      I wish it were that diverse. Those strong minnesotan accents have been in decline for decades, you have to go to rural small towns to find minnesotan accents that strong. The minnesotan accents that are in the big cities are very watered down in comparison.

    I remember this hayseed kid from Minnesota when I was in college on the East Coast in the 80s... telling a group of us a story (jeeze, do they EVER shut up?) about putting a new speaker box in his Camaro (like we cared). A Rhode Islander quipped, "Speaker backs in yerr CaMERRO? What about speaker fronts?" The kid just gazed in confusion. Not a clue. God, they even SING with that accent. Ever heard a Chicagoan belt out Toto's "Africa" in a karaoke bar? It's a real feast for the ears...

    The accent is so spot on its not even funny. But the Michigan accent is worse because we say stuff like water as wadder. We also have weird names for stuff "Hi-Low" is a forklift. "Chuke" is a beanie. "Door wall" sliding glass door.

    As a Minnesotan this was funny, most people I know don’t sound like that but I’ve met some of us who do, I love the Midwest sound and it’s always so funny when shows do the Minnesotan accent even if most of us at least where I live don’t actually have one

      You got the accent, we all do, but most of us in the twin cities especially don’t have as thick of an accent, likely from being around people from other states/countries to kind of neutralize our accents.

      This nasal northern accent goes further east than you think. I've heard it in radio ads around Rochester and Buffalo in western New York State, and I had a diner waitress in Cleveland that had it, though it is strangely absent in Erie, PA.
