
Thank you for that great video, i am looking right now to buy a Ruger Mark 4 Tactical from somebody that shot only 250 rounds with it, so its pretty new i guess, dos enybody have experience with this gun on 50 meter?? Is the Modell Target alot more precision than the tactical ore almost the same because of the 4.4 ore 5.5 barel?? i hope to get a answer, have a great day all of you and cheerz from switzerland🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭
This is a very nice firearm. I'm considering getting this model, the Ruger Mark IV Tactical or the Ruger Mark IV Hunter. Does anyone have a comparison between the two? Thanks!
I’d say it depends what you want to use it for. For a can, get the tactical. For a varmint hunt or target/bullseye shooting get the long barreled hunter.
Ambiguous User personal preference. I have shot both. I have the tactical and my friend has the 22/45 lite. The lite is definitely lighter weight. If you like 1911’s you’d probably like the grip angles better on the 22/45 lite. My preference is the tactical because I like the grip angle and I like a metal lower. I also go out doors shooting a lot and I didn’t want the 22/45 lite because the front cut always can get rain or dirt in them. Hope I gave you some ideas.
Nice video. I disagree with a mag disconnect "safety" feature. There are more reasons why they are not needed than the opposite. Imho, this is just another gimmicky feature that is used in order to make any pistol seem "safer". I understand the issue with younger kids, but if a child (I am assuming at least 9-10 years old) can't be trusted with grasping the seriousness of weapon manipulation then maybe he/she is not of age to bev allowed to handle a firearm.
When you just learn about guns you shoot a .22, more experience you shoot bigger guns, more experience than that you go back to a .22
2 or 3 of those will stop most things
I started big and went to .22 Ruger Mark IV Target. Love it
Yep lol
So true!!!
Truth.

that easy takedown , sold me
And if you don't like them, they come off....
I love the tactical ad it already comes with rails installed right out of the box.

First video of yours I have seen. I like your style, and it was a great presentation!
Just got one. Fired it for a while and then mounted a red dot on it for the hell of it.

CCI Stinger and Rem yellow jacket are still supersonic even out of this barrel but otherwise yes
So what holster are you running that in with a light?
I think your safety was on when you were showing the mag disconnect , that is why you couldn't fire with the mag in i think. Correct me if i'm wrong.

late reply but you are correct!
Great video again

Nice video. Thank you!
I own a Ruger slabside Mark ll seven and three-quarter inch barrel extremely accurate even up to a hundred yards
But a bitch to clean Bruce. I got the Mark IV for that very reason.
Not really it's not that hard to clean there's just a couple of tricks you've got to know
Are the rails removable? I want a mkiv as a dedicated suppressor host but I like the clean classic look.
Yes they are. I took mine off, added a front hiviz sight, and checkered hogue grips. With a can it’s simply awesome.
Get the target model with threaded barrel
Don’t forget the muzzle break!!
Will a Silencerco Sparrow suppressor work with this Ruger Mark IV tactical?
Yes. The Spectre too
why a suppressor on a Ruger .22? They’re not loud firing so is there another reason?
Interesting, I've seen other videos where the bolt release couldn't easily be moved unless you pulled back on the bolt at the same time. Yours just snapped down.
Dr. Mauser was that the lite version? I heard the lite version is polymer, which causes more friction that the metal lowers... not sure though
Thanks 4 the video. Love the dbl rails. Red dot + laser on the lower rail. Placing my order end of the week.
I ended up with the 2245 Tactical model 40149 and love it. I did not want an aluminum grip frame so that's why I got the 2245 version

Lock slide back, how does mag eject then?

can you remove the top rail If you wanted to? great video.
Yes
would like to see you eval the Glock 37
Necron99 I’ll see what I can do!
@@DesertGuardian GREAT
Would like to have one without a threaded barrel and without rails
Would you recommend a laser or a red dot for a beginning shootet
learn to use the sights and avoid an expensive Red Dot until you want to move up.
Best Ruger Mark IV video out here on youtube , thanks
Which suppressor(s) are most effective for the Mark IV ? What is the best buy price, dealers ?
Mask dead air
Look at the Silencerco Spectre too
I wish someone would do an ASMR gun box opening with a suppressed Mark IV tactical
What's better lite or tactical?

@@_Pymander Thanks for feedback, Its unfortunate about these gun laws in California.
Ambiguous User what’s wrong with the mark iv that you can’t get on in California?
Great video man! Very informative! Question, can one use .22 Magnum ammo with this gun?
No, this is 22 LR only
@@DesertGuardian Thanks for the lightning-fast reply! Thanks!
no magnum .22 for these!
Доброго здоров'я!) Велика подяка за огляд.
Pistol parlour must be in mesa
SW corner Gilbert and Southern. Great store. LOTS to see.
Is the lower half plastic?? Looks like it. But nice pistol anyway, BB
Bob Burnitt it’s milled aluminium.
@@myleskandalaft2424 OK, Thanks for the reply!!! Thanks Again, BB
Some of the Mark IV models are aluminum. The Mark IV Tactical is Polymer.
Bruce Wolfe mark 4 tactical has aluminum frame, the mark 4 22/45 lite has polymer frame
ชุดแต่งของแถมปืนดีนะครับนะ

i would really like to see you review a GAU-8. lol, liked this video though, thank you!

USSConcordia
safety was why you couldn't fire it!
scottdeaussie the safety was on but he is still correct the IV will not fire without a magazine
