I love how you played the last part using two synths! My band covered this back in the day and I always struggled with trying to make it sound authentic while playing it with one hand on the same keyboard.
My freaking DX. What a mistake selling that that thing. It had stopped staying in sync even with itself. Would just instantly slow down at any moment & keep playing messing us up....but I loved it for all the years it had worked.
Yeah that you could have been repaired or locked in. You guys should also consider something they call a GPS disciplined clock. It puts out a 10 MHz reference signal which is deadly accurate. They use that 10 megahertz reference to keep Scopes frequency counters Network analyzers and other test equipment in sync. But you could use a decade divider to get the signal to any frequency you need to hold all the synthesizers directly and lock. Even if they're in different places on the planet they only could be out of phase and not out of frequency with each other. GPS disciplined clock.
@Phineas Gage It‘s not a copy, let’s call it he heavily drew inspiration from it: The base rhythm is identical, and the off beat at the end of Luke‘s short piece resembles something very similar in Axel F. Although, you are right, Faltermeyer added his original melody to the piece.
To me, those analog '80's synths will always sound like the future.
I agree totaly
Incredible.. wish this was 10 mins!!
Oh My god you are awsome !!! thanks Love Vince
Absolutely LOVE Yazoo, one of my favorite jams from them. Hope you had a great vacation.
Thank you. I had a really nice break away :)
The sound of my youth
That DX drum machine is extremely solid. Never hear it mentioned much but it sounds great.
I had my headphones on and wow.
You make it look easy!
Thanks, Luke!

Vince would be proud
Nice! My favourite Yazoo track too.
Very well done! When those drums kick in…. 👌
This is FANTASTIC 😁 Clearly a huge passion given the phenomenal amount of very expensive, vintage kit.

They do have a mind of their own. I use Ableton CV tools to keep it rock solid via clock input.

GPS disciplined clock.
Sick bro !!! 👍🏽👍🏽
Full version please
This rivals the original. If such a thing can be said.
Hey Luke, Nice treatment. May I ask about copyrights? I want to use this riff for a podcast. Thank you, nice work.
Nice pmcamera placement.
I was expecting to see Axel Foley walk by.
Vince Clark used a tr808 ...the main differenze ...
“Axel F” rips this song off so much
Never thought of both songs sounding the same... After decades, I can hear the similarities.
zajebiste xD
In this song, the Roland TR-808 was heard.
My goodness
nice but I KNEW I'd be disappointed by the lead!
0:46
0:18 Do you play variations or is it an automation?
muy bueno, pero el tono del clásico string no es ese, creería que puedes encintar el correcto...like
Too short
And two years later copied by Harold Faltermeyer‘s Axel F...

hey, you are not from this world
Well, not quite a re-creation, as it doesn't follow the song exactly, I'd call it an interpretation.
