You nailed it perfectly. I have been studying singing for some years. But I was stuck with a half baked voice. I just could not progress. When I saw your first lessons I knew you were right. Some how I was immediately referred to a specialist optometrist where I discovered I had been seeing double on my left. I got prisms and WOW! My whole left visual field opened up. I started visualizing the left side ground meeting me halfway. And in one voice lesson everything changed. My voice had this new dimension and fullness. Now I am working systematically to reintegrate the left side. Brilliant!
Yes! Thanks God I found this guy. I have always thought our bodies are perfectly symmetrical... I would have never started healing with such bad informations in my head 😅
6 months into the basic PRI exercises, and I am starting to neurologically sense the ground. I go in and out of it sometimes. The feeling is unlike anything I ever felt. The first thing I sensed was my neck felt loose like the wobble head figure people put on dashboards. What an amazing feeling when your mind is free from the constant pain messages your neck muscles are sending. Thanks Neal
This worked instantly. For the first time in my life, I noticed that my lower teeth stays to the right involuntarily. Seconds after I placed my teeth in the middle, my body automatically shifted position and I could distinguish left and right better. Thanks.
I have a myriad of symptoms in every system and my back has been problematic since I have use of memory. It's tight and sore from c1 to tailbone. I remember always walking on tip toes since kinder garden, instinctively, so much so that my toes grew clawed. I'm 40. I remember being in pain and with a hunched back, but doctors said spine was fine and my posture was normal because I was growing breasts and girls get ashamed of it 😆 nobody believed me when I said I didn't mind them and I just wanted to get help to feel stable and pain free. Nobody believes me when I say I am chronically fatigued plus intolerant to exercise (too much pain in my back plus can't cool properly, can't breath well and feel ill), they think I'm just lazy. Needless to say things got worse when I got braces (it was a very bad doctor). Now that I've found your channel I can't even start to imagine all that this problem in my back caused or where to start trying to fix it.
Neal Hallinan thank you Neal! I do remember you mentioning salsa on IG. That’s amazing 15 yrs! I’ve been curious to try salsa but never got around to it. It looks like a lot of technical footwork and having a good partner.
Thank you for videos! They have helped tremendously. With this info, I get great benefits by driving barefoot with my left foot and shoe on the right. I can ground easily by putting pressure into my left heel. Also at home one sock on right, barefoot on left really works, especially with rhythm walking. Thanks again you’re truly helping people.
I'm so grateful for finding your channel! I feel like I've known much intuitively but these are the kind of answers i've been looking for and it makes so much sense. Also kinda relieved to know I'm not the only one experiencing this. Thank you!
Neal, you are a rock star and have explained an abstract concept very well. My right SI joint is loose, and I thought I was in the right AIC pattern until you mentioned in another video that it is highly improbable that anyone has the right AIC pattern as most people are in the Left AIC pattern or PEC. I'm 61 and have lived a very physically demanding life in the woods logging. Broke front right big toe multiple times and also broke the left ankle in a logging accident. These injuries have me walking on the right outside foot and also wearing down the left outside shoes. When I walked, heal strike on right foot, but no follow-through onto the big toe. Then on the left foot, the left heel would gingerly strike and I would roll off the front left 3-4 toes on left foot. I have no sense of ground, so am working on footwear, breathing exercises and stretching. I'm a left side breather - deep into left abdomen when I'm running. I'm also a mouth breather, so exercises that have one breathe in, I instinctively breathe in with the mouth and out through the nose. I know you are in New Jersey, which is far from Alaska. Your reach is very good. I don't know why my right SI joint is so loose, but it pops. I'm an athlete in very good shape, but have been living in constant pain for 35 years. I'm a long distance cross-country runner. I have to stay in great shape for pain management. - yet I still live in pain. I'm still searching for options and ran across your theoretical approach in August. I'm noticing results with the Standing Wall Supported Ischial Femoral Ligamentous Stretch. My objectives seem to be: Find ground (am wearing stiff, supported shoes); and Get stacked (hip tilt/shift/stop leading with my neck/chin) How do your services work?
I endured this tight neck on one side for several years and enrolling in swimming lessons and doing it daily for 4 months made a world of difference for me.
Wow! I am like this absolutely. I remember a chiro had a device to measure muscle tension (EMG?), and it was 5 to 7 along my spine up and 22 on the right side of my neck. He didn't pay attention to that... I also have a lazy left eye and lazy left foot. Whenever I stand I notice my left foot tends to turn left and be on the outer edge. I am not sure I will be able to go through the same journey Neal as I am in Australia and there is no PRI here. At least, I can do your exercises for now in the hope they will help a bit with that muscle tension.
This explanation makes sense for me considering i broke my left hip and had left knee orthoscopy in high school. My left ankle has broke atleast twice since high school. I definately have trouble sensing the left ground.
This makes so much sense. Ive had issues with my teeth my whole life and have a good amount missing. Ive had neck and shoulder tightness that wont go away no matter what i do and the front and back more toward the outside of both shoes get worn quicker. Id like to find out what steps to take to begin correcting this. My bite is shifted to the right and slightly back. There is a lot of compensation happening between left and right side.
Does that mean that just fixing your vision would fix all other problems, regardless of doing the pri exercices, insoles etc. because as I understand, the vision problem was the main cause of all of that?
Great question. Fixing my vision simply "unlocks" the system and allows change to happen. Previously my vision wasn't allowing change to happen because it kept locking me up. The glasses aren't treatment themselves. It just allows for change to occur. You still have to do PRI techniques to integrate your vision with upright activity.
Hi Neal great job as always. I have just one question: did I have to correct pelvis position first and then get the prism glasses, or I can buy them while I m doing pri exercises and my pelivs is not in alignment yet ? Thank you for your amazing work and dedication 🙏
For the past 8 years (possibly longer) Ive had aches and pains among other things that have been gradually getting worse. About 7months ago I started a new job (landscaping) which was very physical and hard work all day. I enjoy this kind of work however the aches and pains rapidly got worse and I developed a tilted hip. I recently was at the chiropractors and he said I have mild Scoliosis which was very surprising to hear at 30years of age. My spine has no obvious curves to it, just a pronounced right side when I bend over. I believe he did the Adams test or something which shows its true scoliosis and not functional. However, I have been watching your videos and have experienced almost all of the things you talk about from the feet to the vision(Weak left Eye), neckpains (worse on right side) muscular weakness and so on. (I had an injury to the left hamstring) So to my question. Is it possible for the things you describe over a long time to culminate and appear as true scoliosis? I understand Ive not given you much to go on, I could have written an essay but didnt want to bore you. Anyway, thank you for the videos I really appreciate the knowledge your sharing.
Absolutely. You probably don't have scoliosis. You probably have a left AIC right BC pattern. Doctors don't know what they are looking at. The vast majority of scoliotic spines result in the exact same curve as you'd find in the right BC pattern. They call it "idiopathic" scoliosis because they don't know the origin. True scoliosis is rather obvious and spotted in children quite readily. If it's not "discovered" until you're 30, than it's more likely that you are in the right BC pattern.
I have very recently begun studying your teachings and I began to suspect that my minor right thoracic scoliosis, discovered by a masseuse in my early fifties, was identical to the right BC pattern. Thank you being the first movement professional to bring this to my attention.@@NealHallinan
Theoretically, yes, yoga is helpful. However, there are many people who are doing yoga in a way that isn't beneficial to them for the state that their body is in at the present moment. They are too unstable to not overuse their back and neck in unproductive ways.
Almost all Postural Restoration techniques included the left heel and right arch. There isn't anything special about it, you just bring your awareness to those areas, feeling the ground under those areas. Your brain responds to pressure from the ground, we are directing that pressure to where we lost sense of the pressure due to the pattern.
Great video Neal. I'm pretty sure I have a right torsion, because of my long term wisdom tooth pain on the right side and my jaw is retruded on the right/protruded on the left and kind of deviated to the right. I feel like its that one thing that makes me go back to the pattern and not stay neutral. Is the acrylic splint necessity if I want to get out of it?
Hello Joni. My experience would say yes, and that's also what PRI teaches. A true right torsioned individual is using their stomatognathic system for stabilization. That "habit" has to be interrupted by a splint. Otherwise your neck will keep tightening up, pulling you into extension. I do have a video about this exact situation on my channel.
@@NealHallinan Yes I've watched it (right torsion video) I think two times now haha.. Sad that the splints are so expensive and I think its hard to find a dentist that understands these things from PRI perspective from Finland. Any advice what kind of professional I should seek for?
Hey Neal, I've been binge watching your videos for knowledge and clues for the past 2-3 days and I have to say, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, I hope to do for others what you're doing for me one day, really, really spectacular stuff. Now to the question I have in mind regarding the brain sensing the ground. When I lie on the ground with my knees bend(prior to putting my feet on the wall for 90-90) everything is alright, no pain. The moment I put my feet on the wall I feel like my brain totally freaks out and my right leg starts hurting bad starting near the buttocks and going down the leg almost to the ankle. If I do the hip shift it starts hurting even more. I guess I don't feel save enough with my legs on the wall, I am not feeling enough "ground" on the wall and my brain freaks out. Is this what you mean by saying that "some people aren't ready for some of exercises"? What's your take on that? Any suggestions?
Yes, that's what I mean. That 90-90 position is probably not a good position for you at this point in time. Everyone has different challenges, that's why there are different positions available to achieve the same concepts. Lots of people struggle with the 90-90 position, especially if they are "patho PEC".
I have the same issue with my left eye. Has any of your vision in that eye been restored? Vision therapy was suggested for me, but I have been told conflicting information that it probably won’t work for me as an adult. I have spent so much money on TMJ and tongue tie that I don’t have money to blow on more false hope. Thoughts?
Yes, I have complete vision. My eyes always worked (although I always needed glasses without realizing it), it's just that my brain chose to "ignore" the image from the left eye. I'm not sure what your situation is.
This may be sort of a loaded question, but if someone is experiencing a lot of what you talk about in these videos, would one be better off going to a PRI certified provider than a dentist, podiatrist, or eye doctor for answers and solutions? I’ve seen all of the above besides a PRI provider, but they aren’t really looking at this from a PRI perspective in relation to postural issues and the underlying patterns involved with them. A lot of them don’t even know what PRI is. I have two PRI certified therapists within an hour drive from me and I’m desperate enough at this point for answers and solutions that I’m willing to schedule an appointment with them, seeing as this is looking like a battle I’m not going to be able to solve and win on my own.
I am so thankful for your videos. But how do I explain this to my eye dr.? so that they can help me correct this without making them feel like I am lecturing them. I have a problem with my neck being so tense on my right side and tilting my head more towards the right, it also does mess with my vision and I notice a change in my cranium and the way my features are arranged. I also have had dental work and I do feel like I am not always touching both sides of my molars. I really want to correct all these problems, but it seems like you need a team of drs. Dentist, Optometrist, etc... It can get disheartening specially when I am stressed the pain gets so bad on my neck that it brings me to tears.
What would you say about E.D. and hyperjoint mobility? Also do you ever travel to West Coast?🤔 Ps...im really taken by your approach...this will be a journey!!
Ehlers Danlos? It's tough to deal with because of all that instability. It's tough to inhibit the overactivity of the hip flexors and lower back muscles that your brain is relying on to stabilize your pelvis. Check the PRI website. There are providers out there.
many thanks for your videos. quick question, should the orthopedic insoles be the same height at the heel? i got those from a doctor with deifferent height at the heel( because of leg length discrepancy), and after some months my left knee hurts, and i feel my left hip goes more forward and oriented to the right with those insoles. your opinion could really help me. thanks again.
can i fix my imbalance without mouth guard i know i have little more theeth contact on right side but i cant afford it, can i fix my imbbalance just buy pri exercise
Yes, not everyone needs a mouthguard. Establishing good left side movement and stability often takes away the extra right sided contact, but it depends on each person's situation.
wow! Thank you for this video, very specific and makes a lot of sense. Would it also help to cover your right eye, or add a small incline to step on with the left leg ? Is the orthotic to make the left foot essentially longer or is it for the right foot arch sensory issue?
Covering a right eye won't really help in my opinion beyond perhaps just a momentary intervention to decrease sympathetic tension. On the other hand, many PRI techniques have you stepping on a two inch block under your left foot to "bring the ground up". The orthotics were because my arches were so high, there was no pronation going on at all for either foot.
Neal- This is your best video and explanation Ive seen! Much easier to understand for us common folk. How do you recommend we get that specific prescription of glasses needed?
Most people don't need them. They just have to do PRI techniques. My vision wouldn't allow the techniques to work fully. Only a small percentage of people need vision help.
Hey Job. Well, they only work if you actually need them. Someone who doesn't need them would probably feel awful. You only go the vision route if all other intervention fails. People should go through at least five or six real PRI sessions with a very qualified practitioner before even considering what I had to do.
Hi @@NealHallinan But my case is same as urs I m not able to see Clearly with my left eye and my jaw shifted to right same as urs Can u plz give some info regarding glasses that u have used
hi Neal can postural issues and being not grounded cause pains inside and around the eyes- as well as allergies around the eyes like ocular rosacea is this a common issue that Pri patients face or is it just me
Hi thank you for the videos Questions? How do we know the ground level . I have been in the same environment all my life doing the same thing does the grounds effect it.
HELP I have had a dislocating left foot all of my life, that ended up killing my talus now I have a 3d printed titanium talus fused to my heal. I have always struggled with what you are talking about in this video and it has only gotten worse. I don't know what to do at this point, pointers?
I just got into running again. I noticed it feels better if I run on sidewalk sloping left to right, so the ground is closer on my left side. My left foot doesn't have to reach as far to hit the ground. Maybe your explanation is the answer why this feels better to me.
Im very interested, massage theralist, always noticed those imbalances, and none osteo, chiro, physio could tell me why this patern. I m -16 left eye and-11 right, so totally in same situ
Dear Neal, Thank you for another amazing video. I’ve been practicing the techniques at home and have seen great improvements. My left side sciatica disappeared within the first two weeks, after ten months I have little to no S.I. joint pain, my neck is a little looser too. I am wondering if I perhaps have the eye issue you describe here as I feel the benefits aren’t sticking maybe I’m too much of a hurry ! But I do have amblyopia in my left eye from early childhood so my vision in my left eye is limited and my right eye does all the work. I have reading glasses only which only make my right eye work harder. Is this the same eye issue you’ve had ? Thanks again for the brilliant content in your videos.
Hello Huma. I'm happy to hear that you feel better. I don't think you are in too much of a hurry (actually I think you are unbelievable patient to do the same techniques for 10 months!) it's just that the techniques on my site are introductory techniques. There are other aspects of a PRI-based program that go beyond those four techniques. I imagine you need more than just those few techniques. Most people do. On the other hand, a history of amblyopia can certainly cause neck tension that can spread all the way down to the pelvis musculature. I had a lazy eye that was never noticed because I had no accompanying eye turn. So my brain ignored my left eye so I wouldn't have to deal with double vision. I didn't know this, of course. I don't know your financial situation, but perhaps an online consultation would be of benefit. I'd be able to assess your situation and give you a program to work towards.pritrainer.com/on-line-consultations/
I went to an optometrist and PT who does pri and they prescribed me "Training glasses" where the left side is Just a green color filter and the right side is prism. With them on all my tests went immediately negative. So im asking myself If Training with These will make a permanent effect on when i'm Not wearing them? as the PT Said i will propably need to use them every Other months for the Rest of my Life... Also i read that prism is only good until you get used to it and your eyes get lazy and you need Stronger prism all the time...
Feel like a lot of these issues are caused by wearing footwear with elevated heels. I bet if we all went back to minimalist footwear then the issues would slowly disappear.
I think minimalist footwear on real earth is good. On the other hand, I don't think minimalist footwear on asphalt and flat floors is in most people's best interest, particularly if they are in pain. That's my professional experience. People say sneakers are un-natural, which is true. But flat floors and paved roads and sidewalks are also unnatural. So we are already living in unnatural environments. Something has to give.
Do you think mouth guard is compulsory to reverse the unbalanced. I had one for two years and I didn't feel a change with it but more tension in neck, mouth.. So I stopped to put it.. Some people use PRI to release the pelvic et spine, then FRC they do the rest. It is a viable combination for you? Thanks
I recently found out that my pelvis is tilted, the left side being lower than it should be. Does this relate to what your talking about? Or do you have a video recommendation related to this? Thank you!

Do you have an office where you can see patients? I would like to pay for an exam to see what i may require
Hi@@NealHallinan if possible plz made a separate Video on the glass that u have used
This may be sort of a loaded question, but if someone is experiencing a lot of what you talk about in these videos, would one be better off going to a PRI certified provider than a dentist, podiatrist, or eye doctor for answers and solutions? I’ve seen all of the above besides a PRI provider, but they aren’t really looking at this from a PRI perspective in relation to postural issues and the underlying patterns involved with them. A lot of them don’t even know what PRI is. I have two PRI certified therapists within an hour drive from me and I’m desperate enough at this point for answers and solutions that I’m willing to schedule an appointment with them, seeing as this is looking like a battle I’m not going to be able to solve and win on my own.
Yes, you should see the PRI provider. Of course, not all PRI providers have the same amount of experience/knowledge, but that’s what I’d start with.
Can you please share the names of professionals who helped you overcome this?
What would you say about E.D. and hyperjoint mobility?
Also do you ever travel to West Coast?🤔
Ps...im really taken by your approach...this will be a journey!!
Do you wear the dental splints throughout the day?
What about when you lay down feet off the ground. And if you’re not wearing the guard
@@NealHallinan thanks neal!
Neal- This is your best video and explanation Ive seen! Much easier to understand for us common folk. How do you recommend we get that specific prescription of glasses needed?
i second this! how would one go about getting these appropriate prism glasses
Hi @@NealHallinan But my case is same as urs I m not able to see Clearly with my left eye and my jaw shifted to right same as urs Can u plz give some info regarding glasses that u have used
Love from india
hi Neal can postural issues and being not grounded
cause pains inside and around the eyes- as well as allergies around the eyes like ocular rosacea
is this a common issue that Pri patients face or is it just me
Hmmm I experienced a left eye injury (got hit with a baseball) back in 9th grade. I wonder if this is why my right hip is in pain?
Damn! Unbelievable!
Does anyone know if there are practioners in Guateng South Africa????
Is getting wisdom teeth out on only left side a problem for PRI?
Hi thank you for the videos
Questions? How do we know the ground level . I have been in the same environment all my life doing the same thing does the grounds effect it.
Did this mess with your neck ? Or make your neck tight at like the occipital area ?
That is very normal when someone has a forward head posture.
What type of eye doctor you recommend?
Great vid but awesome mic drop ending :)
Do you wear your splint all the time.
I love you bro frfr this info is diomand with sprinkles and chocolate drizzle syrup
I'm glad you are enjoying the channel.
Can this prisim concept be put into contacts or glasses only?
i so need to work with you God willing.
Very nice 👌 👍
Instead of the mouthguard, would simply keeping teeth apart be sufficient?
Not for my situation, or anyone in my situation.
What If you do have a mal occlusion?
What kind of eye doctor should we go to?
Behaviour optometrist
If I said that to a dentist in Ireland, they'd laugh and tell me to brush more
HELP I have had a dislocating left foot all of my life, that ended up killing my talus now I have a 3d printed titanium talus fused to my heal. I have always struggled with what you are talking about in this video and it has only gotten worse. I don't know what to do at this point, pointers?
Youre amazing
Who are the optometrists in Nebraska you saw?
At the Postural Restoration Institute in Lincoln. This entire channel is about PRI.
How did you get rid of a cross bite? Braces?
Amazing 🔥❤️
Hi Neil do you use SKYPE or SKYPE BUSINESS for your online consultations? Pls help
Yes, I use Skype. Just email me. Nealhallinan@gmail.com
I am guessing that's why it doesn't stick with me, and that closing my eyes fixes and relaxes my posture and corrects exercise form.
That's certainly possible. Perhaps you are experiencing binocularity issues, in the sense that your two eyes are being used equally.
I just got into running again. I noticed it feels better if I run on sidewalk sloping left to right, so the ground is closer on my left side. My left foot doesn't have to reach as far to hit the ground. Maybe your explanation is the answer why this feels better to me.
It's certainly possible.
Im very interested, massage theralist, always noticed those imbalances, and none osteo, chiro, physio could tell me why this patern. I m -16 left eye and-11 right, so totally in same situ
Dear Neal,
Thank you for another amazing video.
My neck was so straight last xray i asked if that was me! Looks not good!
So i must do the 90/90 first?
So my lazy left eye could of been the start of all my problems
It’s possible.
I don't know. That's not my area of expertise.
@@NealHallinan :(
Feel like a lot of these issues are caused by wearing footwear with elevated heels.
Even if you're a lefty? it wouldn't be opposite?
you have glasses now. your vision has been corrected.
did glasses help you? they did correct your visual system.
Why aren't you wearing the mouth guard?
I don't need it anymore.
neal what are your thoughts on Qi-gong??? are the movements a form of pri?
Honestly, I don't know enough about it to make any type of educated observation.
Thanks
What is prc
I recently found out that my pelvis is tilted, the left side being lower than it should be. Does this relate to what your talking about? Or do you have a video recommendation related to this? Thank you!
Yes, look for my playlist all about lateral pelvic tilts.
I suspect this dude needs a special test
