My Lightning Tutorial videos are meant to be fast. No preamble. I'm not going to tell you what yarn I'm using or remind you to have a pair of scissors handy. I assume you already know how to crochet, have downloaded one of my patterns and need some quick help. I hope these videos will get you back to your project at lightning speed.
The Snail Tutorials are there for you if you have some time on your hands and need to learn the basics of Tunisian crochet. They include some discussion of the materials needed such as hooks and yarn, and they are meant for beginners.

Adorable Tunisian crochet zipper pouches
This video shows you how to make one of these cute zipper pouches from start to finish. You will need a zipper, a tiny pointy crochet hook (ie. 1.5mm), and a 4mm double-ended Tunisian crochet hook (this project is worked in the round!), and 2 balls of sport weight yarn (I recommend subtly contrasting colours). The video is suitable for beginners to Tunisian crochet, but it helps to have some familiarity with Tunisian crochet in the round and honeycomb stitch. Here is a video that will make you an expert in Tunisian honeycomb stitch if you are a complete beginner: ruclips.net/video/OU2Cbn9ivZo/видео.htmlsi=mzoKhEGKXdBDTYZw

Herringbone Stitch: Knit or Crochet?
Просмотров 169Год назад
In the epic battle between knitters and crochet-ers, there can be only one winner. In this video I explore 4 different methods of creating a herringbone fabric, and try to decide which I should use to make a cotton hand towel. Warning: there is a fair bit of whining in this video. It is not meant to be a full tutorial but as long as you have familiarity with knitting and crochet, you should be ...
Jasmine oval placemats: 1st 3 rounds
Просмотров 1 тыс.Год назад
This video is meant to help you get started on my pattern for jasmine stitch oval placemats, available on my website: www.loveapplecrafts.com/product-page/jasmine-stitch-ovals These placemats can also be used as a trivet because they are so thick and dense. Literally any cotton, linen or blend can be used here, but I do recommend sport weight because they work up so thick in worsted. I have mad...
Jasmine stitch hanging basket
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.Год назад
This video demonstrates how to make a classic, teardrop shaped hanging basket using the beautiful jasmine stitch. Because of the thick, stiff fabric created by this stitch, almost any fibre will work, but I do recommend a natural fibre in a worsted weight. For a downloadable pdf that contains the full pattern, as well as yarn suggestions, visit my website: www.loveapplecrafts.com I do explain t...

Jasmine stitch works up thick and sturdy, beautifully suited to placemats, coasters and trivets. If you watch this video, you will end up with an understanding of the basic construction of jasmine stitch in the round, whic...
Jasmine stitch explained
Просмотров 1,4 тыс.Год назад
This video adds to the chorus of videos demonstrating jasmine stitch, but what I hope to bring to the table is a full explanation of how to get tight, neat central holes in your jasmine flowers, without resorting to an ultra-tiny crochet hook. Grab yarn in any fibre and any weight, and a hook around 1mm smaller than recommended for your yarn. No prior familiarity with jasmine stitch is required...

Feathery Placemats

This is an improved, simplified version of my pattern for feather stitch placemats, available on my website. I love this pattern in feathery, lightweight fingering cottons. Examples are given in the video and the pattern. This pattern has been improved in several ways - it is simpler, and makes use of invisible joins to make the edging seamless. Everything you need to know is shown in this vide...

Learn to Tunisian Crochet (and never use a paper napkin again)
You are a great teacher. Thank you for sharing this.
You're so welcome, thank you for your kind words !
I would love to send you some shea butter to repair your hands.
I'm sure the terrible condition of my skin is distracting in these winter videos😅
I finally got it! Suggestion. I hook my middle finger in the final yo before you pull through all the loops to isolate that "pinched" strand. A lot eaiser.
Yes ! I start doing that too when my hand gets tired.
Fantastic, thank you!!!!!!!!! 🙌🙌🙌💗💗
You're so welcome!!🎉
I am sorry, you went too fast for me.
Sorry to hear that! Maybe it would help to familiarize yourself with the basic jasmine stitch first, ruclips.net/video/MnMLkLE0Wv4/видео.htmlsi=82fSzi_An6iApLoF, or have the pdf to follow at your own pace. www.loveapplecrafts.com/product-page/jasmine-stitch-circles Good luck!
Best tutorial I’ve seen of this stitch. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for your kind words !!
I am always missing I stitch at the end of the row/.
Hmm, sorry to hear that. Your count is off each round? Do you start each round with an increase ie. 2-petal-stitch? As long as it looks like a circle and lies flat it shouldn't matter😂. Troubling though.
What is PM?
Place marker.
Thank you so much for letting me know ! I will fix this immediately.
Ok I've fixed it. Thank you again for pointing that out, I really appreciate it. I must have over-written the listing when I created the new pattern for the pouches. It should work now!!
Hello thank u for the video i was trying to download the pdf pattern but the link is linking another project
I’m only 5 minutes in and I already need to comment! This is a GREAT tutorial, it clearly shows which stitch is the ‘eye’ that you need to work into and also covers the question of finishing with a slip stitch v single crochet, which no one else I’ve watched thus far has addressed. So THANK YOU, I’ll go finish the video now 😂
Thank you so much for your kind words ❤
Thank you so much! I had no idea how to make these, they are so cute 🥰
You are so welcome!
What are the dimensions of the finished placemat?
It really depends on the yarn you use and your tension. You can also keep going around and around once the pattern of the outer rounds is established, and make the placemat as large as you want, or stop early and make it small. The full pattern is available to download from my website : www.loveapplecrafts.com/product-page/jasmine-stitch-oval-placemats-crochet-pattern Thanks for your interest!
Thank you!! Exactly what I needed.
You're welcome!
Qué numero de gancho puedo usar...
yo uso 3,75 - 4 mm para peso peinado (worsted weight) . 1 -1.5mm más pequeña de lo recomendado para el hilo. Hopefully that makes sense !
Qué lindo trabajo!!!... En verdad un hermoso regalo compartido... Mil gracias❤
Muchas gracias !! Enjoy. You can download the pdf of the pattern for free - www.loveapplecrafts.com/product-page/jasmine-stitch-baskets-and-bowls
Very nice
Very nice How to make it oval? Can you show us please Thanks
There is a video on my channel on how to make a jasmine stitch oval, the first 3 rounds are demonstrated, ruclips.net/video/bNuRq_V3FI4/видео.htmlsi=Dqfgk2HewqQmv34D and the full pattern is on my website , www.loveapplecrafts.com !
Hi I just wanted to thank you for the detailed video. It has been very helpful and extremely clear.
Thank you so much for the kind words !
Thanks for sharing this easy stitch!!
Ty I understand this stitch a lot more easier
I am so glad to hear that!!!
Excellent tutorial. This will be my next project. I love the arrows and pauses. I've never seen that before in a video and it's very effective. Keep growing your channel! Your other videos are also very good.
Thank you so much for taking the time and for your kind and helpful comments! I'm glad to know my little annotations are helpful.
What is the size of your hook. You didn’t say.
Sorry! I use 5.5 or 6mm, or 0.5 mm larger than recommended for the yarn. I'll put that in the description!
@@loveapplecraftsThank you for replying so fast. I am 79 years old and just starting to crochet. I liked what you did in the washcloth but I have to go to Walmart and get a knitting needle or a crochet hook without the rubber on the end. I can’t wait to start it.
You'll love tunisian crochet. Just make sure you get a hook that is straight with no bump or handle, and long enough to hold 29 stitches. In nova scotia i know walmart has ones that look like a circular knitting needle, but with crochet hook tips. They should have something ! Good luck!!!
Question: Why are there only 5 petals on the first flower in round 2? I wonder if this is just a feature of the stitch, or whether it would work to do an additional Jinc at the beginning of the round to make that first flower have 6 petals? Freeze at 8:46 and you can see what I'm referring to.
I will look into this. Strange !
You are right. You also end up with a 7-petal flower adjacent. I don't find it too noticeable in the finished circle, and it doesn't recur in any of the subsequent rounds, but yes, it is weird and a simple fix as you suggest - working 2 consecutive JIncs at the beginning of round 2 - does resolve it. To keep the total number of JIncs in that round to 6, you could work the round as "JInc twice, (J, JInc) 4 times, 2J." I will change it in the pdf, and eventually change it in the video as well. Thanks for the tip!
This is beautiful, thank you 😊
You are so welcome !
Fabulous teacher, so clear and slow enough that one can “get it”. Thank you I look forward to more videos and will check out your website.
Thank you so much for your kind words !!
🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
I love this enthusiasm!
Great tutorial! 5/5 Close up In focus All shots in frame Clear audio
Thank you 🌝 One thing I would have hoped for is to slow down speaking for beginners like me having a hard time following, counting stitches, and placing the stitch markers when and where exactly the spot for it. This comment is positive feedback. Loved your work. Blessings.
Thank you for your kind words, and the good advice, I will slow down next time. I do talk fast !!
Thank you for the video, I wouldn’t have gotten it without the video!❤
I can not get to your website to get your pattern. Please advise.
Im sorry. The website works and many have been able to download the pattern, but sometimes because the website is new your anti-virus software will not allow you to download the file. If you would like to give me the name of your anti-virus software I might be able to resolve it! I was successful in resolving this with McAfee
Sorry I should say, anti-virus software doesn't allow some people to access the website at all. It's a frustrating issue that I need to resolve with my web host (wix)
Also, the pattern is available on etsy where it is 1 canadian dollar more expensive if you prefer that option! Thanks for your interest!
Love Apple Thank you!
You are so welcome!
