Shake Shack vs In-n-Out | Food Wars | Insider Food
You know they posted this intentionaly so we have something to fight over during christmas 😂😂
Facts merry Christmas 😊
@@LandoLegendYT you too my friend!
Guys don't try this shake shack if you're pregnant you're sure to have a miscarriage from all the fireworks 😂
Exactly 🎉
Shake Shack is the best but in n out is waaay cheaper & I never order fries from anywhere so In N outs fries don't matter to me anyway
What a concept! You could do McDonald's vs Burger King, Pizza Hut vs Dominoes, KFC vs Chick-Fil-A and more.
KFC vs Popeyes would make more sense, wouldn’t it?
@@rffriceyeah
@@rffricechickfila vs popeyes. No one eats kfc
@@GroovydawgJ Except Chik-Fil-A doesn't serve bone-in chicken.
Popeyes vs. Bojangles would be the more appropriate comparison, IMHO.
I'd like to see Jack in the Box vs. Errrbody
I wanna see a food wars episode between America vs Australia.
Burger King vs Hungry Jacks
@@RoscoeDingo McDonald's vs Macca's
Aussie burgers vs American burgers.
Bring on the beetroot!
There is no comparison between In N Out's minimalist menu and Shake Shake's comprehensive one. Both are great for what they are.
Considering In-N-Out is originally from CA, and Shake Shack is from NY, this should be an interesting West Coast/East Coast rivalry 😆
Love the new concept! I think you guys should rate each category, like burgers, chicken sandwiches, drinks, etc. and each can be assigned a # out of how many categories there are. There should also be categories to check off with each individual group so harry has some structure and it also ads some objectivity! :) Look forward to watching more of these soon!
Shake shack is like 2x the price
Yeah, but you get better quality.
@@avgjoeavglife questionable lol NYC needs In-n-Out ASAP
@@Otter-Destruction NYC needs Culver's
@@avgjoeavglife Yeah that and a Whataburger. Just reduce the amount of McD and BKs we have in the city.
@avgjoeavglife those cheese curds are phenomenal
I don't get the constant comparisons. Shake Shack is twice the price as InNOut. It's fast food vs fast casual..like Taco bell vs Chipotle
Negative ghostwriter. Both are fast food. They’re just better quality.
Shake shack is just more expensive fast food. They’re both high quality.
I have both where I live in Sacramento. Quality for both is comparable. Shake Shack wins in terms of variety of things on their menu and ease of ordering (online/app and touchscreens at the restaurant). Fries definitely better. But In-N-Out wins in terms of value. Prices comparable to McDonalds but a much better burger. Shake Shack is a wallet-buster akin to Five Guys.
yeah they really should've weighted the value points more. you can get double the amount of food at In-n-out compared to shake shack for the same $$$...
Cost between is nuts.
I'm not a fan of shake shack. I liked in and oiut when I visited the one in Davis, but the shake shacks I've been to are too similar to 5 guys, and too pricey for what they are.
Five guys Vs shake shack would have been fairer
@@jeffmace714 living in the U.K. I’ve only ever been to a Shake Shack. I liked the burgers and fries but it’s very expensive if you compare it to Burger King or McDonald’s.
I feel like you haven't been to mcdonald's lately. A chicken nugget combo meal for my 9th grader is $13+. Five guys is in a whole other category. Won't even go there. A bacon cheeseburger (just the burger) is $14. At that price, you can go to Islands and go a "step up" from fast food altogether. Let's recap:
(Prices are for double cheeseburgers, except Island's which is a "Hawaiian": a half-pound burger with bacon, cheese, pineapple, lettuce tomato onion, mayo and teriyaki sauce):
In-n-Out: $4.90
McDonald's: $5.09
Shake Shack: $11.59
Five Guys: $14
Islands: $18
This episode is like a GMM episode but they expanded on it. Very cool.
The amount of relevant information shared in this format was awesome and entertaining! I have worked around the corner from the original MSP SS location for almost 12 years so I’m obviously bias, but having also had plenty of In and Out in my travels I’d choose Shake Shack every time. That said, a double double animal style will always put a smile on my face. Just not the fries, they are an abomination.
Also hot take, Five Guys smoke both of these chains in both burgers and especial fries categories 😉
Animal style is mustard fried patties, pickles, extra spread, and grilled chopped onions. You can customize the onions. You can get raw onions or whole onions grilled or raw, but the default is grilled chopped onions.
Thank you for saying this. I couldn’t believe he just brushed it off as pickles and diced onions. Like, in n out has such a small menu. He couldn’t be bothered to look it up prior to shooting? Tbh, he should be ashamed of ordering a cheese burger and not having it animal style anyway (kidding)
Ranch and Fries are a thing. Surprised she never heard of it. Fries and mayo, too. Also, fries and ice cream.
Never heard of fries and ranch. Mayo and ketchup, yes. Sounds weird. But to each their own. I do ketchup and malt vinegar. 🤷
I was surprised too 🤣. I have been dipping fries and ranch since I was a kid.
Fries and bbq sauce
Weirdos
Fries and tarter sauce.
I'd like to see a Canada vs America Food Wars. Especially with A&W.
Me too McDonald's as well.
As a Canuck, I recently tried American Kraft mac and cheese and have to admit that is was a little better than Kraft Dinner. I was shocked and aghast. Our A&W wins by a mile(or kilometer).
I’m jealous of all the food options the states has compared to Canada. In my province I have even less options since it’s Newfoundland and we can’t even get a Taco Bell 🥲
@gnoghead just make mac and cheese with real cheese? It's super easy.
The chicken nuggets are amazing at Shake Shack! The only downside is that if you get even two burgers (or a burger and nuggets) with 2 fries and shakes, it’ll cost you over $40!!!
Much higher quality beef at Shake Shack though. You get what you pay for.
Team shake shack! I've had both too
Fries with ranch is a west coast thing. In Portland Oregon "tots with ranch" was the craze thru the early 2000s. Don't knock it til u tried it!
At my middle school we had a nacho cheese machine you could use yourself, everyone would pour the nacho cheese over tater tots. It was sooo good!
This is a great idea! any content from Joe and Harry is great content but Nico is great for a change of pace
I disagree. She doesn't seem to have much experience with food. I mean she's never had a milkshake with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup??
18:41 well someone was sleeping on the job if they accidentally called In N Out Shakeshack rofl 🤣
Just wanna go on record and say the Shake Shack in Tampa, Fl is dog water. I’m sure it’s great everywhere else bc people literally suck it, but this shit is always undercooked and eh. If anyone is reading this, send help.
You really gonna release day on christmas eve so we have food wwars over whole Christmas? 😂
Are you gonna do this with Jack In The Box and Whataburger? Or Jollibee and Raising Cane’s?
In N Out just changed their drink menu this week. They added Cherry Coke & Lite Pink Lemonade.
I need to reserve judgment until i get out to L.A. and go to In-N-Out to try their fare. I do enjoy Shake Shack!
Disclaimer. I am from California currently living in the UK. Comparing Shake Shack and In n Out is an unfair comparison. They're not equivalent. For a more apples to apples comparison do In n Out vs. Five Guys. Their menus are much more similar.
Penalising In n Out for not having more burger/non-burger options when in nearly 50 years they never have is unfair.
This makes me want to try out Shake Shack, considering that a location just opened up at a shopping center not far away from my area
It’s worth trying one time for sure. Just expect to pay a hefty price for a meal. Really over priced in my opinion but, it was really good.
In-N-Out is the best for value by far.
Miles ahead of the comparison
Shake Shack and In-N-Out a are like sibling rivalry. That will continue to go at eachother for years to come
Isn’t that like puma vs Adidas or was it under armor
Puma and addidas @@summer7945
I hope Shake Shake can hold up for the next 50+ years, but that’s not how most things tend to go. In-N-Out has been making the same excellent burger for 76 years. It’s og af. Shake Shack is only 22 years old. It’s an overpriced 21st century burger joint. But It’s at least as good, for now.
in-n-out shakes have always been too thick too but love the green striped design to show contrast from the original red drink cup
Hi, I so wished that the UK still had Rootbeer i love Rootbeer ❤️ we can get it from the States but that's expensive. When I first moved to Milton Keynes Macdonald had it with their Coke cola, Pepsi. But after I was here Macdonald stopped. It on the menu.
I don't understand why Shake Shack and In And Out don't have Banana milkshakes? . Definitely delicious
Rookie mistake when it came to the fries from In-n-Out. You need to ask for their fries to be well done. It makes a huge difference.
Shake shack clears everytime! In N Out just has better prices
Ohhh liked this "fast food versus" sketch! Harry might’ve forgotten to announce the winner because all of the burgers. 🍔 👏 😅
very professionally made
At 18:49 Joe's description of In n Out burger's sodium is mislabeled for Shackburger
Never had in n out and just had shake shack last weekend at the last Vegas airport and man I been missing out! Shack stack is amazing! Being from the Midwest I think I might even like shake shack more than Culver’s but those 2 are top right now. Just need to try in n out now
When you listed Calories for the In-N-Out burger, you listed the Shake Shack burger instead. Thank you, however, for showing what us Californian's love most about In-N-Out - which is how ridiculously cheap their foods are. It seems disingenuous to compare a place that has only four things on their food menu - a hamburger, cheeseburger, fries, and a double cheeseburger - against someplace with vegetarian patties, chicken sandwiches, mushroom burgers, etc. etc. But In-N-Out is greatly loved for their fresh flavors and simple menu, plus the very low prices.
Amazing food concept need to know
From what I can tell, In-n-Out's fries suck mostly because they don't soak the potatoes to get some of the starch out and just cut them fresh and fry them immediately.
That's what makes them good. Get them well done. Eat them before they've sat on a table for three hours. And if there isn't enough salt, add some. It's free.
Ask for them “well done.” This is the most important thing to know about in-n-out imo.
Shake Shack burger is flat out tastier. But In n Out is flat out better pricing.
We Idahoans also just got a location and the lines were 8 hours but had died down to 2 hours
Taste matters. In-n-out ❤
No In N Out in London...the British ref is void
What are you talking about Ranch goes with everything. It’s like the official sauce of America.
Apt because its awful
@@yourmum955 no ranch is the best
Buttermilk ranch, to be specific. It is our peoples’ sauce 😅
The Habit would have been a better one to put up against Shake Shack, nothing against In N Out, I absolutely love In N Out, but The Habit is more of a Shake Shack type place. I'm guessing it's because California is more known for In N Out
Though I am an in n out fan, The Habit is very underrated. They are my number two and, at least where I am, they are always consistently quality.
Forgot to mention shake shack sells beer / wines lol. At least they do in my area haha
In n out always wins. Can go to both in my area. Can't beat the price points. Consistently you see masses at one (with traffic issues) and often less crowds at the other. The people have spoken. Probably go to Shake Shack 20x less due to price and hours alone.
That fact that you are comparing these places as equals when In-N-Out is half the price tells me that In-N-Out is the obvious winner.
In-n-Out has just opened the first Idaho location (Meridian, ID) a few weeks ago. They are also going to open 2 more, Boise and Nampa. When the Meridian location opened there were so many people waiting that it was taking about 8 hours just in the drive thru.
I'VE BEEN AWAITING FOR THIS......I WORKED AT IN & OUT FOR 6 YEARS
I love In-N-Out Burger, but I would love to try Shake Shack so I can compare for myself. Sadly, no Shake Shack near me, but I hope one day I can.
Personally I’m Shake Shack > In n Out, but to be fair I’m not a meat eater (but even when I was, In N out felt limited)
I quite like them both. SS for variety but I think In N Out's burger tastes better and is like half the price.
Light well fries are the best way to get fries at In-N-Out
This rating system is bullshit lol, in-n-out is far beyond worth more for you money and the basic burger is more delicious, PERIODT
Don't you think taste-testing cold food, that has been sitting out on a table in a studio, is a bit...wrong?
You used to be able to order as many patties and cheese as you want at in n out. They stopped doing that after someone ordered a 100x100 at the spot i worked at xD
As a European, the concept of a 'secret menu' just seems like the most stupid thing ever. Like, you're not actually willing to sell your most interesting and best tasting products unless someone finds out about them from the internet or something? Just for that reason alone, In-n-Out might as well not exist and any hype they get is completely undeserved because the items on the actual menu basically suck.
Don't go by this channel. The regular menu items are good. The secret menu exists because it's been around a long time and regulars got creative, and the restaurant has a sense of humor.
Nah, it's not just about this channel. There are dozens of testimonials online that corroborate this point of view, as well as a few from people I know. Besides, stashing items you regularly make on a 'secret menu' is basically avoiding being sanctioned from US food inspectors in case something goes wrong, since you can't really fine someone for the quality of food that they don't 'officially' sell.
@@MrScoot27 Yes you can. Food inspectors check whether something is safe. They couldn't care less whether it fits anyone's expectations for taste. They don't care at all about secret menus. They'd only care if a place had secret ingredients.
The shack fresh cuts were delicious and would’ve been the only reason I came back. Not sure why people preferred the crinkle over it 🤷🏻♀️ local joints are way better than these chains. If the fries are trash, I wouldn’t trust the rest of the items on the menu.
“Our independent referee, who should be Harry…”
*Harry pops onscreen*
“Wow! John’s back!”
No competition.. In and out is better. More option don't mean they are better options. The animal fries are good.
😢 in n out used to have THE BEST FRY (besides McD's🍟) they slam the 🥔 into Fry's fresh as they go YOU 🧂 YOUR SELF some people don't like 🧂
In and out needs to open some NYC locations for me to believe the hype.
It'll be a while. They have high standards for quality, so they need to be able to build enough stores to justify a distribution hub that can get them produce fresh every day. The slow traffic and high rent in NYC makes that kind of logistics difficult.
No, the secret to in-n-out is that every location is owed and operated by the Snyder Family. They’ve been serving the same excellent burger for 76 years. It’s og af; they literally invented the drive-through. Every location is still clean and smells good. Odds are, Shake Shack will not be any good in a generation or two
I just had a Shake Shack burger for lunch. I usually go to In-N-Out Burger, but decided I'd try Shake Shack to see how it compared to In-N-Out burger. I usually order a Double-Double w'grilled onions at In-N-Out Burger and it costs $6.23 out the door. The Shake Shack burger,(single), cost me $8.04 out the door. I didn't want to pay over $10 to get a double burger. It didn't compare well to the Double Double. It was kind of wimpy and I was still hungry arferwards. That doesn't happen with a Double Double. A double at Shake Shack would have filleed me up more, but it would also cost a lot more. Also the taste, although good, didn't come close to the great taste of a Double Double, with all the fresh lettuce, etc. on it. The Shake Shack burger had a single leaf of soggy lettuce on it that I didn't even know was there until I looked under the bun.
So, for me, In-N-Out Double Double was not only substantially cheaper than the Shack burger, it was much more of a meal, and it tasted better to me. Sorry Shake Shack, you lose on several points, price, taste, portion size. I can't justify ever going to Shake Shack over In-N-Out.
I prefer Whataburger.
I love that Harry is the official 😂😂😂
3x2 toasted bun, mustard grilled patties, grilled onions, chopped chilis and pickles is undefeated.
Shake shack
Price wise, In N Out Wins
Shake shack is amazing! Their fries are wonderful.
Nice. You're going to love middle school.
@@blairhoughton7918 I’m not sure what that even means. 😆😆 Happy holidays! ☃️
@@sandy5791 It means their fries taste like cafeteria food and once you've gotten past your kids'-menu phase you'll understand.
Merry Christmas.
Shake Shack is more expensive but definitely tastes better!
Still hoping Shake Shack brings back Shacktoberfest. That Shacktoberfest burger was awesome!
Shake shack is good asf but expensive
Thanks so much, easily the best overview of the PiStorm and its history for a mid level tech person
In & Out all day! Very affordable and it actually gets you full! My kids won’t any other fast food burger!
Do this comparison between Shake Shack and Culver's. They both use custard, and have chicken.
Price should be worth 4 points
Merry Christmas to all
23:08 I guess this was recorded before one opened in Idaho
This is actually pretty dumb. To compare the two. A burger fries and shake at In-N-Out cost about $10. The same thing at shake shack approximately $25 plus tip.
The production of this video was lackluster. Unusual
Lost credibility when you added in location options. Either compare like for like or pick different restaurants.
Light well fries from INO
"you can do it" hahaha she is so beautiful. I felt sooo wrong on that moment....
Whataburger vs shake shack next?
Just so you all know, people who suffer from depression and other mental health challenges are particularly hard hit around the holidays. If you know someone who may be suffering please ring them up or pop by and make sure they know they are valued.
450 ML is 15.2 OZ. really screwed the pooch on that one!! Point for In N Out.
Animal style has a mustard fried patty unlike the regular cheeseburger. My friend told me about it when she worked at in n out.
No Flying Dutchman!?
I honestly thought In-N-out wins btw
Dang, it would have been nice to see the flying Dutchman and road kill fries from in-n-out 😢
You all forgot “light fry” fries at In n Out!
Hands down shake shack is the winner. In and out way overrated. They good good prices though for what you get.
America vs New Zealand! Next
The ref is kinda biased. He gave equal points to both sides on the sauce category because, “they’re not the same.” NONE OF THE ITEMS ARE THE SAME, for the most part. Might as well give equal points for everything.
And bear in mind, I’m a bigger fan of Shake Shack.
Exactly lol
The In-n-Out burgers look better.
I’ve had both hands down in out price, and food quality for clean restaurants in out and down I’ve been to several shake shack very dirty
Five Guys over both. ESPECIALLY their fries.
Mass is not quality.
The shake shack small and large looked like they was going be even 😂 wonder why that got edited out
Shake Shack does not use 100% angus beef. Used to work there. They use a chuck, sirloin and brisket blend & Idc about the political views of fast casual food companies. Don't eat there then.
