You're right, the phrasing stays the same on this riff with those last two notes. In the Bronski Beat track, there's a mistimed note in that riff around the 20-second mark- I always hear it every time and it annoys me when I do! I love checking into Luke's videos for the synthesisers and the playing, unfortunately, the Arturia collection is the best I can manage to try to set up these recreations!

Sitting there thinking, I think maybe I just saw the name somewhere. Really great playing but the main riff on the DX7 is wrong. The fifth note should be the same as the the fourth not back to the first note.
I didn't notice this until you mentioned it and now I can't stop noticing it 😀
@@electroid8119 Ah. Sorry Electroid. He's a good player though. I also think the last note in the sequence should be a D natural. The trouble is sometimes you hear ghosts in the mix when you listen to records. For years I thought the main riff on 'Are Friends Electric' had a double note on the upbeat. (So CC G, Bb Bb F, CC G, BbBb, octave up Bb E. ) Turns out it's the bass doing the double on the upbeat so it sounds as though it's the synth, as the Polymoog is in a low register. And I am a huge Numan fan, bought the album when it came out and, only realised this a few years ago. DOH! I am clearly also a pedantic music geek into the bargain.
Fuck. I see an ARP Odyssey and a Hohner Clavinet in the thumbnail and think "I love my Odyssey!" then I notice that you also have pretty much all the other classics in one room..... I would kill for an Oberheim OB-8 and a DMX. I'd link them together and never leave my room again! Lol. You see the new Prophet-5 and 10 rev 4?
