Great video it was nice to see the monte carlo back on screen. I bought my e92 m3 at auction for dare I say it, 8k yes £8,000 with 120,000 miles the only problem was there was absolutely no history or logbook with, so it was a relief when I got it down to @evole automotive for rod bearings done and Ash told me everything on the car was fine, engine mounts to be fair were shot to shit, minor blow on exhaust from previous primary cat delete, drove back North Yorkshire smiling.

Prices actually bottomed out about 3-4 yrs ago, then increased over the next 3yrs or so, I think they have largely levelled off. Don't forget (ah I see you mention this at ~20 mins) that at least some of this price increase will be down to the 2nd car market being some what over-inflated atm due to the shortages of new cars (which is easing). Will they hold their value or drop after (presumably) the 2nd hand car market corrects itself? Who knows!?
Re rod bearings, you shouldn't have to do them every ~60k (or what mileage you chose) if you have bearings fitted which have increased clearance over OEM (something which Evolve have only very recently switched to!🙄).
A pretty comprehensive video 😎, though you haven't mentioned the VANOS covers, the original plastic covers are starting to distort and break up in some cars, and metal ones are available from the aftermarket now.
PS You and your dog can teleport! 🤣 Oh and LMAO re hat! My thin hair only gives me a little protection these days!

Only thing thats had catastrophic failure was a 02 sensor lol and the diff/subframe bushings(completely my fault being lazy). Other than that its a great car and will see some boost in the very near future and continue to get punished 🤙🏾!

That’s my exact pickle right now. The e92 is great but my dream car is a f82. The prices on the e92’s is probably at one of the lowest points they’ll hit so it’s like do I jump on it or do I wait a little longer for the f82 prices to drop

@@Thatbluee9xI had a choice between a E92 M3 or a F82 M4 4 years ago, and I chose the M4 first due to reliability, speed and design. Not a time goes by where I think I should’ve chose a E92 M3. The pure driving experience of the V8 is amazing with a timeless design. Both cars have two totally different personalities. Test drive both and see which one fits your life style. Save money for repairs and if you’re able to do them on your own, you’ll save a ton of money. Good luck and let me know what you choose. F82s are getting cheaper and by the time everyone notices how much bang for buck you get in regards to power and nice design they will shoot up in value. E92 M3’s are holding in value now as well and it’s harder to find non neglected examples.

When buying these old high performance cars, you should always think you are going to change everything down the road so prepare the budget for it.
However, the vibe E92 M3 gives behind the wheel is something else. Totally worth spending all the $$$ to keep it fresh. I've owned F80 M3, F87 M2, C7.5 S6 Stage 2, B8.5 S5 Stage 1, and list goes on but none of them makes the driving experience as pleasant as E92 M3 so my point is buy it if you can afford it, you won't be disappointed!

About car prices - all cars have gone up, not just the m3. I've seen this said about so many cars lately, "they're only going one way", when this isn't really true.
Due to the chip shortage, new cars were in short supply. So more people looked for used cars. That pushed up used car prices across the board. That has eased somewhat, so the used car market may return to normal.
There's also the issue of the bank of england raising the interest rates, which is causing a squeeze on anyone that has a mortgage. Combine this with the cost of living crisis, and I'd imagine there will be a few people selling their toys.
In short, supply and demand should mean prices falling a bit, especially for thirsty low mpg cars.

    • @adamivell
      @adamivell  Год назад +3

@Starlord2660. The V8 C63/M3/RS4/ISF will all eventually go up in price. They are all V8's which are becoming a dying breed and they are all approaching 'classic' status with the age of them. In Australia the only new V8 vehicles you can purchase are the Mustang and the hideously expensive LC500. You all ready stated it - supply of these cars is decreasing, whilst the market they cater to do not care about fuel economy. All of the vehicles I previously mentioned command a premium, the chip shortage and covid only contributed to part of it. The majority of people that own these cars will ride the wave of interest rates and the current economy and not in a position where they have to sell their toy as they don't owe money on it and they have a car for daily driving duties. You don't sound like a true car enthusiast who knows the current market from what you have stated.

@@gavinr9107 I'm not sure why you would try to tell me how much I like cars? Are you a bit thick?
I'm talking about the short term, and the economic factors that are contributing to car prices at the moment, whereas you are stating the obvious, that they will eventually go up. Try to understand my point before arguing against it, and check on motors, there are loads of these currently reduced, which proves my point.
And no, not ALL of these will go up in value. Well looked after versions with a good spec will skyrocket, whereas badly maintained rusty ones will eventually end up on the scrap heap. Sounds like you are the one who is not the true car enthusiast.

Doing rod bearings every 50k is a joke bmw should have been sued for improper fitting of the crank shaft to its tight bearing clearances, my goodness 10w 60 is rediculous motor oil to run in the winter. The fact is that the four liter motor makes glorious noises and only makes 299 ft lbs of torque in a 3600 lbs car it's just a bunch of noise that's all. The 335is is half the price and makes 370 ft lbs of torque and comes with the DCT transmission and you don't have to change the rod bearings.
