Hi, I have the 903 version on T6.1 and since it's been fitted whilst watching netflix on a firestick, every now and again I get a message across the screen,, CAN Communication Error. I press ok everytime. Any idea what this is please and how to stop it
When are removable fascia’s going to make a return. There is a rise in theft and I’m reluctant to buy a unit like this without being able to remove the face
I don't think they will ever make a return in all honesty as they were unreliable and a pain (Especially if you lost or broke it). People used to forget them and then had no radio for travel. The tech has moved the right way I think :) The Halo 9 / 11 have a fixed screen so can't just be removed or stolen, it's locked in place. Since we've been fitting them, I have never heard of one being stolen.
You can turn off the button touch sound which spoils this video. Hand movement/waving is really annoying and lack of knowledge of the system an issue for an instructional video.
How a product of this class and price doesn't have built-in GPS or it's own media apps is beyond me. This ends being no more than a glorified external monitor to which you have to connect a phone to get anything done. It just doesn't make any sense..
Great headunit. The main sale argument is the major downside of this product. 11" screen with the same resolution of 9" or even 7" units. Too low resolution for the size, wash out colors. A pity. Not to mention the huge bezel. very outdated look, as well. Old technology for XXI century. C'mon Alpine you can do more!
What camera would yea suggest as a front camera for this unit.

I think it's only designed for the Alpine Range of Dashcams.
Can you customize the splash screen?
We've not been able to try yet as we're still waiting for them to be fully released but I should expect that it will be possible!
Can you do a video on the pros , cons on DAB Antennas. Shark fins , glass mount. Which performs better ?

Maybe I’ve picked you up wrong, however, is the screen removable ? As the screen protrudes the dash on some installations

Yes the Halo Systems have a floating dash design so it’s meant to look like that.

I “believe” that’s something to do with your CAN or UART interface. I’d get in touch with your installer / supplier.
