Life changing video - this perfectly puts into words the problems I've been feeling throughout my entire body for the last 4 years but could never identify. Like you I had braces that fixed my teeth/jaw into an assymetrical position, and after they came off in 9th grade, I was hit with chronic injury after injury when I had never so much as twisted an ankle despite playing 3 different sports throughout my childhood. I would sit through classes in high school squirming around in my seat sometimes because I had such visceral feelings of random tension in my back or twisting in my hips. I'm so lucky that I found your channel and others like it so early when I'm only 18, I would have gone crazy wondering what the hell was wrong with me all while being told by any mainstream medical professional that it was all in my head. People like you, John/Mike Mew, and Andrew Huberman who bring these life changing ideas to the public for free online are really creating so much positive change in the world by giving people control/knowledge of their bodies back, it really is amazing.
@@OatsOats good question, because Neal talks a lot and throws a lot of medical jargon & abbreviations around, but there are ZERO actual tips about what to do.
@@roguewave1060well its impossible to give you just one excersize to do that magically hits everyones imbalances muscles. What you really have to do is really low weight kettle bell hip thrusts but to get to that point you have to achieve a position closer to balanced than before so in my case I have to try really hard to keep my ass pulled tight ensuring my right hip doesnt come up and my left hit doesnt go down through controlling the lower back, same thing with glute bridges etc. For my torso I kinda imagine the lower 2/3 to be abs contracted and back pushing backwards (not straining) and thorassic spine pushed forwards. Also flexing the front of my body while trying to relax and breathe through my back while laying in bed at night really helps too but I have to go reaaaaally slow otherwise I breathe with my abs/front ribs instead.
Exactly, everyone tells you "it's all in your head". Thank God my stubbornness did its job. I went to see a renowned physiotherapist in my country. He just looked at how I walked into his office and immediately put this diagnose. Wish you luck and I am glas you got this issue resolved. 🙂
@@OatsOats I've been seeing a postural restoration certified physical therapist in my home state, who uses the same thought process as the PRI in this video. It's helped tremendously and I've regained significant range of motion throughout my body over the last few months. I'm also planning to see an airway-focused orthodontist soon to see if the type of mouthpiece that Neal talks about in this video would further help me.
Its crazy how much pain you can generate from this. Ive always told my doctors i feel uneven, but they just ignored it straight up. I have had flat feet my whole life. Fastest way ive found to solve it is to roller skate!! It is all balance and stabilisation. I feel like my body is getting much smarter. It also forces your body to learn a more regular stride length once you get into street skating.
@Basketball American id recommend quad skating twice a week… inline skates are fine for beginners, i use both! It’ll take about a month to feel confident on them but its the best decision I’ve ever made. Dont buy skates less than £80 to avoid low quality ones.
@@omalone1169 my first skates were rookie quad skates but theres loads of skate websites. It is worth the money and will train coordination, balance and most importantly posture!
This is the most important video I’ve found on this matter. I never took into consideration my jaw posture. For the duration of my entire life I’ve never noticed how my jaw has been higher on my left side giving me a left hip hike. As soon as I started fixing my jaw posture everything is starting to make so much sense. I grew up wearing braces to fix my crooked teeth and of course how can that help you If you have a crooked jaw. Your explanation has brought me to the right track, finally. I’ve been trying to find a solution for 2-3 months now ever since the problem has become more apparent and worse. My walking was such an issue to the point where I quit my job just to handle this situation. You’ve saved me time and my mind is at more ease. Thank you deeply. Going through this issue yourself and conquering it is truly an inspiration. I was on the path myself, but you’ve given me the little cheat code early. Thank you
@@samathum4711 wow that comment didn’t age well. So I’m still on my posture restoration journey and I’m undergoing orthodontic treatment to fix my open bite, crowded teeth, and my mandibular deviation. I’m currently on one month. My bite keeps me ungrounded leading to my postural issues. I even see it with braces on; my bottom jaw favors my left side so my right side doesn’t get any teeth contact. It’s actually very interesting, but atm I still have pretty bad back pain and shoulder pain. You need to find an orthodontist who provides a holistic approach; one that takes posture into consideration.
@@samathum4711at this time I’m going through orthodontic treatment to give myself a functional bite. I found an orthodontist in frisco Texas who provides a holistic approach that focuses on the bite and your posture. I’m currently in 4 months. My results have been very interesting…I no longer rotate my torso to the left and my pelvis to the right. I cannot confirm if the influences on my bite and cranium are benefiting my body, that just seems too good to be true. But we will see. I’m also seeing a PRI therapist in Dallas TX to address my other issues. Good insoles, possibly custom, and maybe vision intervention may be needed in my case.
Years of looking through forums and youtube videos to find whats wrong with my face or assymetry, and I find this gem that explains everything I'm going through perfectly, but in my case its my left molars and left side that's more pronounced, even my left eyesight was better than the right!! at a young age I had a head trauma on the right side of my eyebrow so I guess whatever happened happened, but I'm glad I found a basepoint to start fixing my issues thank you so so much!!
Same here! My left side just has all this "pressure" and I just "feel" it more. My body literally leans with my right side higher. This video was like a relief that someone is actually explaining the same thing

Neal you have been God sent. I have been following your videos and blogs. I am now seeking help from the Institute because I am quite the complex case. But you were the window to all of this, I am so grateful.
Read an article you wrote and wound up here, the story you told sound just like mine and I feel sure this is my affliction. I've been struggling and contorting myself for 18 months with no relief. I will try these methods and hope I can get my life back. 🙏
It’s incredible how accurate you’re explaining my reality. Everything you say I start shaking my head ‘yes’. Pain my entire life (since around 13yo) was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was about 12, had two growth spurts and “spine straightened out” but hips were left out of alignment due to development with a curved spine I believe. Pain everyday, all day, my entire life. Pain as I’m typing this but the ‘shifting’ of weight to left leg and breathing relieves around 80% of all inflammation. My pattern looks like yours or worse.
This makes so much sense! I grind my teeth so bad and have pelvic tilt. One day I was trying to stretch my hips & move my hip one side separate from the other and it was like my brain couldn't do it not my body but my brain. Thought I was crazy until this video. Thank you.
I was missing this last step! I have been watching so many other videos on youtube about si joint pain, lateral tilt , posture practices and they all have helped temporarily until i back one wrong move that cause my right side to tighten up again. You are so RIGHT its my mind telling me that I need to protect myself and after watching your video i put some mint cream on my side that gets tight, then I started to tell my self to relax that side , and OMG ive never felt this way in a long time
You are a legend! I have gone to pt and told them the exact symptoms you were describing and they never could help me. Thank youu! You understand it and can help fix the problem!
One legged standing is great for balance and situational awareness... do you think it would be helpful to stand on the left leg only, as an exercise, to encourage the left side to sense the ground more?
I have distributed nearly all my weight to my left foot for years. My right foot is turned out more than my left, but all the weight is on the left side. I am very much left-dominant, not right-dominant. This applies to gym movements etc. as well.
@@NealHallinan But I think you should qualify that is the strict PRI viewpoint, based on the observation of relative diaphram sizes. But the diaphram is only smaller because of sharing space with other visceral organs....limb lengths are still a major factor in walking ergonomics, and limbs are still generally symmetrical
I recommend watching this video. Also like Neal has said in lots of videos, you need to get tested. You can't test yourself and it might be something else not the pattern. ruclips.net/video/9KntPsVyKYU/видео.html
Some days I feel like I'm losing my mind being unable to escape from these painful and tiring signals that my body wont stop sending (hips, front of neck, shoulders wrists, back, sciatica, eyes ). I had pectus surgery as a kid but to this day (im 33), I've yet to achieve a neutral spine. I stretch daily and am in decent shape. One day I really pushed myself to almost passing out in exercise and as I lay on the floor breathing, my body felt so euphorically good, and I've never achieved that level of body good feeling again. It was like two whole minutes in heaven of my spine being in alignment. Then I got up off the floor and went back to real life. I never been able to achieve that state again and constantly battle with my spine and hips for hours a day. I watch videos and do exercises and mediations for this stuff and try to fully experience every joint and muscle fiber to build my mind muscle connection. It's been years and I'm at the end of my rope, the last time I talked to my ortho about this, they were talking about surgery as my last option and fusing my lower spinal vertebre, which would just be treating a symptom and put me out of commission for a long time. It's kinda like I'm never able to experience my whole body at once. My daily evolution at this point is a shifting of positions into whatever is least painful, unless I'm able to get so focused on something else until my body inevitably reminds me that some nerves are turning off. I wake up in the bear trap every mornign and slowly pull myself out of it and loosen up, only to find myself in the same trap the next morning. I have no clue what to do anymore, and feel completely out of control of my own body even as I continue to develop physical skills, coping mechanisms, and a deeper mind muscle connection. Reading these comments at least makes me feel less alone with this issue, as none of my friends family or doctors really seem to get what is wrong with me, and talking to people about it just makes you the 'sick' person. It's a really dysfunctional way to live mentally and physically. If you can relate and have had success with something similar or any insights to share please do share for me and everyone else who is desperately reading these comments for help. And thanks a lot to Neal H for his hard work and dedication to helping people with these problems. This is a really life ruining problem so I'm sure he's helped a lot of people with this information
I am incredibly thankful I found your videos. I am a 26-year-old male who has never had braces. I suffered an L5 stress fracture in high school from powerlifting, and ever since I have had severe tightness on my entire left side from my hip to my upper neck. I have never had braces, but due to TMJ on the left side of my jaw, I had a mouth guard made for nighttime to alleviate some of the symptoms. When I am walking throughout the day, I do not feel pain on my right side near my hip, however, if I engage full weight onto my right side, I can experience shooting incredible pain up my spine and down my leg that is completely mind-numbing and this can occur if I am hanging too freely from a pull-up bar as well and then drop to the ground too quickly. I have looked at my mouthguard after watching this video, and I believe that I have the exact opposite of what you have. I feel much more pressure in my right molars, and the left side of my teeth has less space than the right, and the left side of my teeth is caved inwards with the back left molar sticking out to the side. I have a few questions: How effective will this mouth guard be in reducing my tightness of the left side, how much do you think this pain that I can trigger in my right side of my spine has caused my brain to not let my body tend to use my right side, and should I consider palate expansion or surgery near my L5 vertebrae? I am extremely tired of experiencing the severe tightness of the left side, left hip is lower than right, and TMJ.
In your case mouth guard might be not enough. You need to make your brain feel safe once again by doing exercises. (In case your l5 problem is being fixed permanently) you can check my account. I made a lot of pri videos.
@@Hikmetkarademir in my opinion - it’s difficult to fix yourself without observation. Your body will try to trick you back into old pattern.Since it’s already the path of least resistance.

Thank you for making this video, its very clear you are articulate and know the subject matter well. My sole suggestion is that a briefer video where you get straight to the point about how to resolve the issue would be very helpful to anyone watching.
Judging by the sound of your display name, you may need to start with some shoes that have an arch... I threw myself off wearing just flat skate kicks for years. Just a tip from my journey.
@@Scorpio_Sol44 insoles etc are just a bandaid solution and your body will adapt to the support instead of the feet actually building back their own arch.
@@thatguyisme5261 I’ve been doing pronation exercises and internal rotation (hip) exercises and feel the changes.. Trying to get more session with my PRI specialist to figure out the rest. Glute max is what she mentioned.
The body wants balance. When the brain detects imbalance, it tells the body to adjust. If something is stuck, then something else moves extra to make room and compensate. Through the years, I've taken note of crooked, twisted, and tilted parts of my body, and of my dominance-preference tendencies. I'm left-handed by nature, living in a right-handed world. I perform most tasks as left-hand dominant, though I prefer my right hand for other tasks. My right eyelid doesn't open as widely as my left, and (therefore?) my right eyebrow tends to involuntarily lift, so I have to make a conscious effort to pay attention to that before photos. When reading, I usually allow my visual focus to relax and split apart, "seeing double," and I use my left eye more often for reading. Having noticed this, I intentionally switch to right-eye reading once in a while, "for exercising brain balance." I am more likely to hold a phone to my right ear, perhaps to allow my left hand to take the pen to paper. I have all 32 teeth. My wisdom teeth are not causing discomfort, so why bother to have them removed! My upper right smaller incisor, number-7 tooth, shifted slightly forward of number-8; and my lower left front bicuspid, number-21 tooth, shifted toward the outside of and slightly overlapping my left canine tooth. While I can feel contact along almost all my molars, both left and right, it feels like there is a little more pressure on the left. When I slide my jaw forward, it tends to shift left when matching my upper and lower incisors together. I have decent front/ back/ left/ right/ open/ close range of jaw motion. My neck is too straight upright, as viewed from side x-rays, yet when viewed from the front, it buckles out toward the left with a slight twist and tilt in the middle. Despite this, I have a broad range of neck motion, both turning and tilting. X-rays also show mild scoliosis in my lower thoracic into lumbar spine, exaggerated lumbar lordosis, and my sacrum has a posterior tilt. Torso tilt and rotation are pretty good all around, unless I try to do a back bend. My right shoulder sits higher and rotates slightly forward; my left hip sits higher and rotates slightly forward; and when seated on the floor splay-legged, my left leg rotates outward. The outer right edge of the heel of my right shoe wears out faster in comparison to the left, and the right insole shows more compression wear - a result of harder strike from having a right hip closer to the ground than my left. It's no wonder that I tell my chiropractor sometimes that "I feel like a Twizzler." I can definitely feel a difference in pelvic position when roller skating (at a rink), between clockwise and counterclockwise turns. It's as if my hips don't know how to tip-shift for clockwise crossover turns. Well... that wraps up my lunch break, and I gotta get back to work ... desk job ... I sit too long and often forget to get up and walk a bit.
Neal you have touched on a very important topic and from what I can find on the internet you're one of the few people who address this problem. I appreciate your work, and thank you very much. Also as a constructive criticism, I noticed that you like to repeat on a topic to emphasize it's importance and that can take time and make the videos longer which might stir away some people who don't want to watch long videos on a rather short concept. Please realize that it's a youtube video and we have the ease to watch any part we wish on repeat and don't require repetition inside the video itself. Look forward to watching more of your videos.
Holy heck, this is so insightful! I've been getting into Tai Chi and other physical conditioning techniques in recent years, and this ties in nicely with all that.
Great video! Good to know that there are people who not only had similar issues as I have, but also they care for the rest so they do videos like this. Four years ago while starting to do pull-ups at the gym my back and neck got immobilized, like a sudden muscle spasm. The first two years it took me to go for a massage but 6 months later I would have the same pain/ache at the left minor rhomboid zone. Lots of doctors saw me and I went through lots of specializations. In the next month I will end my orthodontic treatment and I start the TMJD treatment (with the TMJ splint). Apparently my issue started in the TMJ, for 10 years I've been hearing that clicking sound on my right shoulder and the pull-ups increased the intensity of the asymmetry of my body. I hope my back ache goes away after the TMJ treatment. For people who are in a similar situation, I have right TMJD without pain at the jaw nor facial issues or ringing issues, but I used to have the right shoulder higher than the left shoulder. Also the pelvic compensated that and I used to have head-forward position and cervical rectification. I used to chew gum a lot when I was younger. Currently I have 32 years old and this happened while I was about to be 28. Thanks for the video and sharing your knowledge. Greetings from Argentina!
Wow... It's so shocking. Last winter, while hiking, my left Crampon broke and came down supporting my right leg. After that, I spent a year working on two monitors in the office, with my upper body leaning to the right. It's hard to put strength on the left hip, and there's a difference in the length of the legs, and the body shape is the same as yours in the video. I went through all kinds of exercises and treatments, and I went to the hospitals, dental clinic and the body shape correction massage shop, but it didn't work. The content of the video is shocking and I think it's a translation of my experience. Thank you.
Tried the neck turns and found i had some nerve tension on my left bend. Luckily i was able to pull up my jaw since it was laxed and it was instantly free. But I need to get to my teeth realigned. And now I notice that my right side is more tense whereas the other can completely relax. Thanks for the idea!
Certain individuals develop pelvic tilt, following unsuspected leg fractures. During unsupervised recovery, one limb gets elongated, as additional connective tissue is formed. Unintentionally, the recovering individual adapts to the new, elongated limb geometry by tilting the upper body to remain in the individual's perceived vertical position, as the pelvis is angled to compensate for the differences. Such individuals whose healing conditions are much steeper, would appreciate rehabilitative recommendations.
Thank you very much, it gave me great relief when you said that if the jaw was deviated to the left it was not a big problem and that if I did the left aic pattern exercises I would correct the asymmetries thank you very much. It seems that there are only Americans or English speaking about this because I am Spanish and there are no Spanish channels on this subject.
I have fixed many issues I had with my body over the years since I have released the psoas I have been basically back pain-free, but I am convinced that what is still there and is not functional is due to my occlusion and jaw. I have never had braces and considering that I was not breastfed it is a miracle my teeth are the way they are. The issue is that many dentists look at me as if I am crazy or 'oversensitive' when I bring the issue up. How do I find someone who knows of all this (UK or Italy)?
Hey Neal, I’m 22 years old and have been battling what I thought was an enigma, and something no chiro or physical therapist has been able to alleviate. After really listening to my body and making the most conscious effort to unwind my muscles, I am almost at the finish line. Then to top it off I finally found you, the first person to ever explain exactly what I am experiencing. My only question is I have reversed this before not even knowing what it is, and it ended up coming back- so how do I keep it away for good?
Same man gave me and ocd like level of body awareness, started studying anatomy just so I could better assess myself objectively. I knew there was some sort of twist/rotation yet all the places I'd go to would have no idea even they seemed confused then I started to feel like I was crazy or something went to get checked for scoliosis nothing. I was just about to accept it till I did some more research and ended up here. Curious do you know what you did to reverse it?
That ocd level of body awareness is a blessing and a curse. I realized toward the end that I would analyze it too much, and think that I can feel exactly what I thought would be the issues. Breathing only thru my nose, with his book recommendation of “the oxygen advantage” along with the body awareness has gotten me basically out of the poor positions. For me I really developed bad habits of slouching more to one side and I’d over analyze everything from sitting to walking to laying down. Running helped me conquer this too, along with exercise that is quick and intense which would allow me to move sub consciously and not with so much conscious effort. Stretch hamstrings and stretch by folding at the hips while breathing calm and slowly.
I am on the path aswell. 2 months in listening to my body. I’m seeing progress. As long as you open up your body, align and stabilize we should be fine. How’s it going for you?
Well my pelvis is tilted because I was knocked flying off my bicycle years ago and because I curled myself up as I flew I landed on my left hip and lower back. Bit by bit the left pelvis tilted and impinged in my spine. This was corrected by an NHS (UK) hospital physio using manipulation. One morning 25 years later I ran about 100 yards. 3 days later I could barely walk for the pain. Turns out I had torn the ligament that links the sartorius muscle to the spine and pelvis. This has healed but everything on that side is tight. And I now, 10 years later walk with a limp as my left pelvis is a good 3 centimetres higher than the right. It doesnt help that I didnt go to the doctor because it hurt so much to walk. Sounds silly but there you are.
OMG this is so accurate. I had orthodontist treatment as a teenager, now in my early fortys: basicly all of the symptoms you mention, sensitive left heel, isciatic-like pain left, sacroiliac joint tension tension, deep breathing feels blocked, slight scoliosis in thoracic spine, shoulder-neck-problems, straight neck position, poor vision on the left eye and latent squint, chewing mostly on the right, jaw shifted to right with closed teeth, right incisor forward, asymetric jawline, cracking jaws, painfully limited neck rotation, constant pain right up in the neck close to scull, feeling of a blocked atlas. 😮🥺😥 what should I do? Willing to go for it. No therapist ever got what I have. Pls help. Thanks for your content.❤
WOw! This video was such revealing. I'm 37 with back pain problems since I was 13 or 14. I also had my palate expanded when I was 12 and the center of lower teeth is shifted to the right. I also have tinnitus, loss of both cervical and lumbar lordosis, 3 herniated discs, a visible shifted hip with hip, groin pain and TFL, biceps femoris and piriformis that hurt like a broken rib. Thanks for all this content. Just subscribed to learn more about PRI.
@@aymeric9912 first appointment is a lot of examination to learn about what’s going on and testing your range of motion. My range of motion was surprisingly decent and she said I was a “peculiar” case. My ribs were flared on the left side like what’s discussed here on Neal’s channel with the left AIC pattern. I couldn’t do the squat where you keep your heels planted on the ground at all, so I need to work on that. She gave me a couple more exercises to work on where you focus on breathing into certain areas of your body and hamstring stretching exercises.
@@asmaad4601I didn’t make much progress at all with the particular PT I saw regarding this comment. I did however see another one 2+ hours from me this year and she’s been wayyyyy better. I have horrible patterning from orthodontic issues and possibly some funky visual system shenanigans going on. I can at least shift into my left hip now which was completely impossible before.
The talk of the balance of forces in the joints is so interesting. Thanks for introducing this idea. Also I can't believe an 18min video took 5 hours to make -- way to go!

Wow, I knew I had all these issues, didn't know they are all connected. Weirdly enough, by holding my jaw to the other side, I can feel the neck muscles re-adjusting, this is mind-blowing. I'll have to fast track fixing my teeth.
If you are in the US, I'd highly recommend seeing a PRI therapist before fixing your teeth. You don't want to fix teeth on top of a mispositioned jaw. Most orthodontists to pay attention to this.
@@NealHallinan damn, I fixed mine in a mispositioned jaw because the orthodontist didn't know about this. Now I have a lateral pelvic tilt, lump and pain while talking on the right side of the throat, click on ear and all my right side of body is on a forward position, as my right feet feel numb sometimes. I started having bruxism and am treating it now. How do I proceed?
The left AIC right BC pattern is my biggest nightmare that i have to battle with every single day. I have come a long way (5 years) of dealing with this and i feel like i am turning the corner. I hope yo achieve full neutrality (or as close to it as possible) so i can have a happier lifestyle

guys, do not hesitate and please go to the source. Neal has material that if I had not come across Id be in a wheel chair. Ive had surgeons look at me, and have had my dance career taken away from me due to the conditions listed here.. I am fortunate enough that this information exists in this day of age. Whatever you do, dont stop at watching this video. get Professional help, and the best that you can manage. Get evaluated, If youve come across this video and you have a strong feeling that it pertains to you, you need not chase the white rabbit anymore lol.. go take the next steps to fix it. I am very grateful I came across his video and he puts the efforts into these.. you can do the same. This is not simple stuff you can figure out yourself ( not in the slightest ) ,but if you find yourself struggling with similar issues and youve discovered this channel. Believe me, youve done your job, now go take care of it. I have been plagued by every symptom he mentions... The shitty thing is, that it started off as something very very very small in younger age, my teens.. and later has taken over my entire body to the point of nearly requiring spinal surgery ( will likely still need, already had both my hips done thanks to this stuff... ) . Rather then being someone who struggles constantly chasing symptoms and performing basic tasks... fix it sooner rather then later. take it from me. Last but not least... let others know.... Ive been in PT, Accu, Chiro, sleep studies, pelvic floor therapy, doctors, surgeries, MY ENTIRE LIFE, but no one notified me of the core issue driving them. show them this video... or any other related video. Im talking tens of thousands of dollars ive spent on this already. I am blessed to have stumbled upon this information, not everyone is so lucky. Also, I dont normally write posts in forums, reviews, online on youtube, however in this case, given my medical history, and the long journey it has been, I feel compelled to. Wish everyone here the best health!

How did that go for you? Currently going through it and contemplating what my best course of action is. Did they restore your neutrality and fix you? Also, how feasible is it economically? A response would be greatly appreciated.
I love the information. This is just so much different to what you find about LPT. Neal- you are the best. Thank you for all your vids. Never disappointed. Life changing :).
Thanks for always commenting, Thomas. Believe it or not, sometimes I need the encouragement to keep going with this, especially because the videos that no one watches are also the most important (like spinning, rhythm etc...). It makes me sad almost, because people are missing the big picture. But then I see you comment on the video.... and my spirits are raised!
Thank you Neal. I really appreciate it. Finding your vids has changed my life and perception of a human body completely. Also, it answered so many of my questions I asked myself in the past. Would you agree that any significant change in the body biomechanics (like a physical trauma, subluxation of a bone in the spine, etc.) can have a negative impact on a smooth energy/vibration/frequency flow in the body? And would there be an energy shift from one place to another? I hope I worded it right. Is there a video where you have talked about it? Sorry, I might have missed it. Many thanks Neal.
That is exactly what is my problem. Im living in Hungary, but there is no dentist who do adult palatal expansion. My right canine tooth is pushing my jaw to the left.
Another great video. Thank you. You are helping me on my journey to health. I have been doing the beginner exercises and learning as much as I can. My biggest concern now is that I often choke in my sleep. I have always snored but recently it has gotten way worse to the point where I can't breathe and I think I am dying when I jump awake. What you mentioned in this video about a straight neck and the associated problems seems to be exactly what I am struggling with. Any tips on sleep?
My jaw is a disaster. I had a problem with it for years. Maybe a decade plus. It’s a full body situation. Hip Back Neck Jaw Legs one longer then the other. It’s a nightmare I endured. Thanks for sharing this information. I haven’t known what to do. I was a high school athlete then my life fell apart. The dental problems were the worst of it maybe..
Would one of your arms feel numb at times? And/or fingers? Also would one side of your face feel numb ? Just now at 37 addressing this issue with aligners and dentists all around and doctors seem oblivious to this connection or just choose to not accept it is the root cause. Any , who thanks for making me feel less crazy. 💜
Ma'am are you from India, I am also Indian , dealing with knee issue , sad thing is that in India there is very less people who knows about pri . Can you share your insta id
Damn your 100 percent right no pun intended i just looked at the bottom of my shoes and the tread wears out on the right side of my shoes way more than the left.I always noticed my shoe tread patterns wear out really deep on the right side.
I must have Right BC and either no AIC or maybe a Right one! From your videos I'm pretty sure about the Right BC but everything else is a puzzle. First my right hip is visibly lower not higher. Also the bunion I have is on my left foot not right as suggested in another video.. I can't see any lateral tilt just this hip hike. It probably accounts for my very odd chronic pains!
You can have a bunion on either side. If you have a higher left hip, it usually indicates a left side of the pelvis that is very unstable and you thus overuse your left lower back and hip flexors to stabilize it. It's still the left AIC pattern.
In regards to an asymmetric jaw and occlusal contact. I believe that my teeth have molded with my jaw, possibly due to grinding, into the wrong position. So I don’t have a problem with occlusal contact but my jaw I still out of equilibrium. The right side is very tense and I find myself compensating on the left. I can feel dis equilibrium in my jaw to my neck and shoulders to my back and ribs and to my hips. I can definitely tell it starts in my jaw. I feel like I need a flat splint on my right back teeth to balance things out but I feel like this could cause occlusal contact issues the left side of my jaw. I can see how this is a brain or habit issue but I feel like it is too late to fix.
My lateral pelvic tilt feels more like both my hips don’t know where to go like there not even really on a plane anymore. Feels like they both don’t really have a direction. My physical therapist told me I have to do the exercises for life and that it won’t ever be fully fixed I just want another opinion
Hi Neill at the end, 17:23 you said if a jaw is shifted to the right it is a big deal. Can you tell me why? I am right dominant but I lean towards my left. My jaw shifts to the right. I have pretty good range of motion in my neck.
I've been dealing with exactly this for so long. I'm a strength and conditioning coach and take some of the PRI courses but I just haven't been able to resolve it. 😔
Thanks for the informative videos, could you please explain how i can treat this problem as i was suffering from this lateral pelvic tilt since a long time and it's really limited my life please how can i get in touch with you?
How to widen a plate in adulthood? Wonder if a tongue guard would help train to keep tongue to roof of mouth even after appliance removed then braces? But what to do in mean time for grinding?
I have lateral pelvic tilt because of scoliosis and I have not experienced even one of the negative things you talked about. Not sure what you are talking about?
My left ribcage sticks out and seems misaligned, and doing rows seems to cause issues in my lat and shoulder blade on the left side, how can i fix this?
There is no single solution, since the human body is a system, everyone has a different one. Neil at the end of the day does a very good job explaining all the levels of complexity. Look for systemic thinking for that matter.
What sort of tilt *might* you have and in what direction if your left foot is almost always with the toes pointing outward to the left at almost a 45 degree angle but the right foot is straight and proper?
What about someone who is left handed but has SOME signs of this pattern perhaps due to injury to left foot and knee years back? Is it treated the same or can there be layers of past physical trauma that add more complexity to the imbalances?
Gosh this is fascinating. I've been digging into my own Left AIC pattern issues and the whole eyes/jaw connection makes so much sense. Have you ever tried making clients close one eye when they walk?? It struck me as a curious experiment watching this video and seems to have really curious effects on my gait. For example my sleepy left glut seems to wake up quite a lot when I shut my right eye. Is that a thing, or am I imagining things? (Huge thanks for all your 'left AIC' videos btw. So valuable for me)
Its fascinating fiding someone who know this things. What would anyone suggest if i cant get to a PRI trainer? I live in Serbia and there is no way to find anything close to this kwnoledge, many of our doctors dont even speak English so how can they learn anything... Its too complicated to learn this on your own.
Would you mind explain which PIR techniques you have done for improvement of your body balance?in your future videos please say more details about your PRI?STEP BY STEP. I appreciate you. Regards
I've done virtually every PRI technique that exists. All the techniques are trying to accomplish the same things, just in different positions and different levels of difficulty. Unfortunately I can't answer your question because we are all individuals with different challenges. You can't treat a Patho PEC client/patient the same as you would a simple Left AIC patterned individual. They are world's apart. What would work for a Left AIC patterned individual could end up hurting a patho PEC. That's why I can only talk about PRI concepts and encourage people to seek help from a professional
What’d you actually do to fix it?

I have had flat feet my whole life. Fastest way ive found to solve it is to roller skate!! It is all balance and stabilisation. I feel like my body is getting much smarter. It also forces your body to learn a more regular stride length once you get into street skating.
It's also "rhythmic"! (see my videos about walking and boxing to music).

Thank you.
And you solved it?
I was missing this last step! I have been watching so many other videos on youtube about si joint pain, lateral tilt , posture practices and they all have helped temporarily until i back one wrong move that cause my right side to tighten up again. You are so RIGHT its my mind telling me that I need to protect myself and after watching your video i put some mint cream on my side that gets tight, then I started to tell my self to relax that side , and OMG ive never felt this way in a long time
You are a legend! I have gone to pt and told them the exact symptoms you were describing and they never could help me. Thank youu! You understand it and can help fix the problem!
You're welcome, Andrew. Hopefully you can find a PRI therapist to help you.
What exercises should we do to correct it?
One legged standing is great for balance and situational awareness... do you think it would be helpful to stand on the left leg only, as an exercise, to encourage the left side to sense the ground more?
this video, your article, Athleanx, and John Mew have all helped me immensely
Real
I have distributed nearly all my weight to my left foot for years. My right foot is turned out more than my left, but all the weight is on the left side. I am very much left-dominant, not right-dominant. This applies to gym movements etc. as well.
You are still right dominant. I've made videos about what you are feeling. Search for "Left AIC confusion" or something like that.

Same bro I am so tired of this, just wanted a normal life
I am incredibly thankful I found your videos. I am extremely tired of experiencing the severe tightness of the left side, left hip is lower than right, and TMJ.
are there anyone who could treat themselvs permenantly with these exercises?
please let me know.

Omg you just told my whole life story and my body and pain perfectly 😮
Thank you.
This video is a gold mine! Great video!
You are my saviour.
You the man. I like this content a lot. You know what you're talking about
Hey Neal,
I’m 22 years old and have been battling what I thought was an enigma, and something no chiro or physical therapist has been able to alleviate.
Curious do you know what you did to reverse it?
are there anyone who could treat themselvs permenantly with these exercises?
please let me know.
@@JB0NE_ thanks very much for your reply 💖
My kneck was super straight last xray. I should get it checked again. Also, I have a c5-6 spinal fusion
Thank you so much for this video. Every doctor and practitioner thinks I'm nuts. Sharing this with my osteopath
After watching your videos for close to a year, I’m finally getting the opportunity to see a PRC PT tomorrow! So excited.
Good luck!
Hello ! How did it go ?
@@aymeric9912 first appointment is a lot of examination to learn about what’s going on and testing your range of motion. My range of motion was surprisingly decent and she said I was a “peculiar” case. My ribs were flared on the left side like what’s discussed here on Neal’s channel with the left AIC pattern. I couldn’t do the squat where you keep your heels planted on the ground at all, so I need to work on that. She gave me a couple more exercises to work on where you focus on breathing into certain areas of your body and hamstring stretching exercises.
@@Fillet_O_Chrishello! It’s been 2 years. How are you doing? How successful it was?
@@asmaad4601I didn’t make much progress at all with the particular PT I saw regarding this comment. I did however see another one 2+ hours from me this year and she’s been wayyyyy better. Actually paid attention to the clues I was giving her. I still have a lot of work to do but we’re making progress finally. I have horrible patterning from orthodontic issues and possibly some funky visual system shenanigans going on. I can at least shift into my left hip now which was completely impossible before.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD ! Thanks for this video.
From personal experience _ one side of the rib-box will be more expanded than the other!
The talk of the balance of forces in the joints is so interesting. Thanks for introducing this idea. Also I can't believe an 18min video took 5 hours to make -- way to go!
What are some excirseces i can do at home to fix my uneven shoulders??
Nice video... I corrected my teeth problem and Nick problem when I became a nose breather instead of a mouth breather
I'm from India. No one even addresses these issues here. I have been suffering since a decade. I ve been breathing with by neck since long.
This video is underrated
Great job
Wow I have all this , raises hip to the left right nipple is higher than left one , constant tight lower left side of back , flat feet , on even jaw , snaggle tooth on left k9 constant neck/trap tightness , left hip joint pain but less mobility on my right , I’m only 22 and fit and very active thought I was alone in this had no idea all this was connected
There are lots more connections than people think. The body is all "one".
@@NealHallinan So, see an orthodontist? Also, thoughts on dry needling? That has significantly reduced my pelvic tilt.
How do I proceed?
are there anyone who could treat themselvs permenantly with these exercises?
please let me know.
@@nousername5673I think he meant to write DONT pay attention to this
Orthos don’t pay attention to it
The left AIC right BC pattern is my biggest nightmare that i have to battle with every single day. I have come a long way (5 years) of dealing with this and i feel like i am turning the corner. I hope yo achieve full neutrality (or as close to it as possible) so i can have a happier lifestyle
Jimmy, do you live in the US?
I also have these problems since 9th grade. What’s pri? I don’t know what to do now with those informations🙃
Thank you. The information with your delivery is amazing
You're welcome.
Did you say ninth grade? Me too! My performance in sports just dropped in 9th grade after a stellar eighth grade. I look like your old pic and still in pain and a bit inflexible. This video totally resonates. Thank you
You have wonderful solutions.
You need well analysed and scripted presentation to help more people and help yourself in the process.
Thank you!👍
I tried mewing 4 years and I’m seeing huge improvement
It’s my left leg pain and does cracking make it worse
guys, do not hesitate and please go to the source. Neal has material that if I had not come across Id be in a wheel chair. Ive had surgeons look at me, and have had my dance career taken away from me due to the conditions listed here.. I am fortunate enough that this information exists in this day of age. Ive been to only 1 other PRI trainer, but I really gota say... Neal really is more then a youtuber lol. He seriously knows his stuff.
Thanks for comment, Alex! Let me know how things go.
Great stuff, keep it coming! I start PT with a certified PRI trainer last week and I am soooo excited to begin my journey.
That's great to hear. This video should help you understand the context of the things you are doing. Good luck!
@@NealHallinan How do you share the concept of PRI or alteast point them in that direction for someone who is in pain and clearly exibiting the right dominant pattern without sounding like a nutjob?
Could you please explain to me what PRI does mean ? Can you please help me to start my journey too as I'm suffering from the same problem
Thanks for the response

How did that go for you? Currently going through it and contemplating what my best course of action is. Did they restore your neutrality and fix you? Also, how feasible is it economically? A response would be greatly appreciated.
Would swimming help? Feels like its the best for this
I love the information.
@@thomas2081 Yes, absolutely. It’s all about energy flow.
@@NealHallinan Thank you.
I been using splints
Those are called apneas. Go see a sleep therapist and get a CPAP as soon as possible.
You are suffering from sleep apnea .
Are r u mouth breather?
yep those are apneas most likely due to chronic hyperventilation. Look for buteyko breathing method for a permanent fix.
My jaw is a disaster. I had a problem with it for years. Maybe a decade plus. It’s a full body situation.
Hip
Back
Neck
Jaw
Legs one longer then the other.
Sir please make a video on locked knee and tibial rotation thankyou
Great video. I see you are in New Jersey. How do I schedule an appointment?
*What about prolo therapy to help with cervical instability?*
Dude, you need to clean your whiteboard :)
Great content. Love every video so far.
your vids seriously deserve multi millions views. EVERYONE ins the health industry needs to watch your videos
Get well soon
My lateral pelvic tilt feels more like both my hips don’t know where to go like there not even really on a plane anymore. Feels like they both don’t really have a direction. My physical therapist told me I have to do the exercises for life and that it won’t ever be fully fixed I just want another opinion
Hi Neill at the end, 17:23 you said if a jaw is shifted to the right it is a big deal. Can you tell me why? I am right dominant but I lean towards my left. My jaw shifts to the right. I have pretty good range of motion in my neck.
Thank you Neal. Good video. Breath-work like WH method helped me a lot with similar (orthodontic)trauma.
I agree, breath work is good for so many things.
What's the best way to start by myself? I'm feeling overwhelmed with order of operation...
What if you have structural leg length discrepancy?
Do you videos of some of the techniques?
Could you spell or link some of the courses please
How to widen a plate in adulthood? Wonder if a tongue guard would help train to keep tongue to roof of mouth even after appliance removed then braces? But what to do in mean time for grinding?
My jaw to the left
Do I use splint ?
Does my teeth are the origin or I only do pri exersices?
I have lateral pelvic tilt because of scoliosis and I have not experienced even one of the negative things you talked about. Not sure what you are talking about?
Does this condition could be related to radiating sensations on my face going towards my arms? Everything you teach really makes sense to me.
My left ribcage sticks out and seems misaligned, and doing rows seems to cause issues in my lat and shoulder blade on the left side, how can i fix this?
I dont understand saying neck breathing and jaw movements. Pelvic tilt confused brain. How do we fix these
What are exercises for the neck as a result of this?
Can anyone pin the point of this video? Where's the solution???
Watched the complete video but no solution mentioned.
He is always like this, too micha talking.
15:40 he explains what he did but it doesn’t really help 💀
There is no single solution, since the human body is a system, everyone has a different one. Neil at the end of the day does a very good job explaining all the levels of complexity. Look for systemic thinking for that matter.
On a bicycle I can turn to the left easily but cannot turn to right with that mobility that I have on left side turns
I feel like my right is shorter then the left as well so i feel like right side has to compensate to even up.
How much does this problem take from a person's height, and when he solves it, how much will his height increase?
What sort of tilt *might* you have and in what direction if your left foot is almost always with the toes pointing outward to the left at almost a 45 degree angle but the right foot is straight and proper?
What about someone who is left handed but has SOME signs of this pattern perhaps due to injury to left foot and knee years back? Is it treated the same or can there be layers of past physical trauma that add more complexity to the imbalances?
Okay so what am I supposed to do now? What are the exercises. Pls help
How often are you wearing the splint?? And how did you test for vision?
