Fun fact: when I was a child my goldfish died. I literally tried to do CPR on it by pressing it's side gently with my finger in attempt to resuscitate him while crying. Edit: before you ask I was 7 years old at the time.
I just read an article about the worst excuses British people have given for failing to file their tax returns, and one of them was a guy who said he was too upset to do it because his goldfish died!
In some countries, I think in England as well, you get to take a day off for grieving if your pet dies (in some the amounts you can take in a year are restricted to a maximum number to avoid abusing it or creating situation where people abuse and kill their pets covertly to get days off)

I especially relate to the rabbit part. We used to have two pet rabbits a boy and a girl and she gave birth to a large amount rabbits and they all loved being outside. One day though the mother had wandered to the front of the house and was on the road and sadly got run over by some damn fool speeding (it's not even a really public road no less that many people use). It hurt me so much when it happened and her children whole they didn't see it happen they did see us bury her, and when we finished they all spent some time near where she was buried. I like to imagine they secretly were saying goodbye to her.

It's hilarious, because even if the fish were somehow still alive and really just sleeping, he's certainly dead now underneath that mountain of fish flakes. XD
Boy some of these moments are just emotionally brutal. This scene, peter after his prostate "you're someones father!" Scene, stewie and rupert in the bathtub after new brian reveals his assault on rupert. "you'll talk about it when you want to", and strawberry peter getting violated by mr. Worm. "He was my neighbor!" And many others. Family guy isnt like that anymore.
Peter: (voice breaking, while pouring the fish food into the bowl) Here you go, Lieutenant Shiny Sides. It's okay, you don't have to eat it now. You're just sleeping. You'll eat it later. YOU'LL EAT IT LATER, LIEUTENANT SHINY SIDES! (wails)
I watched this video because all 3 of my fish died and I have no idea why, I kept thinking of that scene when I poked them so see if they were dead or just sleeping while floating upside down
