      Keep watching his videos. The info will start sinking in and you will be able to apply it for yourself. You know your body better than anyone. Use hos knowledge through his videos for yourself. You can also set up an appointment with him via Zoom for troubleshooting or extra help and even to just get started if you need help sorting it out. Also, check to see if there are any PRI trained people around your area, you may be surprised.

    I walk 5 miles every morning. I'm 56. I do something that people look at me strangely sometimes. I only walk this way in the morning because covid-19 really screwed me up.
    I lengthen my stride and push off with my back foot and lead every step with my hip instead of my knee. This makes me lower my pelvis into my load-bearing leg, stretching my tendons and ligaments inside and around my pelvis. Over 3 months, I was able to correct my posture by stretching myself around my tendons that are in pain. I no longer have pain from covid-19 in my tendons and ligaments. Stretching my hip flexors and tendons put everything back in place and allows me to pump blood into my tendons.

    17:55 Haha. Maybe this is (in part) why some people love moving to music so much. I mean, I feel like I always have to find the right songs to "feel good", and it makes sense then that the songs that make me feel good also help my movement pattern.

    It is unbelievable, i realized for myself that the jaw/hips/spine are connected and 1 day later i find your content, never even searched for anything like this. I also found out within myself that the eyes, heart, solarplexus, gut are also connected (the whole system but these are also major hotspots). The tension and cramps are manifestations of emotional/mental stress and it is all interconnected. I also love how you go into mysticism in your content and that you like to "feel" your body, same as i do. It fills me with great joy that you prove all my suspicions about my body right, and i came to all my conclusion with just introspection and feeling my body and my breath. I do a lot of yoga (propper traditional indian yoga) and it completely changed my life and your work is really helpful in this chapter of my journey. And yeah, breathing is the key to all of this. so happy to have found your channel sir, god bless you.

      Oh yeah and what was also really helpful for me: Try to sleep on your back with no pillow (unless you are badly out of shape or have any other medical reasons not to), that was a huge gamechanger as well.

      the same thing happens to me. the moment I realized it in my head, the algorithm showed me this video. it knows us better than we do ourselves, which is generally scary, but in this case it was the blessing we all needed. I love your content doc, keep it up

    I just tried this and it's the closest to magic I have ever seen. My mother language is German, then I learned English, then French. I was a very shy kid, but loosened up a lot when I grew up. So I always felt that when I speak English and even more so French, I am a lot more relaxed compared to speaking German, because I learned these languages when I was "outgoing". Lying on my side, my right leg extends way lower up than my left. I then tried speaking french and it moved up way way more. Switched to German, couldn't lift it again. I tried it ten times and still can't believe it. This is the start of something completely new in my journey to restoring my health. Thanks for your video Neal!

    Neal, the information you give is incredible. After decades of debilitating pain and doctors and surgeries, 2 months ago my left leg spun outwards and my psoas and a large chunk of muscles all over started working. Since then it’s felt like I was having a skeletal alignment done every day. I found your channel last week and it was like a punch to the face to watch you describe and outline the relationship to every single problem I have been dealing with. Bombarded with answer after answer to a lifetime of unanswered questions. I’m hopefully going to keep improving and will be seeing the nearest pri trained physio next week. I never post comments but I just wanted to thank you for sharing all this info.

In the most videos I have watched you talk about the Left side and mention that the right one is different. Have you made any videos on the right side? I believe I have this problem on the right side with si joint pain, hip pain, shifted pelvis and lately very unstable walking with the Left knee going out of position (i have to put it into position couple of times a day by "shaning" the knee lateraly till it slightly cracks). Thank you very much in advance.

    I want to shake your hand and say THANK YOU so much. I am 60 and when I was in my early 30's I started chiro for a headache situation. It was a course of care that helped many things. At that Time I was told my pelvis was rotated and tipped. I have that slight turnout of my left foot. I have spent 1000's of $$ in a meriad of modalities trying to get myself aligned. Now I can put my money to better uses.

    This is gonna be esoteric, but I think welcomed considering the nature of this video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I am currently going through The Gateway Experience by the Monroe institute. Your name was mentioned in a community forum discussing how to relax the body. I have had chronic tension from past traumas throughout the right side of my body, manifesting itself in dis-ease in the form of Dupuytren’s contracture and Ledderhose disease, among other psoas/diaphragm tension. I have been on the path of health and personal growth for the last 10 years after a very long dark night of the soul. Three years ago, I began a spiritual awakening by beginning to hear certain frequencies (I believe 111hz being the most significant) and began to hum the sound constantly throughout the day. Since then I have experienced profound healing throughout my body. During this time I have also been seeing an acupuncturist and a cranial sacral therapist that have helped tremendously, but I know deep down that the resonance that I am creating in my body through a humming or “oooohing” have profoundly restructured my body. I am a musician, who stopped creating music for nearly a decade after it broke my heart. My greatest pains in life took place in the years following. I am grateful for videos like this that help confirm that my path as an artist is integrally connected to my healing, and unique human experience. Thank you. This is next level consciousness, that is helping to greater expand understanding of this mystical/physical experience. Thank you for your service and sharing you work. I will continue on my path in the arts with even greater peace and understanding of its innate healing. Onwards into the Unknown.

      Mine is a different and sadly much less detailed case. More of a hunch really, but anyways if theres a place to talk about it its gotta be here. As a kid i remember that when i was about 4 or 5 something happened that bothered me alot, it wasnt something that you could really complain about, as it wasnt any sort of abuse or ''trauma'' it was something ''dumb'' like i got cut off while saying something by my dad and i forgot and got really frustrated, im not sure it was exactly that but it was something relatively minor like that.
      I got this deep feeling of ''until i remember this thing and can say it i cant go back to living normally'' and then all my problems began, before that i remembered every day as part of my life, after taht everything started feeling like it was unimportant, until the only thing that remained was ''i dont know why but i know im not living'' the more i look into health the more im scared its gonna come full circle and the seemingly dumb reason for the start of my problems might be the real thing

      @@aguspuig6615 Thanks for sharing your story. My two cents for what its worth. Awareness comes first before healing. You have that. Awesome. Healing can take place through numerous modalities. Self Love, Shadow Work, Therapy, Plant Medicine, Compassion Key, Emotion Code, Yoga, Qigong, Sound Healing, etc. You don't always need to know all the details to move energy. You can alchemize the wound, and to a young child, a trauma is a trauma. I have faith you will find the healing you desire if you choose to move towards Love and healing and put fear to the side. God speed on your journey.

      .... It's not dumb at all! Good insights, just keep listening to what is trying to be said to you with your internal ears. It's a filter system for clearing emotional byproducts of energetic encounters. Just listen it will notice, process & pass. Just like digesting physical food/energy, we need to digest emotional fuel/energy. Try with sativa/indica blend. They are the enzymes needed for this process of growth. Current humans are deficient in endocannabinoids due to the aborant de-evolution.

    Neal, as a former biomechanical engineer and running athlete, you have reshaped my entire perception of my pelvic and shoulder issues and I've been in much better shape since. Could you make a video sometime talking about your specific educational path through your certifications of PRT, CSCS, LMT?
    More specifically the order in which you received the certifications and how you made the decision to get specific ones? Not necessarily the inspiration or particular life events that led you down this path, but moreso how the path itself was walked.

      I got my ACE personal training cert first. Then I got my CSCS. Then I found PRI and went through the credentialing process. Then I realized I needed to be more hands on with clients, and for legal protection, got my massage therapist license.

    Wow! I just stumbled onto this video. I’m 84 and I’ve been trying to connect the dots for more than 20 yrs. It’s myoclonus that shows up in the abdominal area. My muscles contract and release at the rate of two times per second…no exaggeration. A drug calmed it down to once per second but it won’t stop without Valium. This brings me hope….if my old brain can take it in and remember. Thank you so much!❤️

    Hey, I'm 3 weeks into debilitating pain. I'm a personal trainer and chef so this has been really really hard on me. Thank you for making me aware of where life will take me. I have a channel where I post about how I lost 100 lb & what works best for my clients.
    I thought I just had sciatica but no, that is a symptom of my left lateral pelvic Tilt.
    It sucks starting from square 1 again & again but your channel has given me so much confidence in this area. I'm about to start watching all of your videos.
    My 90 day transformation starts March 1st. The program has gone from getting ripped to being able to walk - pain free.
    What a paradigm shift I am going through once again.
    I'll try not to be a 'psoas' about the hand I've been dealt ;) lol

    This is so true. I love dancing and it’s a great stress buster for me. When life gets busy and stressful and I fall behind I literally feel my back getting stiffer and stiffer and in no time my right side will start spasming, bad enough that I can’t move. After some PT and strengthening, I get to dancing I can literally feel my spine relax and hips get looser and smoother. Thanks Neal for explaining this so well.

    Neal my left ribs finally fell out of extension after 16 years! My left bite is flatening out. My digestion is improving because i feel fuller now that my torso is untwisting. My left intercostals are now working since my left side is no longer in extension. Thank you for sending me down the right path!❤

      What exercises did you use of his to make this progress? I’ve had chronic flare ups and lower back/sacrum/hip pain and glute weakness for 5 years and his foot against the wall exercise felt very hard with right leg up and left leg up my right hip cramped badly. I think it might finally be a light

    Thank you, your videos are helping me. I have EDS and hPOTS and MCAS. Disabled from iatrogenic medicine (Cipro). Still recovering, a decade later. Still can't sit (or drive) due to nerve pain. People have no clue how difficult life can be when you can't sit at all without pain.

    I live and care for my grandmother who has a number of legit ailments but who I have observed is very psychosomatic as well. I have been trying to communicate my own intuitive and experiential understanding of this subject to her but her bias is strong toward what her doctors prescribe in most cases. Hopefully she'll be willing to listen to your advice and instruction and we both find some relief. Hate to see her in pain.

    Sir, I believe you, because I am French-Canadian, and sometimes I need to speak in French to access certain things. My mother is francophone. Studies show that babies in the womb if separated from their mother still super quickly pick up their mother's language. I grew up with dad, not mum, but I picked up French SO FAST I sound native, something impossible for almost all French students. I have to listen to French music and films, it's like oxygen for me. I ❤love English, too, Shakespeare and James Joyce. Peace between English and French people. Thanks for your amazing video.

    😮 I think my mind just got blown away.I was sitting in bed scrolling my phone for some useful videos on how to introduce my new cat to the existing one in my house😅 Since I was following some related osteopath videos,I guess I got this video in my feed...Before watching this video I was in a big back pain of my left side.I don't know why I have this hip pain for about 2 years...my hip,my leg and arm are in pain everytime I walk or everytime I just sit. I have listened to you...noticed I breath like s**t on my left side,I am quite an anxious person and cannot relax and breath fully into my lungs. So,as I lay in bed,on one side with my cat😅 I had a Eurika moment and tried to relax and breath after listening on all these explanations.I HAD MY HIP RELAX AND FELT WARM IN MY LOWER LEFT SIDE OF MY HIP AND PELVIC SIDE!!!! like both hips finally relaxed and I can feel both of them when I walk now. I can actually feel my leg muscles normally contracting. I think the brain is just showing me that I can fix this issue❤ Thank you for this video.

    I watch your videos all day and the information resonates so much with my experiences, I owe you a huge thank you for the inspiration and support, and you are the first person I give a subscription to in my life. I have two years after the removal of the L4/5 disc with persistent paresis, mainly of the right leg, other problems with C5/6/7, cervicobrachial syndrome, but since the refusal of surgery in 2019 surprisingly very OK, but with symptoms of instability of the upper C spine, including the "pleasures" associated with n.vagus, dizziness, palpitations, panic attacks and repeated BPPV from the right ear.I feel much better in the last months, work hard again, I have a great need to dance, I always sing in the shower, even if I don't feel like it, I play music at night, and I often exercise my jaw - with your information it makes even more sense. :) I'm trying to walk more, it doesn't hurt so much anymore and I'm not limping too much and I'm trying my best not to live in fear of the future, I'm 42. With your tips, everything seems more cheerful and maybe my story will help someone else, or it will give you a reason to think about people with unilateral paralysis, in my case the leg became numb after compression of the nerve and at the same time became hypersensitive, stiff, often in a cramp, so I would be interested in how such the vestibular system adapts, hopefully for the better, even if I don't really believe it...THANK YOU!

    Straddling cultures and languages for 40+ years I'll vouch for the effects of mood manifesting itself in the body. I saw a therapist in Toronto about 20+ years ago who was ahead of the curve in this branch of diagnosis and treatment so I've been paying attention to it ever since. It's good to see awareness in these particular methods of treatment proliferate and draw attention to the fact that our body and mind has all the answers to sustainable health and that pharmacies and OR's are not the only way.

    Hiya, found your videos two days ago on total accident. I did the 4 free exercises for those two days and all of a sudden my bite closed fully for the first time in my life, I could feel my neck tension relaxing (I didn’t even know it was tense!) and I started to feel my back left rib cage’s mobility when walking. I just got fitted with glasses yesterday and my new shoes are on the way, as well. I am so excited for this new journey to be free of back pain, but I know my feet have issues so I am trying to figure that out, as well. Thank you for all you’re time and effort and allowing me to experience my body in a whole new way.

    I work in a kitchen, and music is sacred there. We can't quite put into words why it's important. It's more than amusement, morale support, or something to quicken the sense of time.
    We cook on beat. If you listen close, you'll hear bowls and plates hitting surfaces right on rhythm. People drumming the gunk off their tongs and spoons. You can get some nice triplets while stirring up a square 1/6 insert with a steel ladle. There's almost a Four Humors thing going on, where "hot" / "chill" or "light" / "heavy" music is a discussed idea. When we get surprised by a large walk-in we might go from "Just Piano" by FKJ to "Tick Tick Boom" by the Hives.
    The idea that it's also critical for our biomechanics is fascinating. The kitchen looks like that Hole In The Wall game, mixed with Twister, plus fireballs and knives, on slippery floors. You get keenly aware of the importance of your stabilizer muscles. But I love the idea that playing music keeps the muscles running optimally. Can't wait to share this with my coworkers.
    The DJ almost has a managerial role. And if the real manager makes the mistake of turning the music completely off, just because someone was too timid to raise their voice and be heard, that manager becomes everyone's enemy. How do you get someone to stand next to 350 degree machines, blasting columns of greasy steam in your face, under 3 layers of polyester, in a dim smoky cave for 10 hours, for minimum wage? _You keep the music on._

    Hi Neal, I am coming back to thank you once again (I was asking you for info regarding polish physios who have PRT training in your other video) - turns out, I didn't had to visit any of them, I just recently discovered how to properly do left ZOA - I thought I am doing it right, but I didn't feel any effects of it. Turns out I was wrong, did it couple of times correctly and I could feel my left diaphragm pulling my ribcage to the left (it was all about proper breathing into posterior ribcage on the left) and I could feel right psoas, QL and abdominals finally getting proper relaxation. Many many thanks :)

    You've shown clearly that simply perceiving generates automatic reactions within us, in real time. As Alan Watts would point out, where do you draw the line between an organism and its environment? The discussion on communication, language and breath... all the great books and references to sound and vibration, music and rhythm... you are bringing these all together in a simple yet profound way, and using the body to prove the principles.       Like the shape of the screen we are watching it's a way for us to think about viewing externally and internally. When conceptualizing about any part of the body there is a left right front rear and center. We can not have direction without center.

      I have heard of Allen Watts listened to some of his words on boob tube. I have no doubt he has great insights. I could not get past his monotone voice. Which for many I'm sure helps them focus. I want to sleep. Never heard of Joseph Campbell. I guess I have some home work

    I love the visual effects of that model your holding! and it helped so much when you turned it around so it matched my right side/left side as the viewer! When it is held like that I can concentrate so much more on what you are explaining rather than listening to my internal thoughts of “so is that my left… or right.. or forward” 😂😅

    Brilliant.
    Have you noticed any correlation to driving position (right leg on accelerator extended for long periods of time) manual - where left leg activates clutch vs automatic vehicle - where left leg is stationary.
    Flexors and Psoas awareness peripheral at best, when concentrating on driving.

    I watched this video 3 times. After watching it the first time, I made a music play list and listened as I did my daily chores. I found it amazing how much it reduced the pain in my hips and lower body by improving my gait. Thank you! ❤

      I often say, "Music moves a body." ❤
      It has been observed in patients with Parkinsons and/or dementia that their favorite music, whether by listening or dancing, will bring back physical and mental functions, even if temporarily.
      My M-I-L lives in constant pain. She walks, or rather "thumps across the floor," bent over and without rhythm. However, put some of her favorite music on, and she can move her body more easily.
      Myself: I took bellydance classes to improve my core strength, and ended up loving bellydance music. Ten years later, I am still taking classes, and I have very firm abs, stronger legs, and better balance. ❤ To keep myself motivated during boring chores, I listen and "bop" to bellydance music. On occasion, after a couple hours of dancing, I experience "runner's high."
      Now, excuse me while I go cue up some tunes so I can start doing some chores today. 💃

    Neal, 30 yrs, last 15 with pain pump & after releasing both my Psoas which was likely injured 30 yrs ago in car accident I saw coming as a passenger with arms out sunroof. So that torsion did a number. These videos have helped immensely!

    I’m so happy that one of your videos popped up, and that I even decided to watch it. I tried your little trick with the chair and the towel between the legs while just breathing. I have the left hip pain and instability and the right low back problem.I am a professional Base Jumper and my body is pretty beat up. I am trying to do everything I can to tune my body back into a healthy state. The things you are talking about are fascinating. It makes so much sense. I wish I could come see you. Are used to go to school in Lincoln Nebraska, but now I am in Idaho. anyways, thanks for your videos.

    Yes, there’s a big difference between the arts for fun (inspired from within) and arts being taught as a set of rules and critiques. So be aware, it’s not just dance or art - it’s free dance and free art Ie what you like intuitively. So it’s important to balance free creativity with the discipline and critique of leaning too. Love your videos currently working on my mothers posture - she’s finally accepted some help and you videos mirror my work and findings from muscle response test and posture / moving / observation - so it’s been nice to have another add to the verification and remind me why there are the holistic connections and not get too bio mechanical. I usually work from the thoughts/ emotional but we have a strained relationship so I need to keep it functional. Lol . Cheers

      Great points. My favourite dance is the basically free dance of 5 rhythms ...wow can that get me into the zone. And indeed when I teach the arts I always have play at the ready or balance a lesson with some instruction and then do whatever pleases you.

    I noticed that when I'm walking or cycling and I can see another person doing the same activity in front of me, I immediately feel like I'm in better alignment. That means to me seeing the human body move is neural feedback which can inhibit and activate muscles.

      yes!!! pretty much the only time I can get my body to feel properly aligned is if I visualise someone I've seen walking in proper alignment

    Hey Neal! I really love this subject. I first watched this video a few days ago and I just had a mini revelation that when I lay down quite often I cross my feet. Once I started paying attention to this I always put the left foot on top which does seem to tip the left hip forward even more. This is to the point that it is actually slightly uncomfortable to put the right foot on top with crossed feet. Figure this is similar to your idea of putting more weight on the left side while standing to help release tightness.

    I came across your video last night and am so thrilled to learn what has been causing me so much pain for the past 10 years. I have tried everything; chiropractor after chiropractor, primary care, acupuncture, physical therapy, thousands of dollars spent on devices and support and nothing has helped. My complaint all along has been pain in my muscles where they insert from my head to my toe but ONLY on my left side. I've had 4 left knee surgeries from when I was 15 through 40 and the last one said I needed it replaced. My left hip is in constant pain. My ribs hurt all the time. My collar bone hurts. My jaw and teeth on the left side don't hurt, but there is constant pressure and when I release a muscle I can feel it in my gums. It's the strangest sensation to explain. My neck, shoulder, pelvis, back, all the way to my foot hurts. My left abs are all knotted and painful. I broke my left foot about 10 years ago and it hurts to walk on it. I tore my left Achilles tendon last summer and re-tore it about a month ago. I broke my T12 in October from pushing a box. I am only 55 and feel 90. When I started listening to your video last night, my eyes got wide. Everything you said made sense. I cannot stretch that leg, it doesn't move certain ways and now I can tell it's rotated. I don't know where to start. I know I need to strengthen my left leg but need my hip in the right place first. My eyes aren't great so it makes sense that my brain is compensating for all of the lack from my eyes to old injuries. I have subscribed and going to watch your videos. If you have a suggestion on where I should start, I would gladly welcome it. This is the best news I've had in a decade. Thanks Neal!

    This is all very interesting, especially about the mind relaxing. Not an advocate for the use of psychedelics, but I did take some mushrooms in Costa Rica once and went to a festival, and was able to pop/crack my right middle finger knuckle for the first time in maybe 5+ years. I guess my mind was in such a relaxed state. This was a knuckle I was trying to crack for 5 years and I couldn’t ever really push bc it would hurt (probably due to an injury that never got checked bc I’m pretty tolerant to pain). Finally I was able to push down for the first time and not feel pain and it popped. And now it’s back to normal. I know it sounds really dumb but it was a bit life changing for me at the time, I felt like something that was physically wrong with me got fixed.

    Up early watching this. So fascinating. I leaned on the corner of an armoire (the only thing near me) to mimic a hand on my left upper back, put weight on my left and held the dance position. I felt the shift immediately.
    My left side of my back is always itchy btw. I’ve suspected it’s a blood flow issue so this explained a lot. Definitely keeping this in mind throughout the day.

    Hi, Neal! Thanks for sharing all you know! I just discovered your channel yesterday and it's what I been looking for for a long time. I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 18, now I'm 32 and they told that I'd never be able to heal. That's about to see yet. I've been spending the last few years paying a lot of attention to my body, and I discovered many things, muscular tension, bad tongue position, bad swallowing pattern. I'm working on everything I can haha. What caught my attention the most about your videos is this thing about the right preference of the body, I think my body is twisted to the right and I remember trying to correct that for many years just trying to change the way I do my domestic chores and even gotten to think that my house was designed for me to opt for always going to the right hahaha. I started writing with my left hand two years ago and trying to do everything I do with the right part of my body also with the left, like whisking when cooking or rolling my hips while I dance. I'll continue and add the exercises you propose in your channel. Thanks for enlightening the world.
