- This movie shows how powerful are sub-aquatic activities feelings & emotions.
Through out a neoprene wing suit called "Oceanwings", the analogy between aerial and aquatic flight illustrates this intense tridimentionnal feeling met by the underwater Humans.

An what exactly is he doing that he cant do with without the suit?
Yeah Im with you bro
chris nonya Why do we like batman movies better than Superman movies? They're cooler!
I thought he was going to flap like a ray
The suit he is wearing is a winged wetsuit. Wetsuits are designed to help keep you warm underwater and thus helps prevent hypothermia [you'd be surprised how cold it gets once you have been underwater for a few minutes]. The wings on the suit are there to provide glide, this helps to cover more distance with minimal effort and also enhances the experience.
The point of these suits in flight is to increase air resistance to make you fall slower and give you more control over your decent.
People don't tend to do much falling underwater.
Yup. You got to see the vid about the guy who free dove into a deep hole at the bottom of the sea... That was AWESOME.
Thanks!
Even more interesting with the underwater gliding for extra propulsion just like a manta ray.
i think this is awesome
Eita fôlego da peste
I think this is exactly the same than Base jumping from a cliff !
You trust into your parachute to get back safely.
No need to swim with such system...
Must be cool extreme experience !!
you clearly still need to swim, they're just not showing it
Great questions.
Interesting!
How doesn't he get pressure sickness ascending that quick?
because he's not breathing.
The dolphin fins or "mermaid tails", as they are sometimes called, actually provide more thrust with less movement. But it can cause exhaustion because it uses more energy to actually kick [due to increased drag].
oh cool, thanks
Du Wingsuit sous l'eau ! pas mal :D
imagine to use the water jet boots (it's already invented) with the suit, it would be perfect
@1:40 Looks like a great way to get the bends!
All I can think about is that awesome camera man!
because the camera man is able to...dive?
Very creative and beautiful images.
But he must have been breathing off scuba between flights - it would be very difficult to swim to the surface from those depths with no fins, and the suit would restrict the breaststroke arm stroke.
It would also be only so great for those of us able to equalize hands free.
But very fun video and idea.
Oh cool someone decided to make the Flying Squirrel suit from Super Mario Bros. U.
Freediving: Freediving is any of various aquatic activities that share the practice of breath-hold underwater diving.
Basically: Swim and hold your breath.
Added clips collection .
If You will make none interupted video from submersion till dive end, then I will put a value for it.
good choice of soundtrack, very appropriate to the video description
the movements instead seem very slow to me et not much dynamic
it is safe so long as you haven't inhaled compressed air while you were down there. he took his only breath at the surface so he should be fine.
It's interesting. However the only mobility is being demonstrated after a jump. We don't get to see how the suit helps you move through water from a stationary position.
Vaya por Dios, esto lo hago yo en el agua con la Batamanta!
Yes, I have. I'm certified by PADI too. I SCUBA dived for 12 years, before my health deteriorated, from Arthritis and I had to sell my gear... DAMN that choice...
I've always wanted to feel like a manta ray.
La canción de fondo se llama Bad wings de Glitch Mob para los interesados.
Similar to Jeb Corliss' phenomenal wingsuit videos... sans the speed and flight time. Major questions after seeing only downward glide of a freediver in a neoprene suit with no propulsive movements: does flapping or undulating effect forward movement? Was footage of this excised because it looked silly? How much weight was packed to counter the neoprene AND add enough negative buoyancy to sink quickly? Mr. Frolla's breath-hold capacity? Dive times? Number of dives to make this video?
That they are... That they are...
Needs a propulsion system. Otherwise this is just a webbed suit
I concur, this does not create the sensation of flying
This is like that underwater wheelchair
Oh, it's one of those invents...
Would really liked to have seen evidence of the diver venting during the ascent... and is it really that safe to rise to the surface that quick?
When will they go on sale? Brilliatn idea! I want one!
isnt that how you get the bends shooting to the top like that
It might be, But you didn't add the whole url... I can't get what's there to work.
What song is this? Amazing!
he almost hit a cliff and died at 0:59 crazy!
Mind boggling how little people know of underwater currents. You don't NEED propulsion, not anymore than you would in the air. A gliding plane can stay up in the air for hours without any propulsion, why would it be different under water?
すごい
Where's he getting his propulsion? Is he just wearing a heavy diving belt or...
Mushimushwar provides the answer to propulsion, but as for breathing:
Dude, in free diving you don't have an air supply. You hold your breath and swim.
thing is if u actually got some sorta propulsion, all you'll need is a regular suit...
I wonder if wave like movements of the body (like with the large connected "dolphin-" fins you occasionally see) wouldn't be very effective for propulsing the body forward, at least comparable to normal fins..
mmm... how swim with the arms attached to this thing?
New Manta Ray species discovered!
- Seems pretty interesting. But compared to fins, how fast can you swim? Or is it more of a gliding thing?
This would be when scuba diving but... He isn't! He's freediving.
what if a giant male manta ray is looking for a mate?
so, it's a suit that lets you sink faster?
Interesting, but do you REALLY need the suit to do that ?
Gravity and next to no friction did all that, eh? I bet there were lots of dives to get that footage...
It's fun, only fun, who really want ti buy that thing
haters gonna hate...whens the last time you went diving in a flight suit?
If I can recall my master Scuba diver lessons right, you only get the bends when you ascend too quick while SCUBADIVING due to the nitrogen bubbles formed in your bloodstream (only when you breathe underpressure air). However, i reckon free divers are exposed to lung overexpansion injuries IF it remains a bit of air in their lungs while quickly ascending. Can some expert confirm that info?
Free divers do not suffer from any lung overexpansion injuries.
The air in your lungs you start the dive with compress as you go down, when you go back up it expands. it cannot expand more than the original volume.
The only risk to free divers is called 'Shallow water blackout' and it occurs when you've been porpoising up and down holding your breath... The first ten meters of the sea is the most dangerous for divers, it's where the volume of gases in your body halves from 100% to 50%, each ten further meters in addition means from 50% to 25% etc so the biggest volume change happens in the first ten meters.. When you dive down and 'push your breathe' for as long as you can then you come to the surface, you can black out a couple of meters shy of the surface and if still negatively buoyant you'll sink away and drown... it's happened to me, always free dive with friends;)
Master scuba diver swag
neoprene is boyount as are we to a point so he must be weighted...... How much is he weighted is my question and where is the weights?
Like a See Doo Scooter.
if free divers didn't look like shark food before, they sure do now!
yo me quedo con Pierre Frolla, sin el traje... ;)!!
lleva una pinza de nariz debajo de la mascara, es lo mismo que hacen los apneistas que usan monoaleta o los que hacen apnea en trineo
What's the meaning of "55555555"? Is that cost of swimming suit?
He's freediving, not breathing compressed air.
All I see is the white watch.
if they are not the one who thought of the wingsuit, then I don't see anything different, the design is very similar and the other glides on air and is very fast (much more dangerous)
i think it's all about the suit lol
Wow! Good for diving. Give me One. 555555555
Yes there are...hold for it...currents underwater.
Would be fun until you are mistaken for a Tuna and a Great White shark tears you in half.
I can't see this selling...
Lots of video of gliding, none of him kicking or whatever to actually propel himself. Is it so awkward that they are afraid to show it?
Wonder if a shark can digest this material?
Aqua Priest...
The diver is Pierre Frolla, a triple world’s recordman in free immersion (unassisted descent and ascent.... don't try this at home ^_^).
The Subaquatic Wingsuit is not a product prototype of any sort.
Whether a wingsuit makes sense underwater is not the point.
This video is to be understood as visual art to convey an emotional message from the "sea-going folks" out to the unknowing "terrestrian population": "underwater, you can fly !". The idea was to use the Wingsuit as it is now associated with the dream of "aerial flight" by many people, so it was transposed to the concept of "aquatic flight".
Noone needs a wingsuit to fly underwater. Take a pair of fins, that's all you need. (or a monofin if you want Power). Use a regulator if you want stay longer.
Most important: DIVE, if you don't want to miss out on one of the most fantastic experiences life has to offer !
In Thai the number "5" is pronounced "Ha" so in the internet world the expression of laughing is usually made by writing 555555555. Hope this helps.
Does every video have to include dubstep? This might have been peaceful to watch if it didn't have robots taking a dump on the beat.
Doesn't seem very fast...
O vídeo é legal, mas peca em pequenos detalhes da montagem...
Do you like the idea of wing-suiting but still value your life? Billy Mays here, and we have a product for you!
Swiming???, Nieeeet, i flying underwater...
how is he breathing, without oxygen?
Joe foti because he has someone there with an extra tank and after every time the video cuts he takes a breath from the tank hes not flying and theres nothing special about this suit
Came here for The Glitch Mob.
......COME AT ME BRO?!
get a pair of flippers and he will be moving faster and have more control.
Wait, what?
Эстонский Вингсьют!
isn't that just sinking?
And if the baloon doesn't work, bye bye!
What you call "underwater flying," I call diving.
1:56 francesco totti
Yeah. The new RUclips just sucks that way, doesn't it? Anyhoo, Try looking up Guilliame Nery... That ought to take you there...
seems super slow to me
Look it is a sinking Nun.
i just googles "what eats manta rays " 😅 large sharks and killer whales, or orcas.
this music is way to intense for whats actually happening...
I AM THE WIZARD OF THE DEEEEEEP!!!!!!
hahha
looks like the grim reaper!
inventing hot water -.-
I'll say... Free diving is pretty hot... I wanna do it sooo badly...
