Jat has a great set up, clean and safety focused. Great to see a 25 YO Aircraft get a new life after such a busy life safely getting pax all over the world safely. After the conversion and C-check she will be like new.
My first job with Qantas in 1995 was 767 heavy maintenance and crawling inside to the top of the vertical fin for corrosion control. a truly great aircraft to work on. 🙂🇦🇺
Watching the preparation of a 25 year old plane for a new life is incredibly interesting. The engine test facility is also very interesting, in particular the IT equipment still in use. (19:40) It's a long time since I've seen CRTs in play and even longer since I saw a dot matrix printer in an office. However, this business is about maximising the use of existing technological resources, so why not?? It's very appropriate that they practice what the preach. Thanks to Flightradar24 for yet another outstanding video.
Those CRTs are not normal computer "monitors", but are actually serial terminals, cabled through DB-25 or some other serial cabling, probably running somewhere between 9,600 and 56k baud rate. So, this facility probably has a mainframe or mini-computer running in a remote datacenter, and those terminals (which were never sold with flat-screen displays) may be an essential link to information. Yes, there are terminal emulators that run on a PC...so someone could replace the terminals with computers running a full-screen terminal app, but it just may be the case that the dedicated terminal is a more accurate terminal as well as more reliable for keeping a link going with the remote mainframe system.
I have heard that when an aircraft reaches its second "D" check is when the airlines will retire it and it is usually a prime candidate for a freighter conversion. The D check is the most detailed and costly inspection of an aircraft since it must basically be disassembled down to the basic airframe. It’s logical to convert prime airframes to freighters since they have to be torn down anyways. Love to see more detailed videos of the conversion process.
Great video! I am a Serbian working as an AME-S in Canada and it’s great to see that they’re doing these big jobs in Serbia. It shows that these guys have knowledge, skill and technology for these types of projects which will also pave the way for the bigger ones in the future.
2:57 I like how those ladies are just walking around no PPE (hard hats) and people just Willy Nillie walking around under that chunk of fuselage 😂🤣 OHSA what
Wow, what a great detailed report as always sir, and stepping back in time to see those great old Boeing aircraft, the JAT 727 I flew that exact one from Manchester to Split when I was a wee child.
I know a guy who's a captain on a 767 Fedex cargo. Avionics are from the 787, which I don't really like. I love the original 767 cockpit. Steam gauges and crt screens. Perfect.
I'd love to know how they determine what makes a good candidate for conversion from pax to cargo ? Brilliant behind-the-scenes video! Thanks @GabrielLeigh!
@Flightradar24 is the 767 going to Challenge Airlines malta? because we already have another of their former 767Fs which is 9H-CAD nowadays. It used to fly for the same airline Ikar/Pegas Airlines
I love the 767, but it seems like it would be cheaper to just buy a new -F spec plane? By the time they've replaced everything bar the hull, and reengineered the hull itself? 😮
I’m a big fan of seeing technical detail but the first 4 mins of this video are of a piece of fuselage being lifted off and stood on the floor. That’s about 30s of video required max. Bored now and switching off.
Health and safety of workplace highly questionable. No PPE in sight. Hoping they are not applying the same safety measures to the new converted airplane

Yes!
"Safety focused"??? So you didn't see the people standing around near a suspended load at 02:50?
My first job with Qantas in 1995 was 767 heavy maintenance and crawling inside to the top of the vertical fin for corrosion control.
a truly great aircraft to work on. 🙂🇦🇺
Cool!

You can actually buy new dot matrix printers. If it ain't broke, no need to fix it.

Thank you for coming to Belgrade!
WOW !!! what an amazing insight to a aircraft from passenger to freight, very much looking forward to the next episode.
Many thanks!

OHSA what
Doesn’t MRO stand for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul?
You beat me to it
Yes
Yes it does.
Yes
Yes it does

Very interesting walk...Dank an Gabriel
This video was so good, love from 🏴
Amazing content! love the format and length!!!
Nice to see them breathing new life into these old birds
I love the state-of-the-art PC's 😅 Though im sure they still do exactly what they were designed to do.
Cool video! I fly these jets. Amazing to see them all tore up before I get to fly them.
Nice! Thanks for watching.

More content like this please :)
I have lots of memories with that aircraft.
Super video , great to see mother and father in the family run business כל כך תוסס.
Looks like that is VQ-BTQ... MSN 28207 / 695 Started life with TWA in 1998.
It would have been interesting to see the economical calculation in general. A lot of work, great video
Very beautiful video. ✈️ Thank you. ☘️
Awesome how they have the old equipment still racked in the engine test facility.
I'm not sure I understood much of this. And it is fascinating! I welcome more content like this. Look forward to next week. Thanks again!
I'm sure those ladies wanted to be in the background of almost every shot. 🤣

Thank you all. Very interesting.

Clever and talented people
Excellent video, Very informative
Great Info, We like it...
VERY interesting - thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
great show thankyou jerry would love this bigjetv
Superb content! Thanks for sharing this!
MRO means maintenance, repair and overhaul
It can be Overhaul or Organization, it depends.
That was fascinating!
I'd love to know how they determine what makes a good candidate for conversion from pax to cargo ?
Brilliant behind-the-scenes video! Thanks @GabrielLeigh!
How much the customer wants to spend.
@Flightradar24 is the 767 going to Challenge Airlines malta? because we already have another of their former 767Fs which is 9H-CAD nowadays. It used to fly for the same airline Ikar/Pegas Airlines
this is even more challenging because they rebuilt, modifying it
Wonder who the 767 was originally delivered to way back
Good question! It was actually delivered to TWA back in 1998. Later flew for AA and after that, Shanghai Airlines.
I can't get to the feature;. There are pop ads that go on and on
I love the 767, but it seems like it would be cheaper to just buy a new -F spec plane? By the time they've replaced everything bar the hull, and reengineered the hull itself? 😮
A 26 year old aircraft, hoping to get another 20 years out of it? What's thae actual conversion cost?
O in MRO is overhauled?
Boeing is still building new 767-300F's; wonder how much this conversion costs VS a brand new one...
I should send them my Camry and have them convert it into an Interstate highway motorcoach...😉RogerC 10/20/23
I don't understand why it can be used as a freighter when it can not be used for passager transport anymore.
Pavle is a total babe!
Wow
А я работал/летал на этом самолете, бортпроводником)
not one comment in Serbian ?
Wow, safely out the window in that company. I would not trust them to change oil in my car crazy the way they work how are they certified
Damn! Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a brand new aircraft instead od converting an older aircraft?
No, converting the aircraft and then acquiring via the secondary market is cheaper.
I would think they purchase those aircraft pretty cheap when the airlines are done with them.
I thought there was a compony in germany doing these convertions?
MRO = Maintenance Repair Overhaul
Very sad to see B727 YU-AKF and B737-200 YU-ANP in such a bad shape 😢
Waiting ✋️ ✋️ To See 👀 Cargo AirCraft Boeing On B777X B787 B737 MAX-8 A220 A350 AirCraft AirBus A321NX AirCraft

you need to hire a camera man!
getting queasy watching this otherwise fascinating video
1970's Russian technology, being used to bodge an ex Russian Pegas 767. LOL.
Health and safety of workplace highly questionable. No PPE in sight. Hoping they are not applying the same safety measures to the new converted airplane
Guys, do yourselves and us a favour and cut out the background music. It adds nothing and subtracts from the story. Just to annoying.
Oh yeah…that looks professional 🙄
Workplace Health and Safety is questionable. It’s all about cost.
A lot of talking and not real work shown...
Maintenance repair overhaul
