Cables for Simple Braided Hat

This quick video is intended to provide tech support for my pattern for Simple Braided Hats, available on my website for free! I show you how to use a cable needle to create the braided look of these hats, and I also give a quick demo on the stretchy cast-on method I use for all hats and mittens.
This is a great quick project if you need to make a last-minute gift, and the pattern gives 2 full sets of instructions for 2 slightly different yarns - the beautiful Amelie by Illimani, and if you're looking for a more economical, easy-care choice, the readily available Cascades 100% merino superwash wool. Between these 2 gauges you should be able to adapt the pattern to a wide variety of sport-to-worsted weight wools and blends. Enjoy!
