Great Kiln unload! Sorry to hear that your sip and shop was cancelled but hey you will have more beautiful pottery for the next one. The clay comparisons were really helpful!!!!!! Thanks
Ohh Audrey…I just love the Portuguese bowl!! Honeydew and Iron lustre wowza!! I’m going to have to use that one!! I’m going to be doing the kintsugi on a couple of bowls that I damaged too! I’ve always wanted to try out Plainsman Coffee is it nice to throw with? I still have 4 boxes of PSH black clay to finish first but i really want the coffee 🤭. Some beautiful pieces.. digging the purples! Haha we’re on the same page!
I am looking forward to seeing your honeydew combo! I like the idea of saving a piece with kintsugui. Like I said, my kintsugui kit is faux, not the real thing, but it will be fine! I have never used PSH black clay. Thanks, Sarah! I appreciate your comments!❤️
Great kiln opening! I was surprised when you mentioned a Portuguese Salad Bowl. I wasn't expecting that. What makes it a Portuguese Salad Bowl? All 4 of my grandparents were born in Portugal. Two from Madeira and two from The Azores.
Oh, cool! Looking at the portuguese dinnerware site, this shape came up a lot. However, I think for it to be really portuguese, I would need to use a traditional portuguese painting pattern on the inside. This one will remain plain. Thanks for your comments.🙂
I do love all the different clays you use!!! The coffee hasto be my favorite!! The berry bowl is sooo beautiful! I love the way the glaze breaks over that clay!! The bottles are just gorgeous too! Great kiln load!! I don’t think I’ve ever realized that certain clays allow more dripping! How crazy is that? Is that what happened on the oil bottle and the straw cup? I’m not sure I’m understanding. Lol
Thanks so much! 😊 Yes, the glaze running glazes run more when applied to white stoneware. The glazes seem to get hung up on the grog clays. I guess to achieve more running on grog clay, you would apply more coats ofntge running glaze!
The Purple Crystal seems to be different every time I use it, but it does seem to lean toward blue. The only purple I have found that gives me purple is Purple Haze from PSH. it's more of a celadon and needs 4 good coats unless you buy the dipping glaze. I stick with the brush on as I have way too many glazes and am trying to pare down and find new combos. I do like the green mug the best on your white clay. I guess that's my fav for today
Thanks for your input! I appreciate it! Ya, I guess what I am looking for is DEEP purple. It just doesn't seem to be out there. I wonder if Purple Crystal and Eggplant would work. I'm going to try it! I like that green mug, too! Thanks, again!
Hey my sista!!!! It’s 3am but I’m staying up to watch lol. Just put the kiln on! Finally got my new to me spectrum glazes! Yr sangria is making me sooo impatient to see mine lol. I have a bowl that shape I’m gonna call it a Portuguese salad bowl love it! IL honeydew is pretty very different. Can’t wait to see yr Kintsugi! Wow pearl white on coffee is so pretty would b nice on Christmas things. Try the Amaco hf range lilac that’s the purple I love mixed 50% hf white is my favourite. I have amacos new floating lavender in this kiln so hoping it’s a pretty purple too. Purple crystal on obsidian goes a pretty purple too. And reactive red on obsidian lol. Love both the purple crystals pieces. I like the drippy one of course lol. Amazing clay can change the runs. The eggplant bottle is gorgeous. Wow the autumn purple ran. I’m scared to open mine lol. Beautiful unload as always xx
Oh, wow! Look at all of these wonderful comments you have written! Thank you so much! ...AND thank you for the Purple suggestions! You know, I JUST bought Reactive Red. I am going to try that Obsidian combo now. Thank you so much, SISTA! You are so fun!
I always enjoy your kiln openings. If you ever make your glazes, Pikes Purple from John Britt’s book on mid-range glazes has always given me a good purple. Where did you find the seahorse mold you used on the pot in your short? Good job!
Thanks so much! I appreciate you watching and enjoying! Thanks for the Pikes Purple tip. Here is the seahorse link: share.temu.com/4osuMkY9RuA Happy Creating!
No, I haven't. I know a few potters use that now. Hmmm? Maybe ai have to try it. I guess I was looking for a deep purple. Thank you for you help. I appreciate your input!
Hi, Kim. This kiln firing got to cone 6, but it was a slow cool firing, and that helps with the blistering and pinholes. The slow cool program is on my website: www.audreylynnburm.com/post/slow-cool-firing-schedule-for-potters However, since I publishes that on my blog, I have augmented the 5th segment even more to 2195 Fahrenheit with a hold for 10 mins. That got me to cone 6. Everything else is the same. If I go a straight cone 6 firing, I stand the chance of pinholes!🙂
@undsethpottery OH! That's interesting! I have so rarely had any trouble with the glazes. Maybe it's too thick, but I am not sure. I wish I could help you more.
@@AudreyLynnStudios thank you! Maybe I will try your slow cool! I just ordered almost all of the new floating glazes by spectrum, so I need to figure it out lol!
Thanks!
WOW! Thank you so much for the Super Thanks! It's truly appreciated! 🙂

Beautiful pieces. It’s unreal how much a clay body can change the look! I love the amaryllis mug, so pretty! And the bowl is spectacular!
It's true, Right!? It's worth keeping notes for future projects. Thanks for compliment, Sarah!
Your welcome! I love my advancer shelves and I’m sure you will too! They are work every dollar! Loved the comparisons!
Oh, I know I am going to love them! Thanks, again!
Such a beautiful unload! Loving those purples and blues in your sippy cup. The green mug is gorgeous 😊

Awesome kiln opening Audrey! So many beautiful combos, and I loved the purple crystal pieces!💙
Again, thanks so much, Ana. Enjoy your holiday!
Love that green mug! I'l have to watch the glaze along.
Didn't it turn out great?! I gave it to my very close friend. She is a green girl! I hope you like the Glaze-a-long! I would love to see your results!
Love your green mug! Interesting clay comparisons-Liana

Great kiln opening!!!! By any chance is the portuguese salad bowl for sale? Very pretty, rustic!
It can be for sale. Remember me saying there is a small crack, though. My intention was to do a kintsugui job on it and then sell it. Hmmm?

@@AudreyLynnStudios Thanks!
Audrey, have you tried purple haze from pottery supply house?
No, I haven't. I know a few potters use that now. Hmmm? Maybe ai have to try it. I guess I was looking for a deep purple. Thank you for you help. I appreciate your input!
Hi Audrey , do you have a video on how you throw your oil bottle , I’m having a heck of a time making them …
Not yet!...but I will do one today, just for you, Shawn!🙂 I am no expert but the seem to work out!🤣
@@AudreyLynnStudios amazing, you’re so sweet thank you !
@@Shawn_Reid_Pottery My pleasure. I just filmed it but I must edit. Stay tuned.
Great kiln unloading! Love your rose quarts mug!
How do you fire spectrum glazes at cone 6 without getting blisters?
Hi, Kim. This kiln firing got to cone 6, but it was a slow cool firing, and that helps with the blistering and pinholes. The slow cool program is on my website: www.audreylynnburm.com/post/slow-cool-firing-schedule-for-potters

@@AudreyLynnStudiosI have a very similar schedule, not quite as hot 5.5 cone but still struggle not all the time, maybe I get my glazes too thick!
