Unlike other characters in Family Guy, Stewie’s character has been absurd since the beginning so that’s why he has adapted so well to drastic change. He’s an American evil, mother killing baby with an English accent. Him having gay tendencies is just a slight change in the whole picture.
Stewie is definitely my favourite character in the show he says what we are all thinking and manages to get away with it cause he is a baby 🍼🍼 I just love Seth's performing as him he never fails to get a laugh 🤣😂 out of me
I like the episodes best where they emphasize Stewie's point of view of the world, misinterpreting things with "baby glasses", and being an expert in combat and warfare Gay Stewie is also funny but the joke doesn't open itself up to as many action-packed plots as Inventor and Assassin Stewie

Personally I like how Stewie changed over the years. I think now he is more relatable. But he is also unique.
